Bloomington Heating & Air Conditioning

I called with water leaking from my furnace/ac unit. They're earliest appointment was in one week, but since I had to be home for another tradesman the next day, they said they would try to work me in. And they did! And its a good thing -- the leak had increased overnight. I got a phone call from the serviceman and he arrived about 15 minutes later. He quickly went to work, diagnosing and fixing the problem. About 45 minutes later, he was finished. Called me down to the utility room and showed me what he had done. The woman I spoke on the phone was very friendly and professional and the serviceman who arrived was too.I was very pleased with the experience overall and would definitely use them again.

I had read rave reviews on Angie's list about Bloomington Heating and A/C, but I'm not sure I really expected to be as impressed as I was. Both the receptionist and Scott were extremely accommodating and tried to fit my schedule, even when I made a last-minute change. Scott was informative, honest about what he could offer and what he could not, and the price was very reasonable. On the day of installation, everything seemed to go smoothly. Both Scott and Ivan were friendly with my nervous dog, considerate of my needs, and very professional. Scott is so pleasant and offers great advice, but is also clear when he is expressing his opinion and when he is offering factual information. I am grateful to have found this company and will certainly consult them again if necessary.

The estimate went very well. We discussed what we thought that our needs were.Scott Newgaard, the owner, made a slightly different recommendation based onour needs and we went with it. His bid was almost $ 900.00 less than the othertwo bids we got, and the equipment was higher performance and quality. They came to install the equipment when they said they would, and everything wascompleted the same day. They explained things as they went along, and recommendeda better, higher tech humid ifier, which we put in. They showed us that everything wasworking, and trained us on the new thermostat. They cleaned up everything and left about 5:30 PM.

It was excellent. They were very professional. Their prices were reasonable. Everything they did was very good.

The president of the company came out on less than 3 hours notice. He turned out to be one of the nicest, most honest, and most knowledgeable people I've ever met in Heating and A/C repair and replacement. He quickly confirmed the situation have been diagnosed correctly and showed me supporting evidence. When I asked him what he'd do in my shoes, his response was prompt, "I'd buy a new furnace. But since I'm trying to sell you a new furnace my judgement might be a bit skewed." There didn't seem to be much this guy didn't know about the different models of furnaces and how they compared against each other and his explanations were quick and complete. For example, he didn't compete directly against one of his competitors bids because he acknowledged that they had a superior product but he chose a slightly different way to compete where he felt he had a superior product. His prices were rock-bottom (his competitors were a bit wigged-out when they found out roughly what he was charging) and his company was very flexible about coming out quickly with very little notice. The only thing that kept me from going with him was that I had sunk about $400 into earlier repairs with another company and that company was willing to rebate that money back to us. This lowered their price just enough to make it worth our while to stay with them (and we've been very happy with their work). Net Result: Very highly recommended.

Extremely pleased with Bloomington Heating & Air Conditioning! Scott, the owner, came out and personally did the estimate, spending 2 hours with me to ensure the right equipment and the right price. I was interested in zone heating which he said he could deliver, but suggested against it because he thought we could solve for the extreme cold in the basement (during summer) by adjusting fan speeds, duct settings, etc. The installation went extremely well. They said they would get it done in a day and they did. Even though Scott got called away to another job, his employee kept at it until almost 9pm to make sure it was done and done right. BH&AC also ensured that all of the necessary paperwork was completed to get the utility, Carrier and federal tax rebates and credits. All I had to do was sign the paperwork. One last note: Janice, the employee you usually get on the phone, is very kind and knowledgeable. Be careful, you might spend a fair amount of time talking with her about your kids, the weather and other topics.

Polite, friendly, nice to my little barky dog. No attempt to sell more than I asked for. Told me that I put the HEPA filter in backwards without making me feel dumb. Good people. I had my home energy audit the following week and my furnace is actually running 2.9% above the stated efficiency - auditor was impressed.

I had a great experience with BH&A. I solicited four bids for my project, and BH&A by far had the best price. They did not oversell me (I don't like the glossy pitch books); just gave me an assessment of my situation, a recommendation, some options, and a clear price. They were professional, knowledgeable, timely, polite, and good to work with. Clearly the best choice if your project is in the suburbs (I don't believe they do work in the City of Minneapolis).

Our air-conditioning stopped working over one of the very hot weekends in July. We called Bloomington Heating and Air Conditioning on the following Monday morning to come and look at it. We were given an afternoon time for the workman to come, however, we mentioned that we have a newborn baby in the house, so they offered to schedule for someone to come out immediately. The workman arrived quite soon after we placed the call and he established that a capacitor needed replacing. He had to get a spare part and said he would be back within 30 minutes, which he was. The capacitor was fixed in no time and the air-conditioning has been working well ever since. We only give them a 'B' on price, as we did not expect to pay a $25 travel charge.

Terrific! Scott (owner) gave great service from estimate to the end of the job. Arrived promptly, explained options for replacement. I liked that the owner was present during the installation. Their price was most competitive of the 3 bids I received. From start to finish, this was a terrific company to work with. I would definitely call them again to do work in my home - and recommend them to friends. Great company - great owner.

On the hottest day of the year, our AC went out. It was 100 degrees outside and we were miserable. I called for service late Monday afternoon and was told that Steve would call when he could get us in. They were so busy that they couldn't schedule a time. However, Steve contacted me by 11 AM the next day. So even though they were busy, the response time was very good. I explained the problem we were having with the AC and then Steve took a look at our unit. He told me it was probably low coolant but checked to be certain. Then he added coolant and checked that the AC was working properly afterward. Steve was very knowledgeable and patient. Even though I knew he was extremely busy, he took his time to ensure the problem was fixed. We also had several non-related questions about our AC and he patiently answered each one. The cost of the service was very reasonable and we were very pleased. This is a guy that knows his stuff and will also provide great customer service. We had a wonderful experience and will definitely call them again.

We are always happy with the service provided by Bloomington Heating & Air Conditioning Company. The technician that came out last was a very nice man. We bought our furnace and air conditioner from them. They are good. I would continue to use them in the future.

Great experience from the estimate to completed job. I liked that the owner did the estimate and was here the day of installation. The day of the estimate, Scott was very good to explain the furnace and ac he recommended and answered my questions then, during and after the installation. Price was the best of the estimates I got. Would highly recommend this company and would use them again.

They were nice people and did a nice job. It was worth a lot of money. They were very price-competitive. They got it done when I needed to get it done for the rebates. The whole thing worked out well. I would recommend them. I would rate them highly and would use them again in the future if necessary.

Our furnace installation went very smoothly from estimate to finish. Scott did an excellent job of explaining our options and walking us through the operation of the new equipment. very clean when they left, definitely a class operation.

The owner visited our home on three (3) different dates prior to signing a contract with BHA. BHA has approximately five (5) employees. They were very courteous, prompt, and answered all of our questions. Like other diligent folks, we received multiple bids. We went with BHA because they seemed to be very honest and straight forward. When they visited our home - they didn't care so much about the sale but wanted to educate us on the process. We found this to be extremely helpful. The day of the instal took longer than expected. They were at our home from 7:30am - 9pm. Although the install took a long time, they did not skip a beat, complain about the process, or give excuses. Instead, they stayed at our home longer than normal to make minor adjustments that needed to be done. For this, we were very grateful. If you are deciding on a Heating / AC contractor....obviously the choices are endless. Knowing nothing about Heating / AC, we chose BHA because we felt like we could trust them right from the start. Even if our system breaks for what ever reason, I would still contact BHA because of their professionalism. I highly recommend BHA!

When we determined we needed a new furnace and air conditioning unit, we were referred to Bloomington Heating and Air Conditioning by a friend. We couldn't be happier! Scott and his team took the time to not only provide us a detailed quote, but they also did it in a professional, courteous manner. On the day of installation, they were on time and completed the installation of the two units by mid-afternoon. After installation, they even took care of all the necessary paperwork for all the energy rebates we qualified for. We definitely recommend Bloomington Heating & Air Conditioning!

I moved into this home last year and it needed a lot of updating and the furnace included and I begun my journey with multipe heating and cooling contractors. Most of them seem quite knowledgable, but I found out one was not even licensed in Bloomington, MN, so make sure you check with your municipality to make certain they are a licensed with your local city. I was very, very impressed with the the owner Scott and his extreme knowledge of his product line and my complicated duct work and configuration of the home. The house had a major addition added a number of years ago and the previous owner never followed through to install a zoning system installed (you need one on a 7700 sq foot home" so onc thermostat was controlling the majority of the house. Bloomington Heating recommended a Honeywell wireless zone system, which I heard from the other contractors, it is the premier product in the industry. They added several new returns, which made a world of difference so the house was damp, but know feels much more comfortable around the time. I purchased a new Carrier 95% high efficiency furance is very quiet and it has a variable three (3) stage system and works like a charm. I shopped around with about five other contractors and the prices were all over the board, but once I found out exactly what needed to be done, it was easy to price compare, so it pays to get several bids. As it turns out, my old high school buddy who also happens to be a City inspector for Bloomington also confimed this contractor is an A+ rated firm and has personally inspected and seen thier work and said if I hire him, I'll get a professional job and he was so correct. The job not only met my expectations, but exceeded them. The clean up was sensational, and the overall experience with Bloomington Heating was a wonderful experience. In addition, there is a $1500 TAX CREDIT, which is better than a TAX DEDUCTION in 2010, so the entire system priced out extremely well, considering I'll get nice credit back on my 2010 tax returns. Hire this contractor with confidence and don't take my word for it, read the comments from Angie's satisfied customers. Finally, he mentioned, that I wouldn't need to spend a dime until the job was completed and to my satisfaction, which also increased my confidence in the firm.

They were prompt and kept to their price. They cleaned up well and everything went smoothly. When the city inspector came he was impressed with the work that was done.

Wonderful company to work with, I will hire them again and would recommend them to anyone. Very polite, knowledgeable and explained what they were doing completely. We had them come to look at our crawl space after our "contractor" told us we could just poke a few holes in the duct work and that would keep the new plumbing from freezing. The plumber did not agree, so we called Bloomington Heating and Air and a few others. They had the best price and spent more time looking at the job providing different suggestions to us. In the end, we figured it would be best to have them install the duct work with a damper (so we could turn it off in the cooling season). We also asked them to add two return vents in our basement and thermostat. We were very pleased!

I had 3 companies bid the job Bloomington Heating and Air Conditioning was 35% less expensive than the next closest bidder. The other companies bidding on the job claimed how we would probably not be able to install a high efficiency furnace because of the layout of our house. Scott (Owner of BH&AC) came in and said it would be a challenge but that he was confident that with a little effort it could be achieved. They had the high efficiendy furnace installed and running in a day the work was GREAT, The furnace area was cleaner when they were done then when they started. I have since referred them to two friends and both have been thrilled experiencing the same quality service and aggressive pricing that I received.

Scott the owner came out at 6pm and went over the options. Gave me the top of the line carrier model with all of the rebates. Which made good sense.

I received four bids and theirs was the best. They were very prompt and everything worked out well. I would use them again.
