They were on time, gave me a few tips on care for the system and I was happy with the price.

Have used them many times. Always on time. Always friendly. Always helpful.

Easy. Have worked with in the past. Called, scheduled, pumped, left the invoice in the door. Will definitely continue using A1.

They came when they said. It was pretty easy and there were no problems or issues. The price was fair. Their price was comparable to everybody else.

I called Jim from A1 based on a neighbor's recommendation. I spoke with him after my septic system ran up into my laundry room. He asked me a series of questions and honestly determined it was not my septic tank it was my inside lift station. He stated he didn't want me to have to pay to pump the septic plus pay a plumber to replace the lift station. He said pumping the septic tank will not fix my particular problem. I appreciated his hopnesty, as he could have pumped it and I still would have had to pay a plumber also. I called a plumber from this site and he said the problem was the inside lift station. jim was right. I didn't use him last time I got my tank pumped, and when the time comes this summer to get it pumped, I am calling A-1.

I found Jim and A-1 on Angie's List and, based on positive reviews, scheduled an appointment to have my septic tank pumped on Wednesday December 19. They provided a 3-hour service window (9-noon) and, because they require that someone be home when services are provided, I took a vacation day to be there. When they hadn't shown up by 12:30, I called their office number. The receiptionist told me that Jim had been unable to locate my house (we live in a fairly normal neighborhood and, while the house is set back from the road a bit, we don't typically have trouble with people finding it). I asked her why he didn't call me and she said he must have had a wrong number for me. She suggested that I reschedule for another day and, when I told her I wouldn't be able to take another day off work, she told me I would need to talk to Jim directly about that issue. He did call me that afternoon but told me he was already a ways away from my house and wouldn't be able to make it back that day. He said he would come back within 48 hours to take care of the job and would just leave me the invoice in my door. I said that was fine but asked him to call me when the job was done - in the random event that I overlooked the invoice. No calls over the next two days. I called and left Jim a message over the weekend inquiring about what happened and whether and when he would be able to complete the job. He never called me back. I called him again on 12/27 and he told me he hadn't been able to work because the heater block went out on his truck. I asked whether and when he thought he might be back in service and he said he expected it to be fixed that day. He said he would call me to let me know the status. I never heard from him and eventually just hired another service to do the job (for $100 less). Note - the other company did not require me to be home and they actually showed up the next day as scheduled to do the work. I rarely leave negative reviews on this site but felt this one warranted comment.

Septic alarm went off which is always a little concerning. Called Jim at A-1 who made it out same day to diagnose the problem and reassure me there weren't any significant issues that had to be fixed that day. He came back out the next day to both pump the tank and replace a worn out lift pump. Price and service met expectations. Communication was excellent. Will definitely use again!

A-1 Truck was on time, and didn't mess around doing his job. Just went about doing his tasks as quickly and as neatly as possible. After cleaning out and inspecting, he was able to quickly diagnose an irritating overflow alarm issue. I will definately use this company again.
