I had been given great recommendation by a colleague who had used this company. I just got the estimate, but did not go with the company for a few reasons: 1) Company visit/consultation did not find the true cause of my leak..which was I had lost a piece of corner siding in the same storm that damaged the roof and the siding had opened an area that allowed rain to drain directly onto the wood and under roof. This was found by my insurance adjuster and a different company in a combined visit. 2) price for roof was more than $2000 more than any other company (I had 5 estimates), 3) salesperson seemed inexperienced (I suspect my colleague had a different salesperson), 4) annoyed was asked to choose them, sign papers on the initial consultation, 5) annoyed by follow-up calls asking if I was going to go with them (could be appropriate, but seemed pushy - no other company did that...and primary delay in my deciding was I had asked for reference/estimate on gutters, trim replacement at the initial contact (so not news when they arrived - just said they didn't do it but would get me references). When they called back, I kept asking for the references I had requested before...didn't have until about 3rd call (they'd remember to call me to ask to decide on roof, but seemed to forget what I had told them...that my decision about the roof also depended on budget/price for gutter/trim replacement). Eventually got a price, still higher than other companies. 6) when they did the estimate/evaluation, they made no mention of hail damage and that I should consider a home insurance claim for hail damage for roof; as a new home owner, this would have been appreciated as I was unaware of this - had noticed many of my neighbors needing roof replaced but assumed was due to similar age of house, when in face our neighborhood had experienced extensive hail damage. Later, when I was informed of this by a different company, and I asked this company if they would work with my insurance company, I was told yes, but insurance claim may not cover their costs for roof replacement (and quot;as their roof is higher quality than other roofsand quot;). Basically, this company only does roofs, that's it, which is fine, but given the roof + gutter + trim issues I had for my project, was not going to meet my needs (as these projects seem more affordable when done by one company, than multiple separate companies). I also did not have confidence in them- even though the company had long experience, I think the sales person was newer and I was not confident in the answers I was getting when had questions about what caused the leak, how to prevent in future, etc. I also thought salesperson was pushy, without having the enthusiasm to get the facts/references I requested in a timely fashion that would have helped me make decision.
