Completely unacceptable. I was specifically worried about the snow in the valley where my roofs meet and sent pictures before hand. Jeff LaFrance reviewed the pictures and assured me he would be able to remove the snow. We agreed the job would be $400. He sent his son Collin to do the actual removal and Collin did put a ladder up to the back of the house. Unfortunately Collin did not climb up high enough to remove the snow and only pulled down the lower 1/3 of the roof. After he left I saw the snow still there and called within an 1/2 hour to ask he return and remove the snow which was the problem to start with. He called me several names and said he would put a lien against my house. For $400 he should have removed the snow from the pictures as indicated. I had another company come and remove the snow and told Jeff LaFrance I would pay him $100 for the time his son spent, approximately 1 hour. He has refused and wants the full $400. Do not hesitate, run from this contractor.

Jeff Lafrance and his crew came out to install gutters on my home since the home had none. It was three quarters of the way through the install that I noticed some of the gutters were just dangling from the roof and were not installed properly. I went outside to discuss this problem with Jeff and he told me that at the beginning of the install he was tempted to knock on my door and tell me that due to the angle of my roof the gutters were not able to be installed, but he didn't do this and moved forward with the install anyways. I told him to take one gutter down specifically as it was just dangling from the roof and it was a liability issue for people walking down below on the sidewalk. He did take it down when I asked. I then asked him if they could put the leaders so they shoot into different areas as the areas they initially put them were in high traffic areas where steps are and where people walk. Jeff said he would have to ask his other guy who would be around in a few minutes as he ran to get something. Jeff said that guy would have a better idea of where to point the direction of the leaders since he "hadn't been doing this all that long" was what Jeff said. Once the other guy returned he did fix the leaders and where they were pointing. At the end I asked Jeff if the price would be dropped a bit due to not having all the gutters installed like the estimate stated since they weren't able to properly install them. He said no and became angry with the fact that I even asked. He said from the beginning he didn't want to install gutters on my home due to the angle of the roof and said "as it is they are barely attached to the facia due to the angle" and that they had "a difficult time installing them" and "not all the screws could be installed into the facia like we typically do". After they left it was obvious that the gutters were not screwed in all the way but they seemed like they would function properly. I dropped the fact that I wanted a lower price due to not being able to install all the gutters in the bid. 4 months later in the beginning of June I notice that there is cottonwood building up on the gutters up above my back door from a 2nd story window I look out. I go outside and get up on a ladder to find that the gutter is completely full. My neighbors come over and we blow it out with the garden hose only to discover its not plugged as water is flowing just fine out of the leader, but instead the gutter is full because its angled wrong. There is constant water sitting in the gutter due to improper angling. My neighbors tell me to call LaFrance Exteriors and ask them to come out and re-angle it so I don't have build up and possible ice damns in the winter. I call Jeff and leave a message and he calls me back and leaves this very long message saying he isn't coming back out to the home as I was informed that the gutters would be like this and he never wanted to install them in the first place and he "really regrets how it turned out" and "the whole thing has been a nightmare" for him and "there is nothing more they can do" due to the pitch of the roof. I call Jeff back and explain to him that the back gutter then needs to be taken down as its completely full and I do not want ice damns forming. He says he won't do it unless I give him pictures, a written documentation of why I want the gutter taken down, and then they would a**** if its a good reason to come back out to the property and take it down. I tell him I'm not providing him that as he can just come out to my home and look for himself as the gutter is completely full. He says he will not come out to the property as they have been back and forth with this project and there is nothing more they can do. I explain to Jeff that I have a 2 year warranty and I want the gutter off and he needs to get out here and just take it off so I don't have more issue's like ice damns and he says no, we are not coming out to your home anymore. I tell him, "you need to come out here and take this down" and then he says "Goodbye Brandi" and hangs up on me. LaFrance Exteriors was unprofessional from the start. They had poor communication with me and did not get my approval to go forth with the work with the clear knowledge that my home would be difficult to install gutters and would present issue's during the install. This was only brought to my attention after they were well into the project and almost all the gutters were installed. I have a 2 year warranty and yet they refuse to come out to my home and fix the angle or take them down. I did ask nicely the first two phone calls I made in June to Jeff about this problem and he was not receptive to those calls. The last call I told him he needed to get out here and fix the problem immediately and he just hung up on me.

Great work! Jeff La France went above and beyond to make sure the job was done right! He worked with a problem insurance adjuster to make sure what was damaged and covered was paid for. Jeff was present- paying close attention to how the work was done and meeting my level of perfection. Great communication by phone, text, email and stopping by just to make sure every thing was right. Very reasonable charges for the extras that always pop up. His crews were pleasant, well mannered, helpful and patient with me in all regards. All my questions, concerns and issues with my Old House were met in every regard. Well done. On time. No issue left unsolved.
