To help prevent ice dams I planned out a roof cable layout and purchased the cables after consulting with an electrical company. Jim and I discussed the plan and he installed the cable and electrical outlet with a little assistance from me. The install went extremely well. I would highly recommend Jim for any electrical work. He was very professional and the price was excellent.

Jim has been great. He is punctual, gets the job done and it very pleasant to work with. I am happy to have found Total Electric and will call them again for any electrical work that I need to done. Thanks Jim.

Excellent. Very punctual and friendly. Installed fans and ensured they were balanced. Gave instructions to us about what we could do ahead of time (get fans out of boxes and begin assembly) to ensure that the process went quickly to save us time and money.

Great job, started with the kitchen outlet. fixed the main one and the rest all worked, have been able to use them in 7 months, but they all work now .then he started on the spot light explained that you can run it to trouble when putting in a can light. I still wanted it. I bought 2 different kinds of lights because I did`t know the size. he showed me which one and why. It looks GREAT. I asked him if he could put my ceiling fan back together. He put all back up for me. he stayed on task the entire time and did a great job.

This is the 2nd time we have used Total Electric. We like the fact that it's a small company that is very professional, very efficient, and takes a real interest in the work they do. We highly recommend them and will use this company again in the future.

Jim came when he said he would. I had forgotten that my granddaughters eighth grade graduation was at the same time but I met with him anyway. After a short rundown of what I asked him to do, I felt assured I could leave him on his own to complete the job while I went to the graduation. I returned after the short graduation just as Jim was packing up and he showed me his work and we settled up.. I hope to have Total Electric help me in the future on other projects.

He came on time. Did the work. Asked if he could help with anything else which he did. I paid him and that was that. Love that kind of service.

I had a very good experience with Total Electrical. They were able to squeeze me in on short notice and had the timinig not worked, they would have rescheduled as needed. I got a call 30 minutes before they got to my house and I was able to zip home to meet them. I had a problem with power to my dishwasher and he was able to identify the issue and resolve it very quickly. He also installed a replacement light fixture. We have also had problems with lights burning out very quickly and he verified that our power was in the right range. He made some suggestions for solutions if the problem continued. Finally, the garage came with a confusing power setup and I wasn't getting power in the yard. He checked things over, found a switch I had missed and got power working in the yard. No huge issues, but a lot of little things that I no longer have to deal with. Most importantly, I have a dishwasher that works again.

Jim did a great job. He was easy to work with and very quick to respond. I had a tight schedule to get the work done and he accommodated me on very short notice. He removed all of my old fixtures and replaced them with new ones. Very nice guy. I would definitely use him again for work in my home and highly recommend him to others.

Jim was great, very quick at getting back to me, very professional, and did great work. I couldn't be there during the day/s he performed the work, and I'm always nervous about leaving contractors in my house along with our nanny and kids. But after meeting him, I was certain I didn't need to worry. I have more electrical work coming up this spring, and I'll definitely have Jim do the work.

Our experience with Total Electric was awesome. They called me the next day and gave us an estimate. They installed a new circuit for a microwave. He was prompt, professional, did very good work. He arranged for the city inspector to come out that day also. All done in one day. I will definitely us Total Electric for any electrical work we need done in the future.

This is the second time I have used Total Electric. Jim is a total professional. Even though he charges by the hour, he doesn't dally. He upgraded the electrical in my bathroom remodel to meet current code - I installed a jetted tub, too. He installed a new ceiling fan. He installed pot lights in the ceiling. He always gets a permit and his work always passes inspection. I will use Total Electric when I next need an electrician. I have and will recommend this company to others.

Power to both downstairs bathrooms, main bedroom ceiling fan and front door bell all went out. The reason was the breaker had tripped. There are two electrical boxes, one in the utility room and the other in the garage. Some of the house circuits are on breakers in the garage electrical box, including the downstairs bathrooms. These rooms are on the same breaker as the septic tank pump. The septic tank pump was starting to fail and would pull more amps when starting up than the breaker could handle. So it tripped, shutting down the septic tank pump and both bathroom circuits. Total Electric diagnosed the problem, disconnected the septic tank pump and got the bathrooms up and running. Tracing the fault back to the septic tank pump, although tricky to do, didn't take Jim that long to figure out. He knows exactly what he's doing and leaves no stone unturned as he makes his way to a solution. A true pro!

This was the third time I've used Jim from Total Electric and once again, the work I needed was done right, looks great and functions even better. He installed 3 strips of track lighting and wired it all back to a cool dimmer switch. Jim had to deal with a false ceiling and various other obstacles, but did everything with good humor and a master touch. I needed a separate outlet for a portable AC unit and Jim advised me the best way to do that and again took care of all the electrical work. He finished up by sorting out and correctly labeling the various breakers in a second electrical box and the whole job was done. I can't fault the guy, not that I'd want to because I want Jim to take care of my next electrical project. Bottom line is, if you want a straight forward and honest guy to take care of your electrics in a competent and professional way, call Total Electric. It's as simple as that.

Jim, the owner, was pleasant and professional. He steered us away from what could not be done due to room limitations to better alternatives. The work was excellent and brightens up a dim basement room into a warm and inviting space. We are very pleased with the job.

When I got a new refrigerator I realized the outlet behind was not grounded and was hanging on. He installed a ground fault interrupter so you can?t overload the circuit. He has put in dedicated circuits for window air conditioning units and stove.

Had a dead circuit in the house and breakers looked to be OK. Called a couple of electricians and they were not available for several days. Called Total and he indicated he could be there in two hours but would call first. He called in a bit over an hour and arrived a half hour later. He checked the breakers and then focused on the electrical sockets, rewired several of them and found the problem with an arcing wire on a socket. Quick, efficient and neat.

Based on the reviews from Angie's List I called and asked if he was interested in this project. He agreed and we set a date. My wife was home when he performed the work. She described his work as exacting. When I arrived home the work was completed with the light and switch working fine. He left me instructions to caulk around the light base which I did so easily.

Jim installed 5 outlets in my house. None of the outlets were in easy locations; three were on outside walls and he had to drill through rocks and cement, and for one he had to crawl around in the small attic. He explained everything he was doing and what might happen if the outside walls were solid concrete or hollow (it's an old house and he didn't know what he'd find in the walls). Jim even found some unsafe old wiring in the house and fixed it. I am very happy with all my new outlets and highly recommend Total Electric.

He was on time, reviewed the work to be done quickly and made approprate recomendations where I didn't possess the knowlege. He worked quickly, efficiently and the quality of his work was OUTSTANDING. The bonus in all of this was that he was a true professional who was kind and respectful that this was someones home that he was in. I now have someone on my list of trusted pro's to call should I need any future work. Thanks Jim, you rule!

We called Jim and he came out the next week to do the work. Estimate was given over the phone. He did a wonderful job with the electrical work. The problem we had was he over charged us by 40 minutes. When we called and asked him about this he said that he was at house house till 2:15pm. I was home while the work was done and he was gone by at least 1:45pm because my wife came home a few minutes after he left and then we both left for an appt that was at 2:15pm. When I called him about this, he said what makes you right and me wrong. When I mentioned that I had a Dr's appt at 2:15pm and he left before I left for the appt. He was not happy but agreed to send me a check for the amount over charged. He also said that I hope you don't say anything bad about he on angie's list. He know that was where we got his name from. Sorry, but that is what Angie's List is all about, THE TRUTH!!! I did receive the check. I was really torn between using Jim again. His work was good but I don't like being screwed with.

The job, performed by owner Jim LeVoir, went fine. He worked carefully and efficiently.
