Very responsive to my phone call, and was able to come to the house the next day. No muss, no fuss; he did what we asked him to do, and the price was what I expected based on the initial phone call. Motion lights looked and worked well after install. Diagnosed and replaced light switch quickly, and demonstrated knowledge in diagnosing buzzing sound in front entryway. In short, he was responsive before the visit, and efficient during the visit. I'd recommend Total Electric to others.

Jim was on time and solved all the problems including one that required some creativity. His fee was fair and he didn't seem at all annoyed that I talked to him much of the time he was doing the work. I will definitely use Total Electric again.

Jim was very prompt in responding to my inquiry for a cost estimate on the electrical junction box. He gave me additional information that I would need before purchasing the house and how to find it. His directions were very clear and I was able to get the information without any problem. He didn't have to do that, but he was following through on information he knew I would need to have before moving forward with my purchase. This is what I call excellent professionalism. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to move forward on this purchase, because someone else got the property. But I can tell you that Jim at Total Electric will be the first person I call on my next project that needs electrical work. If only everyone had work ethics like this. Great service. Came same day (happened to have an opening in the schedule). I had a finicky fixture, which they helped me figure out and get hung properly. The fixture required several smaller adjustments that I didn't expect when I purchased it, but they remained professional and courteous - no complaints on the nit-picky parts, perfectly cheerful about helping me get it right. I've used this company before - they are consistently prompt and professional, and very service oriented. Fair pricing. Great experience!

We've used this guy a couple of different times now. I had originally found him on Angie's List. Initially, last five or six years ago he had done some work on the fuse box, I don't remember exactly, but it was something required by the insurance company. I don't remember the cost. I will use them again in the future.

He came in, no fooling around. Found out what we needed and did it. Cleaned up after himself. First class.

Jim did a great job and was very transparent with what I should expect for cost. My inspection is complete and there were no issues with how the work was preformed. I'm pleased with how the project went and I will use Total Electric the next time I need an electrician.

He was courteous and neat in his work. He finished in less than the two hour time minimum he charges for but did ask if I had any other electrical work that needed to be done to help fill out the timeframe.

Jim was absolutely great in all aspects of the job he performed. I had a bad experience with another company and had waited two weeks for them to come out to the house to do work - and when they were unable to do the work due to another emergency I called Jim. He came and provided an estimate the same day and completed the work on schedule a week later. He was extremely professional and took the time to explain to me what he was doing and why/how it affected me. He was up front with the costs and actually saved me money from the first company I had almost made the mistake of hiring. I could not be more happy with the services as the city inspector was contacted promptly and able to inspect all the work with no issues the day following the work. I would definitely recommend Jim to any of my friends and will always keep his contact information for all future electrician work.

We recently moved into our home and some of the electrical work that had been done preciously, by the past owners, was either incomplete or questionable. I called Total, set up a time to have them do a complete home inspection. When the electrian arrived he was very professional and went through the whole house, explaining to me everything that he found that was in need of installation or repair. I chose what was the most needful for our family at the time and he did the work quickly and at minimal expense. We still need socks put in our garage and I'm planning on calling Total to do the work. Very GOOD company.

He was very friendly and knowledgeable on my pre-call attempted setup of cabling and supplemental disconnect boxes. I would gladly hire the Total Electric firm in the future.

He was a nice guy and I trust him having at my house. I needed some work on a light fixture and he didn’t want to work with that due to it being a low voltage. He did change another light figure for me, but it didn’t fix quite right. He did look around to see if there were some other things that needed to be done though. He changed 2 light figures overall for me.

Jim was very professional and personable. I called at 9am and made an appointment for 11am. Jim was here right on time. He replaced the breaker, which didn't resolve the issue. He then went from outlet to outlet to find the problem. All the while, Jim explained what he was doing and why as well as held a nice conversation with our five year old daughter. When he was finished, I asked Jim about something I've thought about for some time - updating our wiring throughout the house. He explained the pros and cons, and said that in his opinion the cost wouldn't be justified. I appreciated his honesty.

I truly appreciated the speed of response and installation. When he came out I was a little bit confused trying to understand the logistics of what he was doing and answer questions about the wiring of the house, but he was patient and understanding and figured it out regardless. Overall I was pleased, it was a quick procedure, relatively painless (except for putting together the TV mount on our end:) and it cost less than I had anticipated. When we first contacted him, he also gave us suggestions on brands of TV mounts to consider and offered a few insights that helped us be frugal as well- that was truly helpful.

Jim is as good as it comes. He is very honest and reliable. I am very happy with the work he provided. If you are considering an electrician, you should give Jim a call ASAP.

John was extremely responsive and punctual. I called him and he was able to come out in an hour as another job had been delayed. I had recently had a short on an electrical outlet from a wet cord outside that was plugged in which disabled several outlets in my garage and our power garage door. No breaker switch had been tripped in the basement and there were no reset buttons on the outlet itself. I called John to come out to do a repair on what was seemingly not a tripped breaker. To be fair to him; he made it clear, and I agreed, that there was a 2 hour minimum for his work; to which I explicitly agreed to. To be fair to me, I would have gladly paid his 2 hour fee if he had to do any actual work. John showed up, saw this GFI switch; flipped it, took his $169 from my wife and felt good about it apparently. He said since my house was built in the late 1960's they did not have these switches at time of construction otherwise he would have suggested we look for one in the garage prior to his coming out. I feel a bit hoodwinked and he could have a) still suggested we look for something like this or b) realized this was not a 'repair call' after seeing the switch was the issue. I take responsibility that I agreed to a 2 hour minimum for work so I paid him but feel it was poor form with a new customer to charge the 2 hour minimum on a 1 minute 'job'. I would have gladly paid him a nominal fee for his trouble of coming out but $90+/hr (we had a coupon) for 2 hours on this was bush league at best. I am sure on real repair jobs he has first class service and work as he has a great A-List rating however, With this sort of business ethics-first impression I would not hire John again nor would I recommend his service to anyone I cared about. At least its fixed and I learned something.

Just great. Jim showed up when he said he would and tolerated my presence well. He pulled the meter, replaced the load center and all the wiring, even helped me drill some holes to get some of the wiring up into the f loor joists instead of hanging below.

The job went really well, and his estimate for the job was accurate. It was a reasonable price for quality work.

On time, courteous, knowledgeable, gave suggestions, great to work with.

Jim was here for 30-minutes and the power went out ? to the entire neighborhood, due to high winds. Jim didn't flinch. Just turned his flash light on and kept working. Used his decades of experience to figure out that a socket was loose, along with a few other modifications I didn't understand. He was long gone when the power came back online. The problems were fixed. He called that night to check up on the work. Thanks, Jim!

Everything about this job was excellent. When I first called Jim he was actually driving but we were still able to setup an appointment for two days later. The entire job was setup in that one call. He was up front about the costs and gave me an estimate. He showed up on time, was very professional and friendly. Did a great high quality job. He did the job quickly but not rushed. I asked a lot of question which he answered completely but at no time did I feel any resentment from him. He was able to install the outlets without having to open the interior walls. The actual costs were spot on the estimated costs. If and when I have any future electrician needs, He will be the first one I call. I would recommend him to friends and family without reservations.

A very smooth process with creative problem solving

Jim took the time to discuss my needs over the phone and provided an estimate. I appreciated his attention to detail including providing me with important information to make the job go faster e.g. unpack and assemble parts of the fan. His estimate was extremely accurate which I value most. After looking at the electrical switch and wiring he gave me an explanation options. I ended up with the light controlled by the switch and the fan controlled by the pull cord. He replaced all 6 of my detectors and provided an explanation of what to expect i.e. detectors last 5-6 years, they are prone to defects or being faulty, what to do next time one needs to be replaced. He was conscientious about the replacements - testing that they worked. When one seemed to beep after replacement he made sure everything was fine before leaving. Jim was neat and personable. I will definitely hire him again and refer him to friends.

Jim was great! He arrived exactly on time. Very friendly, and explains each thing he is doing. He didn't have one part that I needed, however, explained exactly what I need and I will be able to do that last part of the installation. He tested everything, and fixed a small wiring issue that existed. He had to cut into some walls, however, was careful so that repair will be easy. I would recommend Jim and wouldn't hesistate to work with him again.
