Description of Work: COZY insulated our upper level Attic. They responded quickly with an estimate and were very flexible with scheduling the project. The COZY personnel were friendly, courtesy and helpful; They even help me finish installing a exhaust fan in a upper level bathroom. And yes I would employ COZY again.

We had our attic re-insulated and Jason did a great job of explaining everything to us before and after the work was done. We had obtained an estimate from another insulation company that was $400 higher than what Cozy Insulation charged for the same job. Jason also brought to our attention the availability of a rebate that helped bring our costs down further. Excellent experience; we highly recommend Cozy Insulation!

Description of Work: Blown-in attic insulation. Sealed around all junction boxes and ceiling lights, installed soffit chutes, built a box around the attic entryway, blew in 24" of cellulose insulation. One-half of my attic has no access door, so he removed a ceiling vent and crawled in through the hole, which not only amazed me but amazed the other guys who came to give me estimates.

 + -1 moreI had my house insulated in 1978. I wanted to know if I could improve the insulation as I have had ice dams in winters past. Jason did a thorough job of checking the insulation and told me that what was done in 1978 was the correct installment for my house. He told me that the way my roof is framed does not allow for any further measures that would keep the roof colder and hence prevent ice dams. He discussed with me a couple of things that could me done such as a metal roof. He was very professional and knowledgeable about insulating houses and he did not charge me anything for the assessment. I would recommend his company for anyone who is looking into insulation.

 + -1 moreWe received 5 bids; Cozy was thorough - we have a vaulted ceiling and not easy to access attic - they made a complete look before bidding, made appropriate recommendations that were consistent with 3 of the other companies. The owner returned my initial call quickly and was flexible in matching up with our schedule come to our home for the bid. Cozy followed up in a very timely manner with a written bid with everything in it we talked about. They didn't over or understate the work to be done; all things being relatively equal, we went with a judgment call - we liked the owner's approach, how he explained what he would do and why, a bit of history about his company, and the flexibility and thoroughness the most - so we selected Cozy. We arranged a time that worked for us nearly 3 weeks out and they were there on time - took about the amount of time they estimated it might take, and did everything they said they'd do. Also Assisted us in the paperwork to submit refund from Cecil Energy. The owner and his coworker were pleasant, on task, and we recommend them to others.
Description of Work: Cellulose insulation blown in the attic of our 20 yr old home, which included a vaulted ceiling and not easy to access attic, bringing the R value from 20+ to over 50 - which also should meet/exceed building code for the next 20 years. They replaced 3 chutes (which had fallen down) replaced 6 vents on the soffits (which had been plugged when the house was repainted), put boxes around our 2 recessed lights in the difficult to reach area of our kitchen ceiling and sealed all the accesses to the ceiling (lights). They wrapped insulation around the exhaust pipe for our furnace/hot water heater that ran through the attic; added a barrier around the attic access in our upstairs hallway so the cellulose wouldn't fall out everywhere when accessing the attic; and added fiberglass batting to the attic sice of the access -- which was never there before.

 + -1 moreAfter a CenterPoint Energy audit indicated that I qualified for their insulation rebate, I started getting rough estimates by email and by phone. Cozy's Jason gave a reasonable estimate via email so I invited him over to take a look at the attic. Jason determined my attic would be fairly easy to insulate so his firmed up estimate ended up being $200 less than his original one. Jason was more than willing to accommodate my schedule and it was no problem to pick a day for the job. The work took just over two hours. Applying blown-in insulation is a dusty job, but they cleaned up after themselves about as well as one could expect. Jason was very helpful in filling out the paper-work I needed to apply for the CenterPoint rebate.
Description of Work: Cozy Insulation sealed all attic bypasses (i.e. pipes, electrical boxes) with spray foam and added 9 inches of cellulose insulation to my attic.
