Description of Work: Lights dimmed when some motors in the house started. Jim Levoir came promptly and determined that a broken wire in the buried service entrance was the cause. He called Xcel Energy for us, adding credibility to the complaint and resulting in their prompt attention.

Description of Work: Jim replaced our old panel, redistributed some "tandem" outlets, and installed a new circuit to relieve the load on a circuit that had too many outlets. He also looked at a couple of light fixtures that weren't working and gave us recommendations. | |Jim is very responsive, calls back, comes on time, and left the site clean when he was finished. He showed me everything that he had done, and gave me understandable information about the job and advice for the future. | |I've used Total Electric in the past and would use them again. | |The price estimate quoted was exactly the finished price of the job.

Description of Work: They fixed a light that had been buzzing, due to previous error from an electrician with a different company. They were prompt and kind. I would recommend them for others.

Description of Work: Installed a grounding rod outdoors as my galvanized water pipes were being replaced by plastic composite pipes and current ground would be unavailable. Arrived on time. Finished the job quickly. I would definitely use Total Electric again.

Description of Work: I made a phone call to set up a service call for some minor electrical work. The owner got back to me quickly, and wound up describing over the phone something simple that could potentially fix my problem. I made the correction and it worked! I thought it was a rare thing to find someone willing to help with a problem, expecting no reimbursement for it. Cannot remember his name, but he's very knowledgeable, and a great guy. I would hire him in a minute to do electrical work for me.

Description of Work: We needed additional outdoor electrical outlet(s) to allow us to plug in roof wiring to prevent ice dams plus our Christmas lights. We love it that we now have 2 new outlets that have shielding from the weather, too. Very pleased with the ability to schedule on short notice because of our work schedules, workmanship, cost and friendly service. We will definiltely use Total Electric for future needs.

Description of Work: Couldn't possible work with this company. Unresponsive, unprofessional, I was told I could save a few bucks if I wanted to go shop for the parts and research what might work best... Money is no object I need a service professional to return my call within a week or less. Show up on time, estimate the work to be preformed, offer professional advise, quality work and materials. Charge me double of you need to but do it well on time and stand behind your work and I'll be better served then working with this guy!

Description of Work: I replaced two fixed skylights with two that are operable (electric). Jim was very patient as he had to work around the skylight installer before doing the electrical installation. One of the skylights did not have an easy path to an electrical source but Jim found a solution that worked very well. I have hired Jim for other projects and, as ususal, he did an excellent job. I will continue to hire him for future projects. .

Description of Work: Total Electric has done work for us twice. First visit was 2-3 years ago. They installed a light-kit on a ceiling fan in our bedroom, and also rewired a wall switch to operate the light instead of the fan (we use the pullchain for the fan). They also redid our wall TV setup with several modifications: 1) moved power and coaxial cable outlets from near the floor to near the ceiling (behind the TV, and 2) strung a cat-5 network wire from our office closet to a new outlet behind our bedroom TV. This involved going through the ceiling and across our attic. Everything was done in one afternoon, worked great, and for a fair price. No mess. In April of 2011, I wanted to completely redo the very messy wired network in our house. This involved replacing existing cat-5 wire with new cat-6 wire. Total Electric replaced the wire installed on their first visit with a new wire (another attic visit). The trickier part was getting downstairs from our office closet into our main entertainment area downstairs. TE did a great job of cutting into the drywall upstairs, drilling down through the floor/ceiling into the lower level wall, and installing a nice cat-6 wall jack downstairs. No mess, and reasonable price.
