I was replacing a 23 year-old furnace with a cracked heat exchanger so that I could sell my house. Since I was looking for the base model that would exactly replace the furnace I owned, I was able to get several bids by phone. Owens was the second lowest based on price, but gave me a much higher comfort level regarding their work. They pulled the necessary permits for me and arranged for the certifications, which some other bids weren't willing to do. They also warrantied their work, which I was told was extra by two other bidders. Don was very responsive to my calls about details on the system that I needed to better compare between bidders. The work was performed two days after I called them back to approve the work. Everything was completed professionally and cleanly. I appreciated their excellent work especially given that I was purchasing their cheapest model.

We just bought our home and the seller had told us that she had just filled the oil tank. When our furnace stopped working, Kasey Kindle from Owens came out for an emergency call. After replacing the nozzle and cleaning the assembly of the furnace, he determined that our oil tank was empty. He waited until they had come to fill our tank to make sure everything was going to work correctly, and didn't charge us for the extra time. Although this "emergency" was a bit expensive, it was well worth it.

It turned out it was a simple repair. The value was not turning on and all the repair man did was turn it on. He then called tech support to, make sure there was nothing else he needed to know. The service price had two components: $95 for diagnosis (which I think is fair), but then he charged me $95 for a 10 minute repair because he called tech support. I called and complained about the bill and they then lowered it and will take off $40. They installed my furnace in my old home and were good for that but I think they charge excessively for their repair calls.

Salesperson Al Waschke was a gem to work with--well-informed, responsive, honest and interested in meeting our needs rather than selling us unnecessary stuff. We did have to ask him to add missing details to his written bid--and then the installers, Kyle and Jesse, installed a different (supposedly better) humidifier than specified without checking with us ahead of time. No one seemed to know how to program the humidifier correctly--Al finally had to call the manufacturer and do it himself--and tech Bruce had to return twice to fix a few relatively minor problems with the installation. It took quite awhile to get the scheduler to send him out. Nonetheless, the furnace itself seems to be well installed and working well, and everyone at the company was pleasant to talk to. We chose Owens because of Al, because they have NATE-certified techs, because of unsettling experiences with salespeople from other companies, and because Owens seems to have old-fashioned integrity.

Very good experience overall. Our representative was Alvin Waschke. He was always very pleasant, prompt, forthcoming with answers to all our questions and knowledgeable. We got a reasonable quote on a 95% efficient Trane furnace and 15 Seer A/C. We were informed about all the tax credit and rebates which saved us some money. Owens removed our old equipment, installed all the new equipment, did all the sheet metal and other necessary work. Their installers were prompt, pleasant, efficient and professional.

The salesperson had the day of the appointment mixed up, which wasn't a big deal. He was very nice and willing to answer questions, but seemed in a bit of a rush to wrap up. When I e-mailed him with questions the next day, he didn't answer all of them. Still, the system he quoted me on met my qualifications and, including the humidifier and air filter, was fairly priced. I went with a company that had a slightly better price and a longer warranty on labor (the parts warranty was the same).

Relatively small home with 2nd furnace on 2nd floor; ductwork separate from rest of home. Furnace installed IN a wall and sealed off, except for grill as cover, which did not allow access to filter. Received estimates from 2 companies; both agreed that furnace needs more airflow and didn't seem safe, plus very old (1951) and connections etc. no longer to code. Owens opened up the entire wall area in front/behind new furnace. The crew was awesome; very respectful of my home, very professional, very busy on-site. They cleaned up well afterwards, clearly caring for my home. Had a chance to use the A/C and now the furnace, and the upstairs is finally very comfortable to be in. The furnace is loud, but I've yet to put a new (large) grill - maybe that will help. Furnace/AC seems very efficient. Responsive when I called with questions and in helping with Lennox rebate and scheduling city inspection. Great customer service. They did lower estimate when I told them of others I had received.

The AC wasn't cooling, and it was still under extended warranty. Owens was the original Trane equipment installer and they had to perform warranty service. The technician arrived within the time window, and he was courteous and professional. He made the repairs neatly and it seems to be working great. The personnel in the office have been very helpful in making sure that I get the Extended Warranty properly transferred from the previous owner. Excellent work!

Very pleased. Salesman was knowledgeable on the telephone. They were willing to do custom work on an older home. They were picky and helpful to get a nice finished appearance.

Owens did a great job removing our mid-1970's A/C unit and our 1939 furnace, and replacing them with a new, high efficiency system. They were fast, friendly, and efficient. The demo took no time at all and they even contracted an asbestos removal team to verify that the old furnace was safe. The install took a little longer than expected, but nothing was left undone. We were very happy with their work.

Everything was fine. The work was nothing spectacular, but they did the job. The receptionist that scheduled the call was a bit rude, but the work was done well.

It took a day longer than initially estimated. The main person working on the job was rather nervous and upset, particularly when pipes burst and radiators started leaking while he was filling up the system. But the end result is fine, and he did come to test the air after the installation when I was worried about the air quality. He did say that there would be additional charges for the burst pipes and I do now have a room without heat, though.

I LOVE THE SERVICE TECHS AT OWENS! THEY USE DROP CLOTHES EVERYWHERE (I HAVE WHITE CARPET), ARE POLITE, CLEAN UP AFTERWARD AND HAVE ALWAYS BEEN ON TIME. (ONE TECH WAS STUCK IN TRAFFIC DUE TO AN ACCIDENT AND HE CALLED TO SAY HE WOULD BE 10 MINUTES LATE!) THEY SET UP APPOINTMENTS USING ACTUAL TIMES. I JUST HATE WHEN CONTRACTORS SAY THEY WILL BE OUT BETWEEN 8AM AND NOON OR 1 PM AND 5 PM. I DON'T KNOW WHO THEY SEE AT 8AM OR 1 PM, BUT IT IS NEVER ME AND I HAVE TO TAKE ALL THAT TIME AWAY FROM WORK. THEY USE TOP PRODUCTS AND DON'T SKIMP ON THE INSTALLATION. THEY EVEN WORKED WITH ME SO THAT MY OLD A/C UNIT WAS REMOVED WHEN I PUT ON NEW SIDING, BUT THE NEW UNIT WAS NOT INSTALLED UNTIL 6 MONTHS LATER. THAT WAY MY SIDERS DIDN'T HAVE TO BOX AROUND EXISTING PIPES. I ACTUALLY GOT MY A/C UNIT FROM HOME DEPOT AND WAS ABLE TO GET THE INTEREST FREE FINANCING AS A RESULT. I WOULD FEEL COMFORTABLE WITH THE TECHS IN MY HOUSE WITHOUT BEING THERE. I HAVE NEVER WAITED TO SCHEDULE AN INSTALLATION.

WE WERE SO PLEASED WITH KENT AND DAVE. THEY WERE PERSONABLE, PROFESSIONAL, CLEANED UP WELL. WE WERE NOT AT ALL CONCERNED WHEN WE HAD TO LEAVE THE HOUSE. WE'D RECOMMEND OWENS AND THOSE TWO MEN, TO ANYONE WHO NEEDED THE SAME KIND OF WORK. JUST EXCELLENT!!
