Response from LOGS & LIMBS TREE SERVICE
I would like to express our sincerest apologies to (Member name removed) for our inability to get to her and offer a bid for the tree services that she requested. I would like to offer, if I may, an explanation as to why we were unable to provide a quote for the tree work requested. First a bit about us... My husband Jay and I are the sole owners of our tree service. We live in Bloomington and operate locally in Bloomington, Richfield & Edina. We have a full time crew of four (including my husband) My husband and crew work out in the field and I operate within our home office. We are extremely blessed to have a wonderful crew working for us. We are even further blessed to have the most loyal base of wonderful customers that have been with us for years. I would estimate that approximately 90% of our work comes to us via referrals from those customers. It is through those customers and referrals that we have always found ourselves with an abundance of work. We feel very grateful for that abundance. We have continually strived for superior customer service and care for our customers and their trees. Like any business, there are certain things that you can control and certain things that you cannot. What we can control is how we treat our customers and the quality of service that we provide. What is difficult to control however is the weather and call volume (most often the former prompts the latter) That weather sure can make life challenging when it comes to running an outdoor business. Take for instance the almost full month of rain we had this spring just coming out of that late winter. When you have rain, it prevents you from working and ultimately gets you behind in your work. Then there was the storm that hit on June 21st. Boy, I don't think my phone ever stopped ringing. After that storm, I would guess we were sitting at a full 2 months out (on approved work) Not to mention the list a mile long of people waiting for a bid. Then...the August 6th storm hit. That storm created so much damage and boosted our call volume to levels that were simply unmanageable. Here's some real interesting stats: Just on August 7th, we had 125 calls (ALL FROM VERY IMPORTANT CUSTOMERS). For the last three weeks in August we had approximately 600 calls for tree work. I will say.... my husband and crew are extremely efficient and talented but...that's about 10 months worth of work in 3 weeks time. It would NEVER be possible that my husband and crew would be able to handle that volume of work. It's just humanly impossible. So back to my explanation & apology.... I would like for (Member name removed)to know how extremely sorry we are that we could not get to her personally. She, unfortunately, is not alone due to the volume this summer. We honestly try to get to as many people as humanly possible. My crew has been on overtime for over three months straight as well as working till dark almost daily. We are, however, able to help many, many people. The people that had trees down on their roofs and power lines I know were very happy to see us. In situations like these, you just do the best you can. EVERY ONE of our customers is important to us!! We're just very sorry we cannot get to them all. Sincerely, Jay & Teresa (Logs & Limbs)
