LG picked ARI to do warranty work on our fridge this summer. Not only did the repair work take months they caused us to loose warranty on our fridge leaving us with a broken fridge. Took weeks to get someone out too look at it. Then at around a month to get someone to repair it. Ok fine if it had been fixed then I would understand. But it wasn’t it still wasn’t cooling. So then they eventually sent someone out to look at it again. The new guy that was sent said it was under charged so he charged it some more. Now it was finally cooling but had started leaking out the back(it was never connected to water during the process). I called and the lady I talked to on the phone said there was absolutely no way that they could have done something to cause the leak and wouldn’t even consider they caused it. No responsibility taken. Finally got someone from LG out and guess what ARI over charged the fridge causing it to LEAK!!!!!!!!!!! But unfortunately since it was in the garage and we live in the Midwest I was told our warranty was void now due to cold temps. Had ARI repaired my fridge correctly the first or even second time or taken responsibility when I called I wouldn’t have been left with a worthless fridge. ARI cost me hundreds of dollars. I will never use them again or recommend them to anyone. They are not trust worthy and won’t take responsibility for their errors. Do not trust them with your appliances unless you want to be purchasing new ones.

My dishwasher starting leaking 2 days before 20 people were to arrive at my house for Thanksgiving. I pulled the dishwasher out and discovered that I had a bent valve bracket that was causing the dishwasher to leak. I called Appliance Repair Inc. and very specifically told them what part was needed and asked if they could bring the part and repair it that day. She replied that yes they could, and we set up an appointment. She indicated that there would be a $95 trip charge plus the cost of repairs. When the technician arrived, he looked at the dishwasher and told me what I already knew - I had a broken part. However, he didn't have the part with him, and so he charged my wife $331 to order the part. He indicated the $331 would cover the installation of the part as well. I later spoke with a manager to let him know my frustration. I did not need someone to come to my house to diagnose a problem I knew I had. I needed them to bring the part I needed and install it. He indicated that technicians can't possibly carry all parts for all dishwashers, which I can understand. However, I very specifically asked the person who took my call if they could install that part. He went on to insinuate that I was stupid by telling me that many customers think they know what's wrong with their appliance, but really they don't and therefore, the technician needs to diagnose the problem themselves. However, the technician did not find anything different than what I told the person who took my call. I indicated to the manager that I did not think the person who took my call was up front as to the process the technician would go through and that they would be able to do what I was asking them to do (bring the part I needed). I went on to request the breakdown of the cost they were charging me from the manager, and he refused to tell me. He indicated that they tell their customers that they charge a flat rate when the appointment is booked. I replied that the person on the phone told me no such thing. He essentially called me a liar and told me that he sits next to the people that take the scheduling calls and that they always tell everyone. The manager was incredibly rude, saying things to me like "I'm sure you could run this company better." Clearly, this company does not care about their customers or providing quality service.
Description of Work: Charged $95 to tell me what is wrong with my dishwasher when I already knew. The technician provided an arbitrary flat rate to fix my dishwasher.

First appt. they came out and said the refrigerator needs an upgraded computer board and that will take care of the icemaker issue. They came back the next week and put the part in, that did not take care of the issue. They sent out a different tech, and he diagnosed the issue as a wire in the panel and is not repairable. The manager did send me a check back for the first repair that did not take care of the issue, which I felt was very fair. If the first repair had worked it seemed to me that the labor of approx. $300.00 (20 minutes) would have been excessive.
Description of Work: Diagnosed icemaker not producing ice.

Chad was within the window of time they said he would arrive, however no phone call prior to his visit left me wondering if he would show up. The experience was not pleasant as he really didn't take the time to see what was wrong with the oven first. I can't help feling like I got off lucky after only paying for the service call.
Description of Work: This guy Chad Garner shows up late without a call and opens my oven and with just looking inside the oven tells me my igniter is broken. Says it will cost 389.00 to repair, which included the 95.00 "home visit fee" I explain that when it broke five years before it cost 120.00 to repair he stated that everything has doubled within the past five years. I told him I didn' have the money until Friday and he replies that I can post date a check, at this point i'm not feeling comfortable because he is so insistent on repairing it today. I'm grateful I sent him packing especially after reading the reviews here. This experience made me join Angies list immediately as this is the second weird experience I've had with home appliance repair. Basically I paid 95.00 to get a less than two minute assessment of my repair needs.

Chad said he had the part in his vehicle. In less than 10 minutes the oven was fixed. Chad presented us with the bill for $477.10 which we paid by check. There was no itemization on the bill. He then gave us a lecture about how using the self-cleaning feature on the oven is a very bad thing because the high heat damages the igniter. In less than 20 minutes, he was out the door. After he left, I remembered that I had subscribed to Angie's List. So I pulled up the reviews on ARI. Seems others had had the same experience. My husband then looked up the cost of the ignitor on the internet. Approximately $86! So that leaves $391 for labor for less than a 5 minute task. While we appreciated the fast reponse and repair, we would never call ARI again. In fact, my husband now knows how to replace the ignitor and he will be replace any future parts. I will never again forget that I subscribedo Angie's List!
Description of Work: My Bosch gas oven quit working and my husband called another company who said they couldn't come out for the repair for 2 weeks. Wondering if parts would be available at that time and with the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday when we would have a large dinner gathering, my husband called ARI and was told someone could come out in a day. Chad Garner showed up, did a very short (5 minute) analysis of the problem and determined it was the ignitor that had failed.

I would never contact this company unless you want to get ripped off. It was really hot out and our airconditioner stopped working and they came out that day and it took Chad Garner (the guy that came out to our house) barely 5 minutes to "diagnose" what was wrong with our air conditioning. He sure came up with a high price within that time as well he quoted us a price of $1,484.95 to fix everything that was "wrong." In order for Chad Garner to get our air conditioning up and running that day we HAD to pay in full the $1,484.95. We ended up canceling the check a day later after we did some digging about ARI. ARI would NOT give us a list of what everything cost that they had to do, we talked to three different people and they all said we cannot do that, we even talked to the manager and he was a HUGE jerk about it. Chad Garner who came out to our house, told us there was something that was needed for our air conditioner that was not in there, but when we had a different company come out they pointed out where this part was in the conditioner and pointed out the fact that it is in there. Literally everything they told us was a lie, they told us they had no pricing on specific items they just come up with some random number.Stay away from this company.
Description of Work: The day they came out all Chad Garner did was put in a new capacitor and one pound of freon and that all cost $786.95 just for those two things.

A COMPLETE SCAM! I called them because my LG dishwasher was presenting error code 1E, low water pressure. I explained what the error code was and was told that they would send out a technician to diagnose the problem for a cost of $89.95. He arrived but did no diagnosis and disappeared to his van to "look for a part". He returned and told me that it would be almost $400 to repair the machine. More than it is worth
