Jim's Small Stuff Handyman Service

He did fine. We were not able to get the shower door quite right, but he told me that was going to be a challenge without replacing it.

I was definitely pleased. They were pleasant to work with and the job was finished in a timely manner. It was easy to make an appointment and they were polite and easy to talk to. Better glass was installed so it's tougher to break and I was overall very happy with the job that they did.

The service was carried out well. It just takes a while for him to respond to a phone call, but he does get back to you. Overall I would try him again. The price seemed appropriate for the service.

I have used Jim a few times. Always prompt, pleasant, and gets the job done. Reasonable prices and is quick to suggest most cost effective way to get things done. Very good at giving suggestions on anything around the house. Will continue to use him...call and book early as he is popular but it is worth the wait.

He is always on time. He was willing to teach me some skills right on the job. He is very patient. He makes sure that he cleans up all his mess when he is done.

He answered my initial phone call promptly. He gave me an estimate very quickly and on time. I called three service providers and he was the only one that responded my call.

Jim was prompt in responding and scheduling work. He spent seven and a half days over a three month period. He either used materials we had or got them at the hardware store. He was careful to keep checking with us about how we wanted the work done. He worked along with another person we needed for part of one job. He is careful and a bit of a perfectionist. We had to reschedule one of the sets of dates and he was accommodating about it.

Jim was prompt, knowledgeable, professional, and efficient. His professional background is in education, and it shows; he explains what he's doing, has a wonderful manner and sense of humor, is trustworthy, and quite competent. I highly recommend him.

There were little maple trees sprouting by the hundreds in our gutters and way too high for us to be able to try to get out. No water was able to pass through the gutters and down the drain spouts. IT was unsightly and probably had been accumulating in the spouts for a while. He took them off and thoroughly cleaned them and replaced part of one. My husband did little things to assist him which cut down on the time that it took Jim. He was friendly and thorough. We would definitely use him again.

He was very meticulous and communicated well with us. He has done a number of smaller jobs. He was easy to be with and had affordable prices. He was helpful and I would use him again.

Jim heals wounds. We had such a terrible experience with a contractor, right when our son was born and elderly parents were arriving from India. We had renovated the basement for them to stay in, but it was a total disaster instead, and we had to bring our newborn home to a house filled with dust. After we had the big crews come in to finish the foundation and other major work, I found Jim. Jim arrived and went through the entire basement fixing things that I just couldn't bear to look at. All of the anger and stress that I had been carrying around for an entire year just went away. I felt comfortable having him around my babies, and enjoyed his friendly personality. He likes to drink coffee and appreciates pastries. He doesn't bid, he just does the work. I prefer that arrangement for handyman projects. We were very very happy. He healed our home.

He was clean, courteous, on time, very friendly, and is a great person to work with. We have asked him to come back out for other work, he is our handyman now. Prices are very reasonable. We found him on Angie's List and would recommend him to everyone

Jim did a spectacular job in every way. His prep work was meticulous and his painting was superb. He identified problems (such as gaps and tiny holes in our mudroom walls/trim) and found good, inexpensive solutions for them. He always kept us posted as to his progress and was very professional.

He has been working for me for about three years and is just excellent. He's a very pleasant human being and has fair prices.

Was the most trustworthy service provider that I have dealt with. Left him at the house while I was selling my other house while he worked.

Went well. Jim's cheerful and easy to work with. Came on time, worked carefully and cleaned up after.

Over the phone, I described the problem to Jim. He knew where to purchase matching siding (someplace 15 miles from my home-would've taken me some time to track that down) and was able to tear out the damaged siding and replace it with the new siding in a few hours. He did not need anyone at home at the time of the repair and left the bill for us. About six months later, the sections he repaired all began to pull away from the house where he had nailed it in. I contacted him about it and he offered to repair his own mistake, but would charge us again at half the rate. Sorry, I am not paying someone to repair their own mistakes. I brought in another contractor, who fixed Jim's work. No issues with the repaired repairs.

Jim was very flexible about working around my availability during a work day, and arrived promptly as scheduled. I have not called a "handyman" before, but it was good to have someone else do the work and deal with surprises along the way. Jim was friendly, personable, and did very good work. I will definitely contact him again.

Jim is much in demand because of his extremely high quality, so he was a little hard to get in touch with initially, but I would encourage prospective customers to stick with him even if he takes a few days to get back to you. His work is superb, he is a pleasant person and very neat and clean, and he sees immediately what needs to be done and knows how to do it. He is conscientious about NOT taking on tasks that exceed his competence (for example, when we first hired him for some carpentry a couple years ago, we needed some electrical work done which he rightly deferred to our electrician).

Jim is great! He did a wonderful job fixing up the back hall (some previous electrician had knocked out a foot tall hole to install an outlet, and some previous owner had plastered over vintage electric wires, which were sticking out of the wall). Very beautiful paint job (and he used caulk strips to hide where previous owners had slopped paint onto the woodwork). He helped me choose a stain (to match) for the quarter round, and did a nice job installing it. Very detail-oriented, helpful, and fun to have around. I'm learning a lot about my house from him!

Jim is wonderful, and we highly recommend him. He was very flexible with our list of jobs. We discussed the list before he came, and he was up front about what he could do and what he'd look at but not promise (replace a faucet). He was very neat and clean--he took the time to really scrub the bathtub where the door was removed, and he caulked the holes in the tile. You can hardly tell there had been a door there. He is personable, and he was terrific with our dog!
