Outstanding. Called Monday (via Centerpoint Energy) and they completed the job Wednesday morning. The techs were excellent, professional, and clean. They replaced our old 50 gallon water heater with a 75 gallon.

Larson Plumbing employee, Paula was extremely helpful in scheduling our job. She was able to help us coordinate the plumbing work to fit existing schedules of other contractors. Steve (plumber) came 3 separate times to help move our project along. He was knowledgeable, polite, and efficient. I would definitely hire Larson again.

Started seeing dirty sediment in faucets, called Brooklyn Center to verify that they were not flushing the system which would account for the problem, decided that I needed a new hot water heater (present one was 25 years old and was received in 1988 in exchange for a hot water heater that was destroyed by Maple Grove Heating and Air Conditioner when they started a fire while installing a new furnace and air conditioner). After checking with 2 other companies on price and financing, it was decided to take advantage of a 1 year interest free payment plan through Centerpoint Energy. We contacted them and set up an appointment for installation. on 3/19/2014, we were originally given a 8AM to 12 Noon appointment but was told that because we were making it a week ahead of time, we could count on a 8AM to 10AM window. Larson Plumbing called 30 minutes ahead of time and 2 men showed up at approximately 9AM. they were quite pleasant, very professional and wasted no time getting started. They allowed me to assist them in draining the old water heater and were very efficient and were finished by 10AM. They informed me of everything concerning the new hot water heater and even gave me some tips concerning water softeners which I mentioned that I was thinking about purchasing.

I enjoy supporting local businesses, so I was pleased to hear that Larson Plumbing and heating was just down the street from me. I purchased an iron filter and water softener on my own and was thinking about installing it myself, but after looking at how many solder joints I would need, I decided against it. The line coming out of my well pump was 3/4and quot; copper, which then opens back up to a 1and quot; for the lawn irrigation system. I wanted to convert the entire line from the well pump to the softener to 1and quot;. Larson did a great job making this happen. They charged a service fee just to drive out plus an hourly rate (not including parts). They mentioned they were thinking of changing their pricing schedule to a flat fee which includes all necessary parts, so be sure to ask what you're getting when you give them a call. They did not have a part needed, so they left for a bit to grab them, came back and installed the system. The total job took about four hours. They also installed a bleeder valve next to the well pump (which was missing). Before the gentleman left, I asked him if he could look at my kitchen drain, which seemed to be loose. He fixed swiftly at no added charge, despite my offer to pay. He also offered to recycle my old softener for free, but it was full of salt and water, and he humorously said we'd and quot;bustand quot; a certain body part carrying the softener upstairs. I still chuckle when I think of that. The whole time the servicer was gregarious, and confident in the quality and direction of the work. He also seemed to remember servicing this home decades ago (before I bought it) and had some friendly anecdotes to share. I give this company high marks for the customer experience. The next day, I noticed there was a very slow leak from one of the joints. A gentleman came out the same day to fix it. Coincidentally, the water lines coming from my kitchen sink were also leaking. The guy fixed both issues at no charge. One small critique I have about the company is that when I called in August, there seemed to be only one person that handles scheduling. And that person was at a meeting, forcing me to call back later. I've had the same thing happen to me once or twice after this project, which has compelled me to use a different plumbing company on those two occasions. I'm not sure if they're more focused on large projects than just the simple house call, but I'd be willing to call them first next time to see if they're available.
Description of Work: I had Larson Plumbing & Heating install an iron filter and water softener.

This was a service provided by the MAC for sound insulation. They were messy and they cut very crooked s***** holes in my hardwood floors for AC vents. Could not install my own flush to the floor wooden grates because holes are so bad. Pointed it out to them, and they made NO effort to fix. Also, left a BIG MESS in my basement with sheet metal everywhere and they didn't even vacuum out the holes before putting duct work in - I did it myself. Did not put a filter in the air return either and I didn't know for several weeks. I realize the the MAC paid for the service, but that doesn't mean they can perform shoddy work.
Description of Work: Installed central air unit in my home which included putting in all duct work.

CENTERPOINT SUBS (LARSON PLUMBING AND HEATING) THEIR WORK OUT FOR THIS SERVICE, HOWEVER THEY DID COME QUICKLY (WITHIN 3 HOURS) AND PERFORMED THE WORK QUICKLY, ENABLING ME TO RETURN TO WORK. WORKERS WERE VERY CLEAN INSIDE THE HOUSE HOWEVER LEFT SOME RUST FROM THE OLD UNIT ON THE DRIVEWAY/GARAGE. I FELT THE PRICE COULD BE MORE COMPETITIVE AFTER CHECKING THE LIST, BUT THE QUICKNESS OF SERVICE MADE UP FOR SOME OF THE COST.
Description of Work: SUBCONTRACTOR FOR CENTERPOINT ENERGY. REPLACED 40 GAL WATER HEATER WITH A QUICK RECOVER 40 GAL WITH 12 YEAR SERVICE CONTRACT. (FULL REPLACEMENT OR REPAIR FOR ANY ISSUES OVER 12 YEARS, NON-TRANSFERABLE) TOOK OLD WATER HEATER AND DISPOSED OF IT. CENTERPOINT ALSO OFFERS A 12 MONTH NO INTEREST PAYMENT PLAN ON THIS UNIT CHARGED ON THE GAS BILL.

THEY WERE INEPT. WE WERE MISINFORMED ON OPTIONS. WE WERE TOLD NO TRIP CHARGE WOULD APPLY AND THEN HAD TO PAY A PORTION OF A $480.00 CHARGE. THEY INSTALLED AN UPGRADED FURNACE WITHOUT OUR KNOWLEDGE OR CONSENT. PROJECT MGR GLENN VALENTINE RECOMMENDED THEM FOR THEIR CONCRETE EXPERIENCE, YET THEY HAD LITTLE KNOWLEDGE OF FORM STRUCTURE. AN INCORRECT TOILET WAS LISTED ON THE INVOICE. WE NOTIFIED THEM OF THIS TWICE. THE WRONG TOILET WAS DELIVERED AND THEY CHARGED US $20 ADDITIONAL FOR THE CORRECT ONE. THE LP REGULATOR WAS PLACED 6'' FROM GRADE, WHICH IS NOT CODE, AND HAD TO BE MOVED BY THE GAS COMPANY WITH AN ADDITIONAL CHARGE TO US. A TECHNICIAN CAME OUT TO CONNECT THE FURNACE TO THE LP TANK. HE CLAIMED THE CONNECTION COULDN'T BE MADE BECAUSE THE WRONG FITTINGS WERE SUPPLIED BY THE GAS COMPANY YET I WAS ABLE TO CONNECT THE TANK WITHIN 40 MINS WHEN I ARRIVED HOME. A LETTER WAS SENT TO JIM LARSON THE OWNER AND HE DID NOT CONTACT US HIS SERVICE MANAGER DID, WHICH WAS NOT SATISFACTORY.
