Appliance Care, was great! Their people were very knowledgeable, very careful, kept us informed of what they were doing and they completed their work quickly. they cleaned up the area after the old appliances were removed and cleaned up after their work was done. Very nice people, very professional.

Applicance Care was responsive, provided great customer communication, and fixed our leak quickly.
Description of Work: Our LG Washer was leaking on Thanksgiving weekend. Dumb me, I thought I should call Warner's Stellian, since I bought it there. Bad move. First, it took forever to speak to an actual person. Then they said a technician would call me back. That was November 26th. No one got back to me. I called again on December 3rd, and couldn't get through. When I finally got through on December 4th, they told me D&T would call. Well, they did call me back that day, but D&T was not accommodating. The person on the line made me repeat myself multiple times because she wasn't listening. When I tried to explain how we have not been able to do laundry for more than a week and would like someone to come right away, she did not 'get' it. Ugh. This was clearly my fault. I totally forgot that I had an Angie's List subscription. So... Angie's List, I'm so glad you exist. I called Appliance Care on December 4th after hours and left a message. Mark called me back first thing the next morning and Chris came out yesterday. Before arriving, he gave me a call to tell me he was enroute--and arrived shortly before the scheduled time window. The repair (two faulty valves) was quick and not as expensive as we were afraid it would be. He was done is less than an hour (including travel time to fetch the new parts). THANK YOU so much. I'll be sure to check Angie's List first and bypass the regular "I bought it from this store and should check with them first" route.

I had called on a Thursday evening and received a response on Friday morning. We then had an appointment scheduled for the 4 to 6 pm timeframe on a Monday afternoon. They arrived at our house promptly at 4. They were very professional and took the time to show me what was wrong. They explained what they were doing and also what caused the problem.
Description of Work: We would occassionally smell natural gas in our kitchen near our gas oven/stove. They came to our house, checked the stove and the line from the main line to the stove for leaks using a detector. They found the leak right away and replaced the flexible line from the main line to the stove along with the associated fittings.

Called them to evaluate a dead dishwasher. Discovered the cause of the problem and that it couldn't be fixed. Fair price for diagnosis. No pressure sales tactics to sell me a new dishwasher (I ended up buying it elsewhere.). Between the time that I called for the dishwasher and my appointment for the dishwasher, I noted that my clothes drier wasn't working well. Technician happily added this on to the dishwasher call and fixed it perfectly. I had them out again within a few weeks to look at my oven. They figured out what the problem part was. As it is an expensive repair, I decided to wait until it is completely non-functional before proceeding. Again, no pressure. They will deduct the cost of that service call from the future repair if I have it done with them (which I certainly will). Pleasant, professional, competent, no pressure. Who could ask for anything more?
Description of Work: - Diagnosed a dead dishwasher and determined it could not be fixed. - Discovered a drier needed it's vents cleaned and a new pipe fitting for the exhaust. Performed both of these tasks. - Diagnosed an error code on a wall oven. The part is expected to fail completely within the year, but doesn't have to be repaired right now.

I was very impressed by the quick response. I had called several other providers who were booked out several days to over a week. He was able to come the same day, and completed the repair quickly and efficiently. He was pleasant, courteous, had helpful suggestions, and the dishwasher is running perfectly now.

The guy who came to fix our dryer knew a lot about appliances, was very friendly, helpful and informative. He had to order a part and came to our house at 4:30 in the afternoon, which was very convenient for us.
Description of Work: Our Samsung dryer had a fire and it burned out the thermostat. The technician cleaned out the dryer where dog hair had accumulated to fuel the fire. He taped the wires on the harness that had been singed and checked out the dryer and realized that a thermostat had burned out and he would need to order it. They do not stock this particular part. It took a week to get and we were able to schedule the service after work to complete the fix.

My dryer suddenly stopped working. I called Appliance Care the next morning. They told me they could guarantee a time the next day or would be available that day as they could work it in. I took the latter. They called when they were 15 minutes away. Quickly came in and looked at the dryer, let me know that it was the dryer motor and provided the estimate. They had the motor replacement in their van and within 30 minutes were gone and I had my dryer back! They were very professional, courteous and fast.

Ice dispenser in the door of the fridge was not working. Mark came out and spent some time diagnosing what the problem might be (the switch or circuit board or dispenser motor). After a process of elimination and checking all components of the dispenser, Mark got it to work again and no new parts were needed. I think this repair was a little unusual but I'm happy that the dispenser is now working and I wasn't sold any parts that weren't necessary. Thanks Mark!

I called and made an appointment for a repair service for our ice maker on the refrigerator. The technician was very friendly and creative in fixing it. Chris was fabulous. A service person that was actually early! Chris came to look at my LG dryer. He gave me the bad news that the drum was bad and would eventually need to be replaced. He gave me the price to repair ($420) and said it might be better to buy a new one. He explained what to watch for so our clothes did not get ruined as we continue to use it. Chris gave me a lot of good information on brands and even looked over my washer for me. I would definitely recommend him to a friend and would contact him again for service/repair. I live in a northern suburb so the service call was $20 higher. I understand why so don't consider the B a bad thing. It is just my personal feeling.

I called the company and Chris answered the phone almost immediately. Even though he was on a job, he answered my questions and demonstrated his knowledge of the type of refrigerator I had. I asked when he could come out to my house for a service call and he said he'd be there in 30 minutes which he was. Once there he worked quickly and fixed the problem in about 30 minutes. Chris was fantastic and his service exceptional! I would definitely call him again.

Our Maytag French Door Refrigerator temperature control was reading 63 degrees Sunday morning 1/29/12. Freezer was still reading 0 degrees. The Maytag website sent me to their service center. Called the 800 number and the first service date offered was two days later, on 2/1/12. Talking to a real person was not an option. After consulting Angie's List, on Monday morning I called Appliance Care. The phone was answered immediately. Explained the problem and gave the model and serial numbers of the refrigerator. I was asked if between noon and 2pm that day would be convenient for a service call. Chris called when he was 10 minutes from our home. Chris was professional, courteous, friendly and explained everything he was doing. The compressor was first tested and it seemed fine. The refrigerator internal computer board was rebooted and tested. It seemed to work fine. Chris explained that a new computer board would be $225. If the old computer board (which seemed to be okay) died within the next two weeks he would come and replace it and there would be no labor charge. Next Chris checked the fan in the freezer drawer. This was the problem; it was not working. He had a replacement fan with him. He replaced the fan and that solved the problem. There was no mention again of the computer being part of the problem. Chris was here approximately 1 1/2 hours. Labor $125 and fan $100 for a total charge of $225. I did not have to throw out any food thanks to the quick response of Appliance Care and having this happen in winter.
Description of Work: Our Maytag French Door Refrigerator was not cooling the upper refrigerator section. The lower freezer section seemed to be maintaining some or all of its cooling. The Appliance Care technician checked the compressor and found it seemed to be working fine. The then checked the electronic (computer) control system which seemed to be working. He then manually turned on the fan that circulates the cool air from the coils in the freezer section to the refrigerator section and found the fan was not working. The repair technician replaced the fan, which immediately restored cooling in the refrigerator section.

I called and left a message. My call was returned within the hour. I explained the problem and my concern that it was perhaps time to replace the machine. Mike was up front about when repairs might not be worth it and explained the cost to evaluate the problem. I chose to have the machine looked at. An appointment was scheduled for the next day. Chris was prompt and efficient. He had the appropriate part in his truck and was able to fix the problem on the first visit.

He very quickly identified and repaired the broken part and left within 45 minutes. He was very friendly, professional and courteous. Mark is fantastic. This was our second call on two different appliances. Mark does the work and gets it done in a timely manner. I highly recommend using this service! Yesterday, our Maytag wall unit microwave stopped heating. This is the second problem with my Maytag units, the first being the refrigerator. They were all installed new two years ago. I called Mark and left a message at 5pm and got a return call at 6pm. I was not at a place I could not provide detailed information so we agreed that we would be in contact in the morning. Mark called me in the morning and we set up the repair for later in the afternoon. My mother lives with me and she has Alzheimer's so she forgets how to answer the phone, so we set it up so he would call me if he was unable to gain access. Mark arrived at my home and called me when the job was done. He had to remove the whole wall unit and replace a transformer within the unit. Mark treated my mother with great respect. I quickly returned home and surveyed the project. Everything works perfectly. This is the only appliance repair service I will use.

Our 7 year old refrigerator totally failed after leaking last week. Another company came and said it was leaking because the doors were not shutting tightly. It was actually leaking because the compressor was failing and today it ended up with no cooling capacity. I called Appliance Care and 1.5 hours later a competent, friendly tech was at my house. He diagnosed the problem as a burned out relay and fixed it quickly. He also told me that to get a new compressor would cost $800 and that we could get a new fridge of equal quality for about $1300. THIS COMPANY IS AWESOME!

I called after hours and actually got to talk to somebody. They gave me a time for the next day from noon to 2pm. At 9:30am I received a call informing me that he could be there sooner, if that was okay. All of the work done was quick and he replaced 2 parts, one that he need to go get and did so very quickly, and informed us of what caused the problem and when to start refilling the refrigerator. Based on how quickly the work was done and how nice and informative they were, I would strongly recommend them!
