We had issues with mice coming into the house and the pest company we used suggested having the foundation checked and re-tucked. We also had a section of the foundation where an old window had been boarded up and needed to be fixed. We called Garner Construction and they came out right away, gave a bid and were able to get the job done within a few days. The work was neat and excellent and was done in a few days. Best of all - no more mice! They did find some small holes where they had gained entry. Would highly recommend them.

My basement was leaking. The company identifed the problem, wrote a detailed and professional estimate, and once they received approval, completed the work. Specficially they installed fresh, heavy duty plastic to outer walls of basement, increased the grade so water ran away from the house and installed trim and rock to the side of house impacted. The finish was very nice and, more importantly, no more leaks! We just had a major storm last night and no more water in the basement. I am sure this wasn't a complicated fix, but they handled it with professionally and successfully.

We found Gardner on Angie's list. Our request for an estimate was met promptly, the estimate was reasonable, and the project itself completed beautifully. They replaced 70+ year old basement windows with glass block windows, repaired the entire foundation, replaced window wells, and built up surfaces around the house so water will drain away. There is nothing more we could have asked of them.

They were fabulous. The proposal was a bang up job but the dollars just didn't work so we didn't use them. It was a very thorough and professional proposal. We plan on passing the exterior proposal to the Townhouse association since it was so well done.

Excellent! We called Gardner Construction on 3/13/12 and talked to Jerry. He came out the same day and gave us an estimate. He said we would have to wait until the ground thawed before we could have the above work completed. The following week the ground thawed (with the early spring we're having) and we had the work done. Jerry and his crew were here at 7:30 a.m. on 3/22/12. They completed all of the work in a timely manner. They were all very professional and courteous. After they had left you would never have known that anyone had been working in the basement or yard, their cleanup was so thorough. They did a fabulous job and we would call them again in a hearbeat! We would highly recommend them to anyone for basement waterproofing!!

We went through the concrete in the garage, which is the job that they really wanted. However, they talked me out of it. They wanted to use something else instead of concrete, which I was not too sure about. That is kind of how it was left. It didn’t get anywhere. They have not got back to me with an estimate.

I was very satisfied with the painting job. They did a good job. Their pricing was pretty fair. They were very responsive; they were anxious to get the job.

Very pleasant to deal with. They had the best price. Problem was it took them weeks to get back to me after my initial phone call and by that time we were committed to another supplier

They were professional and punctual. They came out and gave me a quote. Their price of $11,000 was way over what I was willing to pay, so that is why I did not choose them. I would consider contacting them again in the future if needed.

I used them for a couple of projects in 2010 and I thought they were a fantastic contractor to work with. They are easy to talk to and did everything they said they would do. This company was also on schedule and had nice payment terms so I was very pleased with how it came out. I will use them again in the future.

We got a quick great response from Gardener. The bid took a little while to get (it was written out and snail mailed) but was complete and competent. Bill really seemed to understand what we needed and was happy to go over the project verbally a few times to make sure we were on the same page. The work was completed fast and perfectly. They cleaned up after themselves and did a great job! Will are hiring them again for work on our house- VERY happy with the service!

They showed up on time the date agreed to do the repair. They were neat and finished 2 coats of resurfacong that day. I have more foundation that will probably need the same repair process in a couple years--the foundation was painted with the wrong paint and holds moisture. I will call Gardner when I have to do more foundation repair.

The project went very well. The crew worked hard and got the job done in a couple of days. They were very neat and cleaned up after what was a very messy job (water was still coming in as they were installing the drain tile).

I spent $4000 on that work. It was excellent. He provided services for $1000 less than a competitor.

I had a wonderful experience with them. They totally knew what they were going. I would recommend everything about them. I had a lot of confidence in everything they did. They paid a lot of attention to the job. The person who came to do the estimate was here when they did the job. That meant a lot to me. The crew was great. They talked to me and answered all the questions I had. I highly recommend them to others.

Contacted Gardner Construction to get a quote on installing some landscape and sump pump drainage. Scheduled appointment with Bill Thursday morning 4/14. 30 minutes past the scheduled time, no Bill, no call, no e-mail. After an hour, I ended up calling them to find out what happened, somehow my appointment was forgotten (i.e. recorded at the office, but either forgotten or not communicated to the person it was assigned to). Re-scheduled for the following afternoon, surprisingly he did show up and on time, too. Proposal for a drainage system was less imaginative than other proposals I had received, but was still very interested in receiving a quote (given their alledged expertise in this area). Bill told me that he would mail out a paper quote in the next week, and apologized for missing the appointment the next day. All would have been well, if I had ever actually received a quote or follow up from them. No paper quote ever came in the mail, and no one ever contacted me to see if I had received it or if I had any questions (which I would assume they would do if they had actually sent it out). I can't imagine using this company after these two intitial negative experiences, I can only imagine that I would have to manage the project myself. This feeling was only reinforced by the other highly-rated Angie's list providers that I contacted and who showed up on time, and provided quotes within the timeframe they defined for themselves.

Our basement was leaking a large amount of water up through the floor near an exterior wall with the spring thaw. I called on Saturday to try to arrange a quote and got the call back on Monday, then promptly arrived on Tuesday to inspect and give us the estimate. On Wednesday the work was done quickly, respected our property, cleaned up well. The problem was diagnosed as a problem with the drainage system for our pre-existing tiled drainage system. When he got in there on Wednesday he discovered that there was silt clogging the gravel around the drain pipe . He dug out the gravel around the pipe and replaced it and poured new concrete. Although I am no basement expert, he explained the problem clearly and simply fixed the problem and did not try to add "extra things" to make more work for himself. I admit I relied on Angie's list previous reviews and didn't get multiple quotes. As there was water constantly leaking onto my carpet and making a general mess, I was not in the mood for lengthy comparison shopping.

It was great, we liked them and thought they did a good job. I thought the price was fair. We wouldn't have hired them if we weren't agreeable to the amount.

I was very impressed with their service. They were on time and on estimate. When a problem occurred with my sump pump drainage, (not their fault), they came out immediately and reworked the plumbing. I can't say enough about this company. Very professional and helpful!!!

I don't think they could have improved on anything. They were very knowledgeable, professional, and did more than I even asked for. When they straightened out the wall it was above and beyond.

I appreciated his quick response and his ability to see what needed to be done. I also appreciated that he did not try to sell us services we did not need.

Everthing went as planned. We passed city inspection. We only have to wait 3 weeks before the company can apply the sealer.
