The chipped the edge of a good section and did a hack job on the repair. The outside section is crooked (not a straight line). The section heaved (1-2 inches) during the winter (2018 - 2019) and I sent the one of the owners (Amy Merkle) an email in the March 2019 explaining the section is a problem and trip hazard for visitors. She passed the buck to the other owner who never responded to e-mails or requests to followup. The following winter (2019-2020) it got worse and heaved so much that it never went down to a flush level. Now sits a half inch above the rest of the driveway. The heaving issue was never explained to me when the slab was installed before the first winter freeze (2018/2019)? Add to this I asked Greystone's site supervisor (August 2018) when the replacement was done if I should be concerned with the repair and impact of winter. His response was I shouldn't worry about it being a problem with winter freeze. Owner Bob Orchard finally came out to look at and explained they can't do anything further. Offered a suggestion to fill in an epoxy product to prevent the heaving but they don't do that. Interesting thing is they created the problem with their warranty work by cutting out a bad section and installing a new section that didn't adhere to rest of the driveway. The old slab didn't heave and would rather have left this whole thing alone given what I know now. Add to this now its my problem and will cost me to correct the heaving using a concrete specialist.

Description of Work: Awesome job. They put in cement blocks under our 40+ year old garage. Looks like new again! They were completely done in 24 hours and showed up when they said they would. Highly recommend.

Great experience. These guys are professionals and know what they are doing. Their pricing was competitive. Jeff was very accommodating with the scheduling and handling of the payment. As far as the installation went, they explained what they were going to do and they came out an delivered exactly what they said they would. The installation team was very professional and thorough. - Even locked the gate and shut off the water when they were done. Would use Greystone again and would recommend them to friends and family.

Received estimate in February with planned start date of May 1. The contractor called me and asked if they could start early, which made me very happy. They arrived on time Monday morning (4/16/2012) to start work. On Monday they did all of the prep work for the entire job. The prep work included removing old garage floor, old driveway, rear patio and preparing the area on the side of the house. On Tuesday, they poured the first half of the concrete and on Wednesday the finished the remainder of the pouring. Finally, on Thursday, they returned to do the saw cuts in the concrete. This company did a wonderful job. They had a large crew the worked together really well. Everyone seemed to know exactly what to do at exactly the fright time. This was a huge job and I was impressed by the work ethic of the team and the on-site leadership of the team. When you spend a lot of money, it is comforting to see people work so hard and so steadily. The company owner came by on Wednesday to review the work of the team. Our city will be repaving our street this summer and they placed additional burdens on the contractor to met their specs for the way the driveway joined the street. Greystone did additional work to meet those requirements. This was impressive. I am so happy with the job that I am asking them back to do a retaining wall for me. This is the best compliment I can give them!

Overall the job went very well. The crew was professionally run, hard working, and careful. It was important for me to be there every day, as it was a complicated job and a few very small details were overlooked. However, after the job was done, they were willing to come back to follow up and finish a couple of small things to make sure that I was satisfied with the job. They were the lowest bidder on the project. I would not hesitate to recommend Greystone for foundation, basement, and concrete work.
Description of Work: Built a rebar reinforced "curb" along three out of four walls of the foundation of a 1911 house. Added underpinned foundation sections and steps in order to lower the basement floor in part of the old house and into a new addition built along the fourth wall of the house. Poured a rebar and wire mesh reinforced basement slab for the old and new sections of the house.
