Northern Glass Block

It went very well. Brad was easy to connect with by phone. Very responsive related to scheduling. Very knowledgeable, and did a great job with the repair of my window.

Everything went as expected. Brad did a nice job and communicated well. Price was fair. I would definitely hire him again.

Brad was out to give me an estimate soon after I contacted him. His estimate was in line with what I expected (around $300/window) so I asked him to move forward. A few days later, he was back to do the work, which took the better part of an afternoon. We're quite happy with the results. The windows look good. They are mortared around the outside, with silicone between the blocks. Two of the windows are vented, and the remainder are not. In one of the early fall rain events, we got 4" of rain in a few hours, and one of the window wells filled up with water. The new window did not leak a drop. We appreciated Brad's flexibility. One of our windows is walled over in a storage room in the back of the basement, and Brad replaced that window entirely from the outside.

Brad was a good communicator, timely, and did a really nice job on the window. He was very competant.

Brad called to schedule very quickly after another window company we requested a quote from referred him to me. He was very friendly, gave us good advice, and a reasonable price. We wanted to replace our other two windows with vinyl sliding windows but couldn't afford them all at once so Brad offered to come back when we are ready to do the others at his original quote. We're happy with the windows and will call Brad to get the other two installed at a later date.

My experience went really well. Brad had reasonable prices. He was fast, on time if not early, clean work area, and really just no nonsense all around. Work seemed top notch. He was nice to my dogs. Call this guy first.

Brad arrived exactly on time, very efficiently and carefully removed the old window & storm window in case we could make use of it elsewhere, and carefully installed a perfect glass block window. He was able to find all the right sizes of blocks to fit the window without having to cut any. Then after the finished the install, he cleaned up everything and showed us what to do to tile up to the window (which is a project we'll do shortly).

Everything went smoothly and professionally. Brad quoted me the price over the phone ($220 per window), and came out to measure and look things over within a day or two. The installation was done a week later and took about 3 hours. Any mess was cleaned up, and the windows were disposed of for $25. The windows really brighten up the basement!

It went well. The serviceman showed up when he said he would, completed the job in the amount of time he said he would, and charged what he said he would. My only complaint is that he didn't clean up as well as he could have.

Got to the job on time, work was done mostly from the inside, took about 1 and 1/2 hours, cleaned up area well, asked for down payment before job, balance after the job was done, pleasant to work with.

The work was done very well. I am very happy, and it looks very professional and clean. He works from his estimate, and I was charged the exact amount he quoted. He had all 5 windows done in 3.5 hours.

I called several companies for estimates and they were all very similar in price. Northern Glass Block was the company I chose because of his responsiveness. I called on Wednesday. He came to measure on Thursday. The window was installed on the following Tuesday. I was concerned about installing a bathroom window in the cold weather so I did want to get it in as soon as possible. Given the rush we felt a little pressure to install it as quickly as possible. So the decision of whether to make it flush to the tile or flush to the outside wall was difficult without our tile chosen. There was concern about permit but it was covered under our remodeling permit. The weather and whether tiling should be done on top of the window frame wood. Instead of durock, but we were told that he has never had any complaints in the 18 years he's been in the business. We are very pleased with the work. Embarrassingly, there was a mix up with our final payment, he was understanding and patient.

We're finishing our basement, and so it's not a cave, we wanted a glass block window in the bathroom. Rick was getting ready for his booth at the state fair, but since it was one window, he said he could make it and install it before the fair opened. Otherwise, I would have had to wait until the fair ended. He talked with our contractor by phone so the opening could be framed to spec. Two days later he showed up with the window, and installed it. It fit perfectly, and he advised how to finish the inside.

Brad was the only one that would put in the vinyl strip. The other said I would have to put additional tile in, which is a lot of extra work. It was a rental property, so this was perfect. The window and the liner look great. Time was a factor and he was very accommodating.

Overall, it went well. He arrived early and was pretty efficient, cleaned up, etc. The only concern I had was that he started to prepare a window that was NOT being replaced to be knocked out, and if we wouldn't have been home, he would have replaced one wrong window. I don't know what would have happened in that case. He thanked me for letting him know (we had done a walk-through a few days earlier when he gave an estimate, so he had looked at the two to be replaced). Overall, good work.

BRAD DOES A GREAT JOB. ONE CALL SET UP THE APPOINTMENT, HE CALLED THE DAY BEFORE TO CONFIRM, AND HE SHOWED UP RIGHT ON TIME. (WHICH WAS IMPORTANT AS I HAD SCHEDULED THIS OVER MY LUNCH BREAK - AND IT ONLY TOOK AN HOUR!) THE NEW WINDOW LOOKS GREAT AND IS EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED. BRAD WAS PUNCTUAL, PROFESSIONAL, AND EFFICIENT. WHEN I'M READY TO REPLACE MY 4 OTHER WINDOWS, I'LL BE CALLING HIM.

BRAD CAME THE SAME DAY OF MY FIRST PHONE CALL TO GIVE AN ESTIMATE. I APPRECIATED THAT SINCE ON MY PHONE CALL TO TWIN CITIES GLASS BLOCK I WAS GIVEN A QUICK $$ AMOUNT (WHICH WAS HIGHER)AND THE CALL WAS ENDED BEFORE I KNEW IT. THE DAY THE WORK WAS DONE, BRAD ARRIVED ON TIME AND THE WORK WAS COMPLETED IN JUST OVER 2 HOURS. THE WINDOWS LOOK GREAT! IN MAKING THE CHANGE TO GLASS BLOCK, WE ARE ATTEMPTING TO RESOLVE AN ONGOING WATER ENTRY ISSUE AND ARE NOW AWAITING OUR FIRST SIGNIFICANT RAINFALL TO TEST THEM OUT. BUT, WE ARE ASSURED THAT MATERIALS AND LABOR HAVE A 5 YR GUARANTEE. IN THE END, THE ONLY THING THAT WAS DIFFERENT THAN HAD ORIGINALLY BEEN DISCUSSED WAS THAT BRAD SAID HE NO LONGER DISPOSES OF THE WINDOWS AND THAT IT GOT TOO COSTLY FOR HIM TO DO SO. ONLY ONE WEEK HAD PASSED SINCE WE HAD BEEN TOLD HE WOULD DISPOSE OF THEM SO THAT WAS A QUICK CHANGE AND A DISAPPOINTMENT. BUT, OVERALL WE ARE HAPPY WITH THE WORK.

I WOULD SAY LOOK NO FURTHER THAN BRAD. HIS WORK WAS GREAT, ON TIME, AND VERY REASONABLE. HE GAVE ME A QUOTE ON A FRIDAY, AND RETURNED AFTER A HOLIDAY WEEKEND ON TUESDAY, TO INSTALL.

BRAD GAVE US A FAIR BID IN-LINE WITH OTHERS. WORK WAS DONE AS SCHEDULED, QUICKLY AND CLEANLY. MY ONLY CONCERN WAS BRAD'S INSISTENCE ON HAVING PAYMENT MADE IN HIS NAME PERSONALLY RATHER THAN TO THE COMPANY. THAT'S A RED FLAG FOR ME. I LIKE TO KNOW THE COMPANY RECEIVED PAYMENT IN THE EVENT I HAVE A PROBLEM DOWN THE ROAD. HIS EXCUSE/EXPLANATION WAS DUBIOUS AT BEST. HOWEVER, WORKMANSHIP WAS GOOD!

BRAD DID A VERY GOOD JOB TAKING OUT THE OLD WINDOW AND INSTALLING THE GLASS BLOCKS. IT WAS DONE PRETTY FAST. THE NEW WINDOW LOOKS GREAT.

EXCELLENT SERVICE DESPITE THE SMALL SIZE OF THE PROJECT. FAIR PRICE, AND HANDLED THE SPECIAL VENT REQUEST WITHOUT FUSS. SCHEDULED THE JOB WITHIN DAYS OF THE INITIAL CALL, AND COMPLETED THE WORK AS EXPECTED.

THEY WERE AWESOME AND VERY REASONABLY PRICED.

THIS WAS A STRESS-FREE EXPERIENCE AND ONE I WOULD RECOMMEND.

LOOKS GREAT, AND SHOULD HELP KEEP BASEMENT WARM THIS WINTER. BRAD WAS GOOD TO WORK WITH AND CLEANED UP AFTER THE JOB. HE DIDN'T NOTE AT ESTIMATE THAT TAKING AWAY THE OLD WINDOWS WOULD BE ADDITIONAL, BUT IN MY LOCATION, I WAS ABLE TO HAVE THE CITY TAKE THEM AWAY AT NO COST.
