Incredibly pleased with results. Rob provided clear estimate and explained options. Estimated start was 6-8 weeks out but actually only 4 - Rob contacted 1 week in advance to see if I was ready - had to move plants and retaining wall. He was on-site the first morning to ensure team lead knew scope of work. Project took several days but crew picked up each day (aside from progress couldn't tell they'd been there). Rob suggested the new sidewalk be widened and raised (for snowblower access and better water drainage). Rob was promptly responsive to my questions - I preferred txt msgs so that's how he communicated. I will hire them again when I replace my garage.

Seth responded in a timely manner, proposed several ways of solving the problem, and offered additional suggestions to help with the drainage around the stairwell, which was the source of the original damage. He was willing to look at the project holistically, and knowledgable on all aspects of the job. Many concrete companies will limit their involvement to only the concrete work itself, but most projects are rarely so clear cut. We had a portion of the wall rebuilt with new block, new rebar, and a finish parge coat. Railings were removed and reinstalled. The grade was modified using new fill, new river rock and edging.

It went great! I was only planning on removing the concrete steps and sidewalk. Seth recommended removing overgrown shrubs, a retaining wall and regrading on either side of my steps to remove water accumulation which was causing my steps to tip back towards the house. I opted to have them demolish the steps and replace with maintenance free. So the cost was for new sidewalk, all the landscaping work and removing the steps. Great work!

Team was in to tear down and replace foundation wall. Project was completed in 3 days. Punctual and professional every day they were on site. Would definitely hire again for future projects.

I contacted Gardner Construction after buying a house with a basement slab that was deteriorated in places and I wanted this repaired so we could install a radon mitigation system. After meeting some other companies that seemed clueless about the project, Bill was very friendly and knew exactly what we needed done. This summer was busy for everyone so it took a little bit to get the crew out there but they were professional, cleaned up after themselves, and we were happy with the end result. As an owner of an old house, it's nice to know that a firm like Gardner is out there.

Went very well. Crew arrived promptly at 7am and set to work. Project finished up in early afternoon. Clean-up was great. They were responsive to our questions and communicated well. We would definitely use them again.

It went perfectly! They were very professional, kept me informed of their schedule and any price and plan changes. Initially 9 blocks in the garage were going to be replaced; but then they suggested adding a support around the whole foundation of the garage and they would then add a coverage that looked like stucco over it. This increased the cost; but it was a great suggestion as once I got the garage empty for them I noticed additional cracks in the foundation and had wished that they were visible when they initially came to see what they thought about them. With that said I was very glad to hear of the addition of additional support for the foundation and pay the additional cost.

Gardner Construction was by far the best contractor for any project we have contracted for in 38 years in our home. The quality of the work was excellent and done on a timely basis. Everyone with Gardner acted professionally and were responsive and patient with any concerns we may have had.

An 8 foot section of basement wall collapsed. Seth came out within 1 day of contacting us. We accepted on a Saturday and a crew was there Monday morning to shore up the floor. They came out within 1 week and did the job. Seth explained the process and showed me at each step what they were doing and why. Very professional team, were on site when they said they would be. Did an excellent job. I highly recommend them.

I called Gardner to schedule an estimate. LeAnn told me someone would call me back shortly and they never did.

Gardner replaced a total of eight sections of sidewalk in front and in back of my property. All representatives with whom I had contact were professional and very helpful, and the job was competitively priced. They were able to work within a very limited timeline imposed by the City of Minneapolis when the City mistakenly removed sections of my front walk. Gardner even re-assembled and replaced the concrete border next to the front walk that was damaged when the City did their demolition. I am very satisfied and will definitely hire Gardner for future needs.

Everything went great. Seth and his crew were awesome. They showed up when they said they would and worked their butts off every day they were here. None of the come for a day, leave for a day, come for a couple hours, leave for a day. Once they started, they worked every day until the project was complete. What I really liked was, as they were working through the project, they had additional recommendations, which turned out to be great ideas that we hadn't considered. So they aren't just a "show up and do 1 thing show", they adapted to changes, which we really appreciated. These guys were very knowledgable, did a GREAT job, provided regular updates along the way, and in the end we couldn't be happier. I will say, they weren't the cheapest option out there, but I'm a firm believer of "you get what you pay for". With Seth and his team, they worked WITH us to come up with the best solution, so we were comfortable with what they planned. I would not hesitate for a minute, to recommend Gardner Construction. I can't speak for all of their crews, but Seth and his crew were "top notch". Oh, and they were FUN, too! All around, a great experience.

Salesman Scott advised what kind of wall would be appropriate for our application. We chose the more expensive option that he recommended with drains to relieve moisture behind wall. Wall was completed in reasonable amount of time. Looked good upon completion. Within 10 months cracks began to develop. The owner Jerry Gardner visited the site telling me that “it’s normal for cracks to happen”. He remortered places where cracks appeared. Within months the remorter dried and fell out as the cracks got bigger. Jerry returned and had cracks filled with pliable material. Before 2nd year different cracks appeared. Jerry had some of the blocks core filled and patched. Now before the 3rd anniversary of installation (May 15) more cracks developed including blocks cracking in half. I furnished pictures to Gardner. Jerry called me to arrange a meeting. I was going out of town for two weeks so I asked him to look at it and determine what could be done. One month after that contact I hadn’t heard from Jerry and nothing had been done. I called and spoke with Leanne Gardner (co-owner). She was rude to me asking why I’m unhappy as Jerry had always responded to my concerns. When I tried to explain she interrupted me and said, “I’m busy scheduling three crews and I’m not going to waste my time talking to you any longer” and hung up on me. I waited to post feedback thinking that Gardner would do the right thing to correct the problem. This last contact demonstrates the kind of company they are. I would never use again and will be contacting my lawyer tomorrow.

Gardner construction returned my call the day after I requested a quote here. By the end of the week, they came out to discuss what needed completed and provided a quote. The initial quote was for a stamped concrete patio that was 28x11 ft. Everything about the job was discussed on include correcting some drain tile that came down from the eaves. The initial job was quoted as 308sqft. and was around $6,500. I confirmed this over email and inquired about a confirmed drawing and official written quote. The foreman called me on Monday a week after providing quote and said it would be better to come "stake it out" so he came that evening and said they wanted to start work the next day. He drew out the boundary lines we discussed and didn't mention changes to the cost. I had to scramble that evening to rip up my irrigation solenoid box and hosing so that it would not be in the middle of the patio when they poured. The next day they began work and after they had all the forms built, he emailed me that evening telling me the size was 465sqft and that the cost would be about 150% of our original quote at $9400. I didnt feel that there was much recourse at this point and confirmed the square footage myself prior to agreeing to changing. Ultimately, the patio looks great and turned out as desired, however I would have gotten a few other quotes had I known the final landed cost. Next job I have done will get everything in writing with a design prior to being hired.

Work was done neat and professionally. The new walkway looks great and correctly channels water away from the house.

Crew was able to start within 2-3 weeks of the date the estimate was provided. Skilled and experienced men on the crew. Communicated with me regularly while the work was in progress for preferences and to be sure small details were covered. Cleaned up after themselves well. The crew was able to remove an old concrete patio slab without disturbing a row of perennial plants on one side of the patio. Quality materials were used. Grading functions as expected, draining water away from the residence.

Seth provided outstanding service. He came to my house at my request several times to thoroughly explain what he would do and recommended a much less extensive project than other companies I consulted. He and his crew were punctual, careful and extremely competent. An absolutely professional and seamless experience.

Overall great experience with Gardner in installing approximately 50 linear feet of drain tile in our basement. Basement has had periodic spring water seepage (specifically with the record snow storm and subsequent melt), was finally time to permanently fix. Submitted an online request for a quote on Sunday, was called mid-morning Monday to schedule and Bill was out on Wednesday. Took a look around the house for grading issues and reviewed basement. Bill was knowledgeable, informative, and very professional, clearly knew what he was talking about. Quote came back quickly, thought it was a little high, but trusted the quality would be there (and it was). I moved the washer/dryer/sink/toilet in preparation for the work. Installation began only a week later. Crew was prompt at 7:30am, went right to work on removing cement floor around the perimeter of the basement walls, installed sump basket and piping in no time. Project was wrapped up by 1:00pm. Quality of the install was amazing, they took a lot of care and pride in their work. The process is messy by nature, they did a good sweep when wrapping up, but still had a few boot prints, not a big deal. Would recommend giving Gardner a call if considering drain tile, I'm glad I did.

Seth and team were very responsive and professional. They did a great job patching and resurfing front & back old concrete stairs. Ryan also came back quickly to fill in a few more gaps that I missed on the final review and filled in one area of concern with concrete.

We got an estimate from Gardner for installing drain tile and a sump pump. Their estimate was competitive, but ultimately we went with another company. However, I was very impressed by Jerry and would definitely consider his company for other jobs. It was just overall a very nice, easy experience. And it's always great having the person who will be doing the work also be the one taking a look at the job. I could tell he had a real depth of knowledge.

Driveway looked good for 1.5 years, then began to spall (chip off on top). They came out and looked at it and blamed salt usage and traffic from driving over it. I don't use salt, and even if a little got on there it wouldn't cause it to start to chip off, nor would driving on a driveway. Not impressed. It's a pretty safe bet that the concrete sat in the truck too long before getting poured

Jerry was very nice & promptly came out & got us an estimate. The guys that replaced the window well & did the grading in the back yard did a nice job & cleaned everything up. We would definitely hire them again.

I am very pleased with the job that Jerry and his crew did. We got an interior basement drain tile with new sump pump. They also re-graded one corner of the exterior landscaping, added a thick water shield material over that area, and adjusted the downspout. The work went smoothly. It did not take as long as I expected. Clean up was thorough - the basement was not dusty afterwards. I appreciated that Jerry was onsite for the job. The crew was friendly, cheerful and professional. While adding the exterior water shield mat means we can longer have plants there, I think addressing the water problem was more important. We chose Gardner over the other bid because they would do that exterior work and because they said they could work around a couple obstacles in the basement instead of us having to remove them.

Everything went really well. Bill, who gave the estimate, was friendly, professional and informative. We were able to get the work done within two weeks of the estimate. The crew showed up punctually, did good quality work in a short time span, and cleaned up the site when they were done.
