They were quick to respond to the original request for a quote and came out as soon as they could. Following the initial walk through, they had a quote in our hands within days. They were always prompt and quick to respond to the initial requests, making it clear that they wanted our business. We signed fairly quickly and had to provide 10% down payment. We were then put and quot;on the listand quot; for the work to be done, knowing that many others were also wanting painting done in the spring. We unfortunately had to wait longer than we wanted, but in the end, the wait was worth it. The team showed up on the days they said they would, the completed the work they said they would, and cleaned up after themselves each day. When we caught a couple things that they missed from the original quote, the confirmed the miss and had a team back out the next day to take care of it. Overall, it was a great customer service experience that did not inconvenience us in any way. I would use them again in the future.

I contacted Quality Painting Systems to provide an estimate to paint the exterior trim of our house after they came recommended by a friend. I was impressed by how knowledgeable the owner was. He also provided paint information. The estimate that I received from this company was the most professional, detailed estimate that I received from any other contractor that I've ever gotten an estimate from. They clearly care about the image of the company and I really appreciated that. I had decided to use another company that had already done work on our house in the past. Otherwise, I would have gone ahead with Quality Painting Systems. I would contact them again in the future. *Note: An earlier review was poorly transcribed by an Angie's List representative that contacted me to provide reviews on companies that I had done searches on. I was so unimpressed with what was written that I decided to rewrite the review again, since I believe this is a good company even though we went another way.

Response from Quality Painting Systems
Thank you for posting some great rating information and the opportunity to provide a detailed proposal for your project. Your proposal request was very early in the exterior painting season, I was happy to be able to commit (weather allowing) to your project timing requirements, although if your project was in the proposal stage today (early June) our busiest time, I would have made you aware of our weather effected exterior scheduling running 4-5 weeks. I certainly don't recall using any inappropriate language when at your home, I certainly would have not used with in ear shot of your children, regardless, pleas accept my apologies. Please let me clarify your last comment, as it indicates I used foul language once I was aware that my company was not chosen to complete your project, I was made aware many days later by email that I was not chosen for your project, in which I replied by email that I hope to have another opportunity someday to make you one of my happy customers. I'm sure your intent was not mean spirited as it was written. Thank you again for the opportunity.

Because of a relative's death, I inherited my old family home in Michigan in December 2012. My husband and I live in North Carolina. After the estate sale in January, my realtor suggested we do some painting and floor repair to increase the value, before listing the house for sale. Mike Jackson of Quality Painting beat out two great Angie's List companies to get the job. Here's what I liked about him. Because I was 4 states away, my realtor Rosanne meet all 3 company representatives at the house, told them what she wanted done, and later even picked the paint color, at my request. Mike said he'd have a written estimate in by Thursday and did--the first one sent. He e-mailed it to both of us. The quote was very detailed, and competitive in cost. Quality Painting Systems actually had the lowest bid by a few dollars. Mike also promised the price was and quot;locked inand quot;. He kept his word--we didn't pay a penny more. As soon as I signed the contract, the painters came the next day and had all walls, ceilings etc. repaired and painted within 3 days. Thoughout the process, Mike kept me informed by e-mail and phone, with 'before and after' images on Flicker. My realtor did a final inspection when the painting was finished upstairs. (Because of her profession, she's far more likely to spot problems then I am.) The wood floors and other 'paint-free' surfaces were kept clean. All the walls were repaired--one wall section had water damage and was actually replaced. In place of old, dingy rooms of various colors, the interior was now a clean, fresh white. Then I discovered the basement hadn't been included in the first quote. (An oversight on my part, not his.) We had some extra money, and hired Quality Painting Systems a second time. The cement basement walls and a vertical plumbing pipe were repainted in about a day. Lastly they retouched the kitchen walls after the flooring people were done, at no additional cost. This is an excellent company!
Description of Work: Replaced and painted water damaged section of interior wall in one room. Repaired and prepped walls for re-painting after 20-30 years of neglect. Cleaned decades of accumulated grease off of the kitchen wall, after the gas stove had been removed. Painted walls, ceilings, shelves, doors, closets and the basement stairwell a clean, fresh white. Did touch-up work in the kitchen, after the new floor was laid, at no additional cost. Finally they painted the basement walls, made of concrete, the same shade of white, along with a vertical plumbing pipe.
