was on time, was able to do work a couple days after our first talk on phone. i did not feel uncomfortable having him in my home. he was very kind, and helpfull.

I normally try not to be overly emphatic with my reviews on Angie's List - it tends to come off a little ingenuine when I do. That said, I can't say enough how great an experience I had with Eric Bernhardt of Eric's Handyman Service. Yesterday a large wrought iron railing attached to the front of my home simply fell off. Yes, I had noticed before that the bolts holding the railing on were a bit loose, but didn't realize exactly how loose they were. After what was probably around 80+ years (we have an old home), the wood that was holding the bolts in place simply deteriorated and there wasn't enough support to keep the railling attached. After inspecting the holes, I realized I just wasn't confident enough that I could reattach the railing without messing something up. Since it's the front of our home, I wanted to make sure it was done right. This is where Eric came in. I called Eric last night (Friday) around 7pm. Since we have company coming over tonight (Saturday), my wife was hoping we could have it fixed before they arrived - not exactly easy to find a handyman that will come over and work on Saturday morning when you're calling late on Friday night. Regardless, Eric answered the phone and although he had a full day of work ahead of him, offered to come over at 6:30am to try to help before his 8am appointment. I was impressed. Upon arrival, Eric examined the railing and the holes, explained what the problem was and that he could fix it using the materials he had with him. However, he went on to say that he wasn't 100% comfortable that the bolts he had were long enough and would like to get new ones at a hardware store later in the day and come back to ensure the job was done right. I'm guessing the price would've been the same if he had simply fixed it on the spot with the shorter bolts or taken the time to get longer bolts and come back later in the day, but Eric wanted to do it right. Obviously, I concured. Sure enough, after his morning job (and during his lunch time, I might add), he came back with the right materials and was able to reattach the railing properly. I was extremely satisfied with the work and my wife was thrilled that it got done well before company arrived. Not only would I use Eric again, but I would strongly advocate his services to anyone looking for a handyman. He's an easy going, straight-forward guy who really seemed to know his trade and explained what he was doing every step of the way. His fees are very reasonable and less than many other handymen I've spoken to. In addition, he kindly waived his standard 2 hr minimum and gained himself a new lifetime customer in the process. Absolutely wonderful! I was EXTREMELY pleased with the level of service I received from Eric. All aspects of the aforementioned ratings say it all. Every aspect of the Eric's work was excellent. I had the feeling like he was working on his own house and did everything like he himself would be reaping the benefits of his great work.

Eric is professional, punctual, courteous and does solid work. He was very accomodating with my odd schedule, and performed services promptly. I have hired him since this work was done and wouldn't hesitate to do so again.

Eric showed up on time, he called 5 minutes before to let me know he was running late due to another appointment and showed up within 10 minutes of our scheduled time. Eric was friendly, professional and a fast worker. I showed him the job and he knew exactly what he needed to get the job done. There was light rain all day, and we discussed the option of doing the work in my garage, but he chose to set up outside to keep the mess out of the house. He completed the job in less than two hours and I hardly knew he was in the house except for the fact that my closet doors were back in place. The job was well done and there are no visible signs of them being cut down. I would definately recommend Eric and will use him again for other jobs around the house.

Eric helped us catch up with some lingering to-dos. He was very courteous, efficient, and helpful. He gave me solid instructions for purchasing the correct replacement faucet for our utility sink and worked on other tasks while I went to buy the part (after offering me the option to find the faucet himself). He was very good-natured about our boxer too. (The dog was very excited to meet a new friend.)

Eric did some remodeling for us in our commercial space. He was very competent, extremely fast, courteous and easy to work with. His work came in well under his estimate (and he was flexible with the work load, also) and we really enjoyed working with him. We will definitely consider him for work in the future.

The newly installed fan works great, Eric did a great job installing it, it is flush with the ceiling for a nice clean professional look. He cleaned up afterwards as some installation fell from the attic as is going to happen. He called me the night before just to ask if he was late if that was alright as it had snowed and it was thought the traffic would be bad. However he got here right on time and was very easy to talk to, just a real nice guy who got the work done well.

Eric is concerned with promptness, quality of work. and overall customer satisfaction. He arrived on time and had with him what he needed to do the job. He worked so fast he was able to also do a small wall repair in the time he had allowed for the patio door repair. Eric is the guy to call for the small "to-do" lists that everyone has but never gets around to doing. Eric does great work.

I highly recommend Eric. He was very professional, honest and cleaned up after the work was complete. Everything you'd hope to have in a contractor. I will use his services again this spring when the snow has melted!

Eric was able to arrange to get the job done the same day I called him. He was very sympathetic to the fact that if the job was not done ASAP I would have smoke detectors chirping at me all night. The cost may seem a bit steep to others but for me it was well worth it. I have 15 foot ceilings and there is no way I'm getting on a ladder to do this. I was most impressed with the quick response and his ability to get the job done the same day I called.

The home is in Minnesota and I live in Phoenix. The service felt like it happened one mile away. Eric is great!

Eric made 3 trips to my house because of the nature of the work. Although he had said at first that he had a 2-hour minimum each time he came, he didn't hold me to that on a day when the work took only 1 1/2 hours, which was nice. Eric put down tarps and cleaned up after himself each day. He was professional, and he worked hard and got the work done quickly. The quality of his work is also impressive; you wouldn't know that either of my bathroom ceilings had been patched if we didn't tell you. I wouldn't hesitate to use Eric again, or to recommend him to anyone.

I called two handymen services on Angie's List - Eric's and Cady. Eric responded within a few hours and two days later I'm still waiting for a return call from Cady. Eric was also able to fit me in his schedule for the next day. I'm not certain I would have had the same responsiveness from a larger service provider and at a reasonable rate. Eric was easy to work with and identified the source of my plumbing leak rather quickly. Eric had to cut into the drywall behind my utility sink to find that someone had punctured a water pipe with a nail, which was done at time of construction eight years ago. Eric was careful to cut a square access hole so he could replace the sheetrock with two screws for future access. I would have never thought of doing that and that is another value of using someone that knows what they are doing. Well worth the money. Eric also provided estimates and advice on future projects and scheduled a date for the work to be completed. I highly recommend Eric due to his responsiveness, knowledge, and flexibility.

It was nice to have a bunch of different problems solved. He was very responsive about giving an appointment even though he couldn?t come out right away; he was obviously pretty popular. He was able to come when he said he would. I would use him again in future.

Excellent. He was the first to return my call on Thur. afternoon for our urgent shower repair need. He came exactly at 7:30 am Friday for an estimate, bought the parts, and came back in the afternoon to do the repair. He was very professional, friendly, and priced right. I will hire him again.

We had our driveway replaced. Their was an existing downspout that would dump water on a new driveway expansion, and a decorative post that would be in the way of the driveway workers. Eric worked around our schedule to ensure some changes were made to prep for the driveway replacement.

Eric is a class act. He knows his craft and his demeanor is professional. He came when he said he would, he did a really nice job and he didn't leave a mess.

Eric did an awesome job. His work area was always left neat and clean and he was very conscientious. The work he did couldn't have been done any better.

Initial call sounded promising other then that fact he was booked out for a month. We had a misunderstanding that he was going to call back with a date OR if something opened up. Neither occurred and then one day he called and said he could be there the next day. I didn't get the message but got his card in my front door. Follow-up call: he said I had made an appt for the date he showed up- and I know for a fact I hadn't (travel planned for business well in advance). Now he is booked out by a month again. Good for him. He seems unorganized, saying he had scribbled down question marks for the missed date. I think if you plan to use him get date & time in writing. As for me, I am moving on. It may not be an emergency, but I can't wait any longer.
