The whole experience was great. We decided very late in the fall to replace the roof because we wanted to fix a plumbing leak in the attic and have the new stack flashed with the roof. Bob came out within a few days of our call and we got on the schedule soon after that. Bob has lots of integrity--told us we really didn't need the roof replaced yet (we decided to go ahead b/c of the plumbing problem). The crew were very respectful and Bob had a foreman (Nick, his son) on site regularly and I could call him at any time with questions or concerns. The cleanup was perfect, and Nick came out again after the crew had left to make sure things were clean and that there wasn't any damage. When our bathroom fan didn't work after the job was done, Bob was out the next day to figure out the problem and he got it working again (debris had gotten into the fan). The gutters are fantastic, the guy who did them made them drain into our rain barrels--a custom job. All in all, it was a great experience and I was impressed with the integrity and professionalism of everyone at Wright at Home. Plus, I'm pretty sure we got the last roof replaced this season, before the snow fell!
Description of Work: The old roof was torn off and replaced with a new one (25 year shingles), plus we got new gutters and gutter shields. The footrprint of the house is about 500 sf and we don't have have a lot of gutter footage.

We were having trouble finding a company that would take the time to bother with such a small job. The people at WRIGHT-AT-HOME-SERVICES INC welcomed our business, came out when they said they would and got it done. The serviceman was professional and friendly. We were pleasantly surprised when he walked up on the roof, did the repair, packed up, and said "no charge". We are impressed at every level regarding this company and will not hesitate to use them again.
Description of Work: A very small job - some leaky flashing around our furnace chimney needed to be repaired/sealed.

I began this project greatly concerned about some of the horror stories one hears about roofing contractors. I contacted Wright-At-Home from Angie's List and found Bob, the owner great to work with. He was very straightforward, and very patient at explaining my options and what I didn't understand. I chose the timing of this project because I had the beginnings of a leak on the second floor, so I had to do this now. I was still interviewing other contractors, and hadn't made a decision yet, although I was already leaning toward working with Wright-At-Home, when some more rain came in. I talked to Bob, hoping to be able to pay him to put a temporary patch on the leaking area, and he just sent his crew out to do it the next day, without wanting payment or demanding that I sign with him first. I completed my evaluations, and Bob's price was very competitive and I choose him because of his honest and open dealings with me. I have to say that I was also impressed with the fact that he helped me out by patching that leak for me, with no guarantee that I would sign with him for the project. Maybe it was great salesmanship, but it confirmed the conclusion I was already coming to. The work itself went very well, without any hiccups. The removal and re-shingling took 2 days. The yard was immaculate when they were done. I think I've found 4 nails that they missed with their yard magnet. Bob or his son were on-site a lot and saw that everything was done correctly. The soffets, fascia and gutters were completed next, and look great. I have a bit of an incorrect tilt to my roof line in one area, and the gutter guys were able to not only get the water to drain properly away from that area, but also managed to disguise the defective slope, so that you have to really know what you're looking for to even see it now. I have only high praise for Bob and his team. I cannot find a single thing that I wish was done differently. I recommend Wright-At-Home with no reservation whatever.
Description of Work: This 1917 house had 3 layers of shingles on the 2nd floor roof, and some small leaks had developed. The first floor was an addition and had been only been roofed once, in 1978. Wright-At-Home removed two layers of cedar shingles and one layer of asphalt shingles from the 2nd story roofing and the one layer of asphalt shingles from the 1st story addition. They removed an unused chimney to below roof level on the 2nd story and put decking over the hole. They replaced some decking on the 2nd floor, and added additional venting. They installed new lifetime warranty shingles on entire roof. They removed old shake siding on the front and back 2nd story dormer and replaced it with vinyl siding to make it maintenance free. They then removed all of the existing fascia and installed new fascia on both levels. The new fascia was wrapped with aluminum, and then they installed new soffets on both levels. Finally, seamless gutters was installed on both levels, including new oversized downspouts. They helped find the best and least obstrusive locations for the new downspouts to better move water from some low areas around the foundation.

The professionalism of the entire staff at Wright-at-home is second to none. I was completely at ease with working with Bob and all of the different crew members that worked on my house. Communication was excellent and punctuality was flawless. The only reason I gave a "B" on quality was that the original diagnosis of my leaky roof was incorrect. After the work was completed there was still a leak. I called at first sight of the leak and Bob was right over (within 30 minutes) to check on the work and immediately found a solution to the problem. A temporary fix was installed to get us through the night and the crew was at my house the next morning to fix the problem permanently. I found this level of professionalism absolutely refreshing and would not hesitate to use them again for future projects. I would certainly also feel good about recommending them to friends and family in the future.
Description of Work: Replaced one gutter and 2 downspouts. Installed addtional new and replaced (and refitted) old soffitt vents. Blow in insulation in the entire attic. Replaced 3 roof vents. Reroofed a portion of the roof in order to fix a leak

Thank you for the honest report. Leaks are a funny thing, sometimes they are hard to pinpoint on the first try. I believe that is why most roofers don't specialize in repairs. Bottom line is you have to keep searching until you finally resolve leaks. Thanks

Aaron and his crew (including Willie) were professional when quoting and worked carefully to get the job done. Rain slowed the process, but he called regularly to update on the plans and progress. The quality of the work is lovely.
Description of Work: They replaced two pieces of siding on our garage and added trim/siding around our second floor dormer at the roof line (which was needed but never installed from the previous roofers). They painted the trim to match the house.

The project was fast, clean and the roof looks very good. I did not really notice our roof before and the product we chose with Wrights recommendation really improves the look of our home. This process took about 1 week from the time I called Wright at Home to the completion of the project. A great project.
Description of Work: I set up an appointment to bid the job, Jamie, arrived on time. He was very detailed in explaining the roofing system they use and why. He had broucheres of the product along with color samples. Provided a bid as we spoke, and was able to assign an approximate date to begin work. We hired Wright on the spot. I was confident that this company would do what they talked about. The crew arrived the next week. I was called and told the job may be delayed due to weather. The crew showed up the next dry day and worked very hard. There were 2 layers of roofing material to remove. They finished the roof promptly, and neatly! I highly recommend this company for any roofing needs. Great communication, and a hard working team.

It was completely a positive experience with them. They were wonderful. They were on time and congeal, and they even waited a month for payment because I could not pay them and was waiting for big payment.
Description of Work: I used Wright-At-Home-Services Inc. in September and they fixed some leaks that were occurring around the dormer, so they stripped the roof off and put lining and then put the roofing and the shingles back on the dormer.

The inspector signed off on Tuesday. Bob also had a drywall man come in & repair the ceiling in my foyer wher the water leaked in around the roof vents. He was very buisness & courteous also. He called before coming out to be sure I would be there to show him just what I wanted done. H finished the job in approx 5 hrs.
Description of Work: Bob estimated the job & was competitive with another roofer in the area. He had showed us samples of the shingles & explained the warrenties in full & sent us his certificate of insurance along with a lien waver which I had to remind him to do. I placed the order with him on 9-12-09 & he had materials and a dumster on 10-15-09. They began at 8:00 am on 10-16-09 with a crew of 8 men. They worked non stop till jst about dark. Then then completely cleaned up everything with magnets Y leaf blowere. Not a shrub or anthing was damaged.. They finished in 3 hours on Saturday morning by 10:00am. House, shed & gasebo.

Thank you for the great report. Just one clarification on obtaining lien waivers prior to work starting. We do not supply lien waivers until the job is paid in full. The lien waiver is not only for the homeowners protection but, for the contractors to ensure we get paid for the work performed. Thank you.

The sales rep returned our phone calls promptly. After contacting Wright At Home Services the sales rep. came out the next day to give us an estimate. We called back on Saturday to hire Wright At Home and were able to get the roof fixed on Monday in about an hour. Wright At Home's estimate was about $100 less than the other estimates we got. On top of that the rep. was courteous and cleaned everything up after the job was done. I would definitely hire them again.

My experience with Wright at Home was exceptional. In addition to quality work, Bob made sure to keep me informed regarding progress due to weather setbacks (rain and snow!). The roofing team was efficient, friendly, and clean-up was immaculate. Some rotten wood was found when they took off the old garage shingles, and Bob replaced this at no extra charge. I am extremely happy with the job and would not hesitate to recommend Wright-at-Home Services.

We sought three bids, two from Angie's List top performers and one from a company that knocked on our door. The company at our door wouldn't submit a bid, and tried to talk me out of seeking bids. Wright-at-Home was nearly the low-bid, but not quite. We awarded it to them because they offered a materials upgrade that others weren't offering, and they matched the low bid. They got started a couple days after we made our choice, and removed our old roof and replaced the new one, complete with a completely different venting system, in one day. The set up and clean-up were impeccable. No landscaping was destroyed and no trace was left. Our insurance adjuster had been pushing us to use one of their approved roofing contractors, but after he saw the bid and the final product he told us how amazed he was that we got such a great price and such a great upgrade of materials. The people were professional, knowledgeable and flexible. Great experience.
Description of Work: We had a hail damaged roof. They removed our old roof, replaced it with a better roof and installed more efficient and less noticeable ridge vents.

Summary: Wright-At-Home-Services did a superb job of reroofing our house in all aspects (Safety, Quality, Cost and Time). I recommend them without reservation. Details: Our insurance agent had inspected our roof after a late July hail-storm and told us the entire roof needed replacing. Using Angie's list, I selected 3 roofing contractors for interviews. My selection criteria, in order of priority were: 1) safety --- the roofers while on my roof; nails and excess materials left on my property or my neighbors' 2) quality --- roofing materials, competence of the subcontracted installation crew, job site cleanliness, presence of project manager to interface with the roofing crew, communication process 3) cost --- although the cost was going to be covered by insurance, it was still a factor in my selection process. I saw it as an indicator of integrity and, if it was not reasonably close to the insurance estimate, there could be some difficulties in settlement. 4) time -- length of time for completing the job and lead-time for starting the job I called Jamie, the Sales Consultant from Wright-at-Home Services, Inc., on Tuesday to tell him I had selected his company to do the work. Within one hour he confirmed that the project would begin on Thursday. He came out that day and we agreed the details of the work site (such as where the dumpster and work materials would be placed; what flowers and plants needed covering, etc), and signed the contract. We also agreed that Jamie would, at appropriate times, provide me with three lien waviers (from the roofing subcontractor, roofing material supplier, and his firm). He also provided me with the name of the project manager from his firm. Thursday morning, the crew arrived at the agreed time (daybreak) and Jamie introduced me to the crew leader, Jose, and the project manager from his firm, Nick. Throughout the project Nick communicated proactively with me and, on two occasions where he needed to be gone for a short period he notified me, asking if it was okay, and gave me his cell-phone number and emphasized I should call immediately if I had any questions or concerns. The dumpster was situated on boards without damaging my newly blacktopped driveway. The crew of 9 worked industriously for the next 13 or 14 hours and cleaned up the worksite (they rolled a magnetic nail finder over the entire site, used a leaf blower to remove all loose granules, and put all waste materials in the dumpster). They arrived early the next morning (Friday) and finished the job. They had completely cleaned the work site (nail finder, leaf blower, removed all plant coverings, put all waste materials in the dumpster) and had left my home by 3:30 PM. The dumpster was retrieved the next morning (Saturday). From the first arrival of their crew to the last sign of their presence (removal of the dumpster), about 50 hours had passed. I made three payments to the firm: First payment was made at the time of the signing of the contract and was about 20%. Second was the balance of the depreciated value of the roof (about 60%). This was done at the completion of the work and in return I was provided with the lien waivers from the subcontractor and material supplier. These two payments totaled the initial check I had received from my insurance company (i.e. the depreciated value of the roof). The third payment to Wright-At-Home Services (about 20%) was made after I received the second and final payment from my insurance company (basically the difference between the replacement cost and the depreciated value of the roof). In return for this check, I received the lien wavier from Wright-At-Home services. I am very pleased with the professional services provided by this company.

Having never used a roofing contractor previously, I took the advice of a neighbor and tried Angie’s List to find someone to do the work needed to replace our shingle roof. After looking through a number of reviews, I decided to get a quote from Wright-At-Home and one other roofer. Jamie Wright came out to my house as scheduled and took a look at the situation. In addition to providing a comprehensive presentation on Wright’s services and capabilities, he provided me price quotes on a range of shingle options, ranging from 20-year to lifetime warranty. Jamie is friendly, professional, and easy to deal with. He was able to fully answer my questions and address any concerns I raised. I enjoyed speaking with him and got the impression he was interested in doing a good job at a fair price. I told him I’d be getting one other quote and would let him know the outcome. The other roofing contractor I called wasn’t able to see me until the following week. Timing was something of an issue for me as I am also having some other work done around my house (driveway and lawn) this fall but wanted the roof done first. Jamie Wright indicated they could do the work within the next week or two, whereas the other roofer was a couple weeks farther out than that. After meeting with Jamie Wright (but before meeting with the other contractor) I went back on Angie’s List and read every review on Wright-At-Home as well as every review on the other contractor I called. What impresses me about a contractor is not that every Angie’s List review is excellent in every single case, but that a contractor takes the time to address concerns as they are raised by those people who write reviews that are not straight-A’s. This is certainly true for contractors in addition to Wright-At-Home, but Jamie made it very clear that they are very motivated to earn their reputation one customer at a time. The best way to do that is to do good work at a competitive price (with minimum hassle). In addition to wanting someone to do a good job at a fair price, I also wanted someone I felt I could deal with effectively if a problem should arise, either during the job or years down the road. I’m reasonably sure that the other roofer would have given me a fair price and would have done a good job, if only based on Angie’s List reviews. But since I was also concerned with timing, and I had a pretty good feel for what kind of company Jamie Wright was presenting Wright-At-Home to be, I called the other contractor back and cancelled our appointment. I then let Jamie know I was ready to deal with him and would like to get going as soon as possible. Scheduling and any other necessary coordination (permit, material delivery, roll-off, etc.) was a snap. Basically, all I did was choose color, style, and the date I wanted the work done. Wright-At-Home literally did everything else, with Roxanne in the office keeping me posted and taking care to confirm any important information as needed. One week later, the materials and the roll-off were both delivered per schedule without a hitch. The day the job started, Jamie came out with the roofing supervisor, Nick Wright, to make sure things got started smoothly. The roofing work took a day and a half. The crews arrived as scheduled and were friendly and professional. The second day the crew chief knocked on the door to let me know they had arrived and were going to go to work. They diligently cleaned up after they were done. I looked long and hard after they left, but all I could come up with was the cap to someone’s pen (in fairness, the assessor was here at the same time and the pen cap might have been his). The city inspector signed off on the job this week, and in his words, Wright “did beautiful work”. I agree. I would not hesitate to recommend Wright-At-Home to any family or friends looking for quality roofing work. I also had Wright replace some storm-damaged fascia and wrap some cedar trim on the front of my house that I no longer want to have to paint (I have vinyl siding everywhere else). Jamie shot me a quote on that and this work was just done yesterday. The work was done by Willie, and this guy is a Michelangelo with a siding brake! I’m very happy with the look and quality of the work done (although not as happy as I am that I no longer need my 28’ extension ladder). I would have no problem criticizing any contractor and offering constructive suggestions as I felt appropriate. That’s what makes Angie’s List work. Is Wright-At-Home perfect? I doubt it. But I literally did not have a problem and am happy with the results in terms of price, look, quality, timing, customer service, etc. Thanks to Wright-At-Home and also thanks to Angie’s List.

My call was answered promptly at Wright at home and Bob came out exactly when scheduled. He stated the problem was simple, fixed it and stated I did not owe him anything - only to keep him in mind when I replaced my roof in a few years. It has rained hard since and my roof is tight as a drum. I had other estimates of this repair and no one told me the repair was simple! I will be contacting Wright-at-home when I need windows or roofing.

The crew showed up, stripped off the old roof & re-roofed the house in 2 days. They cleaned up everything afterwards. I've found maybe 2 nails since then and that's all.
Description of Work: We had the old shingles removed, and new shingles put on. Our gutter in front was re-attached, as there were problems with the way it had been attached. A cricket was installed on our chimney to improve water drainage, new pipe jacks were installed, new valleys, damper vents and static vents. The roof looks great!

Wright at Home was extremely friendly over the phone and sent someone out almost right away to provide an estimate - then quite a bit of time went by without an estimate. When I phoned them, they were very apologetic and said that the report had erronously slipped thru the cracks, but that they'd have the (contractor?) contact us right away, which he did, and was very nice and apologetic. He came out to my mothers house, went thru the estimate with us, (including a 10% discount for Angie's list plus a 10% discount for older people) and provided the contract and received downpayment. The work began the following week and everything except the door was completed very quickly and efficiently. I would add that we are also very grateful that they did a thorough job in clean up, this is a definite plus! The door had been sub-contracted and that took a little longer to get done, but eventually all work was satisfactorily complete.
Description of Work: My mother's house required some replacement roofing on the back of the house, and also replacement windows on the front porch, as well as a replacement combination door in the back.

Thank you for the honest report. I spoke to the sales person and he did say that the estimate was delayed due to having to consult a subcontractor on the needs of this homeowner. Thank you.

Bob Wright came to the appointment on time, listened to my problem of leak in enclosed porch roof, and inspected the roof. He found that there was an area blocked by debris that was causing a backup of rainwater, and cleaned it out. Then applied new sealant where the old had shrunk. Also inspected another part of the roof for me. He generously did not charge me for this, and I don't need a new roof yet!
Description of Work: Determined reason for roof leak and fixed it.

Inspection and estimate were without charge. Thorough explanation of what should be done. Arrived at the site for work on time and completed the work the same day. Clean up was excellent as was communication with them throughout the process. Excellent work. I would absolutely call on them again.
Description of Work: Re-roofed a "sunroom" area in the front of the house. Also fixed areas around the skylights in the sunroom roof to prevent future leaking. Checked the entire roof and found everywhere else ok.

I called 3 roofers from Angie's list based on reputation. I hope to be living in my house the next 20-30 years and wanted quality work. Bob (owner) stopped by to give me my estimate. Bob gave the most thorough and educational estimate of all 3. Also appealing was that Wright-At-Home is a family run business. I interacted with Bob's sister Roxanne and his son Nick (Nick was onsite during the job) multiple times during the process. The roofing process could not have been any more painless for me. Wright-At-Home took care everything, keeping in communication with me regarding the process and a few special circumstances that came up which they (of course) took care of. Bob and Nick even came back at the end of the week to do some touch up painting. Clean-up was immaculate. This was my first Angie's list hire, and I have to say joining Angie's list and hiring my roofer based off of Angie's list reputation was the smartest thing I've done in some time (my wife will vouch for this!). Go with Wright-At-Home if you want a stress-free roofing experience with quality results!
Description of Work: Wright-At-Home replaced my roof (house and stand-alone garage), reset my gutters, added a "cricket" behind my chimney, and replaced some rotting crown molding.

The Wright At Home guys arrived on time. Rather than telling us what we fully expected to hear they informed us the roof looked in great shape, with just a few hail marks. They found a couple minor holes they volunteered to seal there on the spot, which they quickly did. They advised us on what type of shingles were on the roof, how long they estimated they'd last us (years rather than months), and when I asked (for future planning) they gave me a ballpark estimate for replacing the roof, which I thought was very reasonably priced. Bob and Jamie were professional and cheerful, especially considering they'd driven way out to rural Delano to a job that would end up giving them no business. The next day I talked with Roxanne to get a written report on the condition of the roof to submit to our insurance company (which didn't want to insure a house with a bad roof). Roxanne was professional, friendly and very courteous to me, and sent me an accurate report which will be of great use in getting our house insured. I will definitely call them if and when we do need to replace our roof. A very pleasant experience all around from the whole team at Wright At Home. Thank you!
Description of Work: We are purchasing a house and had been advised by the seller that the roof had sustained hail damage. We believed the roof would need to be replaced. I asked Wright At Home to come out to look at the roof and give us an estimate, informing them of our expectation of needing a whole new roof.

Bob, Roxanne and their entire team are great to work with. They are customer centered. They proactively try to do everything necessary for a top quality job. They are totally honest and ethical. Bob took it upon himself to cover the old plywood with the GAF "breathable" Deck ArmorTM water barrier before the next contractor added the ventilation, etc. He did this to be sure no water would get through the existing structure while the other contractor was working on it. This was not in our contract but Bob did it for no extra charge. Further, in order to minimize the risk of exposure to the elements during the building of the ventilation structure and insulation, Bob did each of the six roof surfaces one at a time. This means 2 separate trips for each of the 6 roof surfaces to remove shingles and then install the new roof. A total of 8 to 10 separate trips. This was also not in the contract but agreed to without a price increase to assure the best quality result. They answer their phone promptly. The times I left a message they got back to me promptly. They carefully listen and respond your expectations. If you have any complaint they respond and resolve it promptly. I was concerned with the color of the fasteners they used on the peak vent and they promptly got the matching color I wanted and replaced the ones they had used so far. They immediately take action on any problems. When we had a leak around one of the skylights during a freeze thaw cycle in the winter they came out and caulked it...the day after it occurred. Then they came out the next spring and applied a double layer of ice and water barrier above and below the skylight flashing. Another example of going beyond the usual practices: Bob Wright always wears special shoes called "cougar paws" with foam soles whenever he was up on the finished roof. This helps prevent any damage to the shingles. He even loaned a pair of these special shoes to our painter so damage would be prevented when he painted the siding and windows above some of the roof surfaces. Wright-At-Home-Services is the best contractor I've ever worked with.
Description of Work: Replaced roof damaged by hail in summer of 2007. Our roof is actually six separate equal surfaces with a total area of 3400 sq. ft. It is fairly steep with a pitch is 8/12. The job was complex because the city required that ventilation be added to our vaulted "hot" roof and we chose to add blown-in insulation to bring it up to code. So after WAHS removed the old shingles and degraded tar paper they installed GAF "breathable" Deck ArmorTM water barrier on entire roof and then tarped each roof. This protected the roof from the elements until another contractor added the ventilation structure, insulation and topped that structure with another layer of plywood. Then WAHServices installed: another layer of GAF "breathable" Deck ArmorTM water barrier on entire roof; 400 square feet of GAF Weatherwatch ice and water shield; GAF Timberline Lifetime shingles on entire roof; drip edges; peak vents along entire top edge. In addition, during the project planning and preparation WAHS: worked with the insurance estimator to photograph and document the damage; tore off a small portion of one roof to verify the sub-roof structure and thickness of the solid insulation below it; met with the city engineer and inspector several times as they reviewed the project and added requirements for ventilation and structural strength to meet building codes; secured a chandelier that had loose screws at the ceiling beam.
