Description of Work: Gardner repaired some crumbling foundation on our 1940's house. They were punctual and finished the job in a day and it looks great!

Description of Work: I had a crumbling garage foundation problem caused by water. I fixed the water problem by installing gutters but needed the foundation replaced. Gardner came in and fixed it in an afternoon. It looks great.

Description of Work: We had a block of our foundation crumbling, so asked Gardner to replace it. Work was prompt and Ryan (I think that's his name) was professional and courteous. Jerry had come out and took a look at the rest of the foundation and didn't have any other recommended fixes. Pricing seemed high for the work being completed (about an hour), but they were recommended, and we're happy with the quality. We're having them look at some chimney work, as well.

Description of Work: Got a quote after waiting 3+ days. Then had questions about it and they never returned our call to answer the questions! I went with someone else. I think our job was too small for them to do, but they could have just said that instead of ignoring me and my inquiry.

Description of Work: Did a fantastic job on a new apron for our sunken driveway - there had been several places along the seam between driveway and garage floor with holes a few inches wide and several feet deep. They cut out the asphalt, filled the voids, and poured a new slab about 6'3" wide (to match our sidewalk's slab). Rebar, fiber in the Cemstone concrete mix, 1/4 rubber expansion spacers between existing slabs/asphalt and the new pour. Relief joints, brushed finish. I really like the result and wouldn't hesitate to use them again. | |Est was on the high side of the three I got, but I liked the attention to detail promised (and delivered).

Description of Work: After sucking 300 gallons of water from my mom's basement after several days of rain, I contacted Gardner Construction after looking on Angie's List. Bill got back to us right away. He told us that the only way to guarantee no more water flooding was to put in drain tile and a sump pump. This was what I suspected we would need. After measuring the walls, he gave us the estimate. He told us exactly what was needed and some things that could also be done, but he said they weren't needed. They were very busy and couldn't do the work right away because so many people had contacted them with water issues because of the rainy spring. Which was just as well, because we had a lot of furniture and belongings that had to be removed before they could do the work. The job took 3 days because it was a very large basement with several feet of walls that were below grade. They put up plastic so the dust wouldn't spread to the upstairs. They left the basement neat. Our general contractor who was going to do the remodel after they finished was very impressed with their work. Bill had left a cell phone number that I would call if I had any questions. He always answered or got back right away. They only negative thing I could say was when I tried calling the office number, I only got an answering machine message saying they were very busy and it could be a while before they got back to us, but the woman in the office never got back to me. I realized after all the work was done that they had done concrete work for me several years ago and it still looks great. I would recommend this company.

Description of Work: I would like to give Gardner Construction all A's, and had we used them at some other time, I probably would be able to. My only complaint has to do with communication, and my guess is that during a less busy time for them, it wouldn't be an issue. They were very punctual the two times I met them at my rental house. The first time was to get a bid on the drain tile work we needed. The rep gave me this, along with an estimate of 2-3 weeks until the work could be done. This was a very wet spring and what was previously a minor water problem had suddenly become much worse. I selected Gardner based on their high ratings and good reviews on Angie's List, and on the 2-3 week estimate. (The other highly-rated company we got a bid from said they couldn't get to us for at least 4 months.) After 3 weeks had come and gone, I called the number I was given, which was the rep's cell phone number. He said they were extremely busy, but he would figure out where we sat on their list and call me back in a couple hours with a new estimate. He never called. I called again several days later and received the same answer, and again no call back. Finally, five weeks after their initial visit, I called the company number (I should have thought of that before...and/or the rep should have referred me to that number if he was too busy to call me back). I left a message explaining (complaining about) the situation, and within minutes both the rep and the president of the company called me back. Long story short, the very next day they sent a crew (including the president, Rob) to do the work. They did a very nice job, finished in half a day and cleaned up well. Rob was very professional, obviously making an effort to be sure it was done right and that I was satisfied. I appreciated that. So far the basement is bone dry. It has been less than a week, and there's been very little rain, but before the drain tile went in, we were getting water every day, even when it didn't rain, because the ground was so saturated. I have confidence that the drain tile system will work well the next time we get heavy rains. So, all's well that ends well, but it was a frustrating experience for a while. I'm sure the communication issues were due in large part to the fact that they've been so busy. At the end of the day, I do recommend Gardner Construction.
