Jim's Small Stuff Handyman Service

Demolished the rock fireplace - it was back breaking & messy. They did the work without complaining. Would not hire them for carpentry but would hire them again. Very nice person. Hardworking. Trustworthy to have in house. Not a finish carpenter. Good with demolition, but were not up to framing the fireplace or doing finish carpentry. Damaged a board on a beam. Was not careful with the hammer when reinstalling it. Had to replace the board.

Very good, very professional, Very nice person! We will definitely use him again!

Jim did a great job and continued working outside on a 100+ degree day! As we reviewed the jobs, he gave me information about why something might have happened and how he was going to fix it. So, not only did he fix something, but he also taught me something.

Jim did an excellent job with the gutter install. It looks great!

I had also asked Jim to see if he could repair loose stair ballisters. He tried but decided he did not have the appropriate tools for repair and suggested I contact a carpenter that also builds stairs. I appreciated his honestly. He did a nice job on mounting the TV wall brackets. He reinstalled the shelving but several months later the shelving pulled out of wall again. Probably not Jim's fault, probably too much weight on shelves or we purchased the wrong braces.

Jim did an absolutely superb job powerwashing my 12x15-foot cedar wood deck. He rented a power washer and just passed along the actual cost of the rental ($50), plus a labor fee of $80. I thought this was very reasonable, especially because the results were so great. He was overloaded with projects and not sure when he could come back to restain the deck, so he kindly recommended an associate to do that part of the project. Someone who, like Jim, ended up doing a terrific job. This was all in all a great experience and definitely a better way to go than hiring a big and pricey ''deck cleaning'' company!

When I talked to Jim on the phone he emphasized that he only does small project type lists. When I read him my list, he said that it would be no problem, but for roof work (I had a duct that needed capping) he would charge an additional $40 roof charge. So we set up a date and time. He arrived on time and completed my list (plus a few additional items). He was very nice and friendly. He even helped out my neighbor with a problem.

Jim called back promptly and made an appointment. When he arrived, he spent about an hour inspecting the door I had purchased and doing measurements, then told me the door I had purchased wouldn't fit. He also gave me some advice on how to fix my siding cheaply and easily myself. He didn't charge me for his time. I will definitely call Jim again for small repairs.

Jim was on time both days and called before arriving. He was friendly, courteous and very considerate of our property and time. He did an excellent job.

Jim had done work for me earlier and promised to come back to install the gutter filter after I had my roof cleaned. He came back the day after I called to tell him the roof was done. Jim is very pleasant to work with. He returns calls promptly and follows up after the work is done. He is busy but does a good job of estimating when he will be able to do the job.

Jim was a little bit hard to get ahold of at first; we played phone tag with several days between calls, which reflects how much in demand he is. Once we reached him and set a date, he turned out to be well worth waiting for! He is amazingly skilled at a broad variety of fixer-upper tasks; prompt, thorough, conscientious and neat about starting and completing jobs; very aware of the limits of his competence so that he did NOT try to tackle jobs that really required a specialist (e.g. installing an electric fixture in a tiled shower-stall ceiling). He is very pleasant and friendly person, yet also professional and focused. His price quotes were accurate, reasonable, and fair, with no surprises.

It was a pleasure interacting with Jim. He was knowledgeable, experienced, careful and neat. I also found it very beneficial to pick his brain regarding future work that needs to be done, for which I will definitely use him again.

Jim was a delightful and thorough person to work with. I will hire him again when I have more work.

Jim wasn't feeling well, so he called to say he would be late. He then came as he had promised and stayed 8 full hours. He completed my entire to-do list and did a good job. He was easy to work with. I would/will hire him again.

JIM IS A VERY PLEASANT PERSON TO HAVE AROUND. I THOUGHT HE WAS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE, THOROUGH AND HARD WORKING. HE WAS HERE FROM 8:30 TO 5:00 AND TOOK ONLY A 15 MINUTE BREAK FOR WHICH HE DID NOT CHARGE ME. I WILL DEFINITELY CALL HIM AGAIN.

HE WAS VERY PERSONABLE AND PROMPT, CREATIVE AND ABLE TO ADAPT.

VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE, WHICH IS GOOD FOR ME BECAUSE I AM NOT AT ALL KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT HOME MAINTENANCE, OR LAWN MAINT. FOR THAT MATTER. HE CAME WHEN HE SAID HE WOULD, FIXED THINGS AND GAVE ADVICE ABOUT THINGS, AND CHARGED A FAIR PRICE.

JIM WAS RESPONSIVE IN CALLING BACK AND SCHEDULING TIME. HE WAS NEAT AND POLITE, KNOWLEDGEABLE, AND WILLINGLY ADDED ON A COUPLE OF TASKS. HE EVEN CALLED ATTENTION TO THE OUTSIDE GARAGE DOOR HANDLE BEING LOOSE AND DID A GOOD FIX! ALL THAT ALONG WITH BEING REASONABLY PRICED.

FANTASTIC--JIM RETURNED CALLS, ARRIVED ON TIME, WORKED DILIGENTLY AND THOROUGHLY.
