I recommend Mark and his team. They do nice work, the team are professional and pleasant and they handle odds and ends while they are here without charging more or making a fuss about it. They are careful around my elderly parents and pets. The outside work was the bulk of the work, my house is a two story with a walkout basement, so the work that needed to be done, in many places was very high. I have a back deck off the main story, with a stairway going to the basement level. They had to paint all the wood, and replace the caps. Looks great. The inside work was a running list, that they knocked out for me. They clean up after themselves too. When I called Mark on the weekend, about my sink collapsing, he called me right back, came over the next day to assess and came back the day after to fix. (We could still use the sink, we had it propped up. I appreciate that kind of turnaround and service, without charging me an arm and a leg on the weekend. Mark and his team did a lot of work for me last year, when I purchased the home and it needed some renovations and painting. One of the things that I really like about Mark is he shares his opinion, about options on how to handle something and if he thinks something is a poor idea. They will continue to be my go to team for my home.

Overall I'm very happy with the how the project turned out - the staircase looks great and the new railing for the loft blends in the with staircase well. However, we went over on our personal budget. I never requested a concrete estimate from Mark, which we should have done so we could be better prepared. The work did take longer than originally estimated, and I think that's primarily where we went over budget. The final price didn't differ substantially from other quotes I did get, and the quality of the work was very good. Mark was a pleasure to work with and is a just a friendly, enjoyable person to communicate with. We'll do a better job getting an idea of the overall cost of the project before we begin next time, and Mark will be at the top of our list to do the work.

I put in a request for an estimate on a kitchen/bath remodel...but never heard back from them...

Mark asked me to email my address and services required, which I did. I haven't heard anything at all back in 8 days, even an acknowledgement that it was received. It would have been fine if he had said he was too busy or otherwise engaged.

I was caught in a bind and needed some work done quickly. I called Mark and he was over later that day. I was busy and took a couple days to get back to him, but did so on Saturday night. He said he could get me a guy on Tuesday, but I really needed someone there earlier. He made it happen and Mark had a worker there at 7 am on Monday. I was really surprised and impressed. John, Mark's worker, worked really hard and everything came out looking great. While he was waiting for the drywall to dry, he even helped me rip up floors and gave me a lot of good advice in general. Throughout the process, Mark checked and in and made sure everything was going smoothly. I could not have asked for a better experience...Mark is definitely on top of it and a gets stuff done. I would 100% recommend him to anyone else. Thanks Mark.

Mark Ellis Builders exceeded our expectations. Not only did we get more than we paid for, they were extremely professional. They are our go-to for any future handyman projects!

I'm mostly happy with Mark and his crew's work. They got a fair amount of work done quickly, and it looks good. For the work, I was quoted roughly 25 man hours and $300 in materials. At the end of the job, we were at 52 man hours and $500 in materials. The only thing that I can think of that was added after they started the work is that they would have to provide some KILZ for the bathroom walls that I thought I had on hand. Still, the final price was better than some other estimates that I had gotten. And, the work was done quickly, and upon initial inspection, well done. I will be using Mark's services again, but will try to get a firmer price up front in the future.

This was our first time working with Mark and his team. We are satisfied with the speed and quality of the work provided. We needed to get a rental property on the market ASAP. I asked Mark when was the earliest he could come. Not only did he juggle his schedule so that he could come the VERY NEXT DAY, his team showed up 30 minutes early eager and ready to work. His team was flexible and knowledgeable.They installed a toilet, sink, light fixture, and closet doors, repaired drywall, painted, caulked, etc. I had an opportunity to work along this team all day as we hustled to finish a long list of overdue projects. They also came back quickly to fix an error they made (at no charge, of course). Thanks guys!

Mark Ellis has been one of the most professional contractors that I had the pleasure of dealing with. He was prompt in responding to emails and started work within 1 day of contacting him. The quality of work has been great as well, and even cleaned up as much as possible before leaving the house. I would definitely recommend him if you want someone who is on time, reliable and does good quality work. It seems these characteristics are a rare among contractors but Mark Ellis & his crew has all of them.

Mark is a whirl wind of energy and coordinates both the actions of his team along with the desires of the homeowner on a daily basis. Mark and his team are Professional, and Perfectionism! That is what you get for your projects. Our project needed to be finished in very tight schedule, and was finished exactly on time. The team came in the house every morning around 7:00am, and Mark was normally already in the house around 6:30am, everyday! And Yes, Mark is highly energetic, great leadership over this project, and I can tell he and everyone in his team put a lot of heart in their work. Highly recommended for all aspects of home improvement. Great crew of workers that were hardworking, efficient, cared about their craft, and very very courteous.

Amazing service - Mark and his team arrived right on time and started immediately! I had to leave for work for half the day, but when I got back things were looking pretty sharp. A few hours later they wrapped up and everything was left looking as good as new! Everyone was very professional and friendly, and I'll definitely call them again if I need work done in the future. Strongly recommend!

We closed on our new house on 2/12/2015. Mark and his crew started working the next day. They showed up on time and were very well organized. They worked on our house for 3 weeks and after we moved into the house, he made sure that his materials would not be in the way and kept the work site very clean. They did an excellent job with the kitchen renovations! He is very meticulous and goes above and beyond to make sure that the work he does is perfect including addressing issues that were not part of the original scope of work. No short cuts. The paint job in all of the rooms was the best I've ever seen. Any assistance we needed to move furniture or boxes around, his team jumped right on it. He even went out of his way to help me try to fix my garage door that broke unexpectedly. My only complaint and it is very minor is that we should have determined a set budget for the work to be completed. We went over what I planned to spend but it well worth it. Otherwise, outstanding work and we will definitely be using him again for our exterior projects in the summer!!!

The work was excellent. The workers arrived on time, were very professional and cleaned up when finished. They did exactly what they said they were going to do and we are very pleased with the work.

Mark Ellis called me on a Sunday morning in response to a message I had left on his answering machine the previous week. We scheduled a meeting for Monday at 11 for him to view the ceiling, he was exactly on time. He looked at the room and the ceiling, we talked about different options for the work, and we settled on a plan. He said the cost would be $500 and I readily agreed. We agreed that his employee would begin the work the next day at 8 a.m. And the guy was here within minutes of 8:00. He was very kind and polite. He was later joined by another worker. The two worked throughout the day, save a few periods where they were waiting for the mud or plaster to dry. During these periods, they got in one of their vehicles and drove away. They finished shortly after 5:00 and the work was beautiful. They cleaned up nicely after themselves and even patched a broken patch of a nearby wall that I hadn't asked them to work on. My only regret is that I didn't get the name of the very kind and talented men who did the work. I will definitely call Mark Ellis Builders again for work on my home.

Overal the project went well. This was a major project that involved new flooring in dining and kitchen (tiles), brand new kitchen with cabinets, applicances, etc, Full house painting, new closets, complete remodelling of three bathrooms, and finishing of the basement. We had used Mark Ellis for a smaller project few months back which he did a good job. Encouraged by his past work, we asked him to undertake this major renovation project. We asked Mark to start the project on a certain date (Dec 8th, 2014) and work continuously till it is completed. Mark did live up to that commitment. He and his crew worked almost 6 days a week and completed the the project in appx 8 weeks. He and his crew are very friendly and know what they are doing. Mark is very responsive to emails, texts, and phone calls. Since this was a significant rennovation - the cost was significant as well. In hindsight - we should done this project on a fixed price vs. paying an hourly rate. This is the main reason I have given "B" on the cost category. We continue to use Mark's services for follow projects.

Mark is very high energy. He drove the project home and completed everything set forth. The projects went over budget but everything was finished earlier than I thought possible. The quality of work is very good. There were a few bumps in the road along the way. I do have a couple of qualms about the experience. There were some piles of white construction debris left in the snow, which I didn't discover until spring. The crew left cigarettes and trash in the compost bins, so I need to clean that out. We had disagreements here and there about grout and different things, but overall we couldnt be happier with the craftsmanship. Other sort of unpleasant surprises include; no paint left over for patching, and a couple of items missing (broom, crow bar, and snips )

What a nice experience! Mark and his guys did a great job and were so pleasant as they did everything that could be done on my considerably long list. I have already recommended them to friends.

This is the 2nd time we contracted Mark for his services. Again he and his team did an excellent job with the install. Walked us through how they were going to do the work. Our kitchen counter looks fantastic! We will hire him again for other updates we need to have done to our house and I would recommend him to anyone!

Three different times we have been promised an 8 am start time by this provider, but they have never showed up to do the work.

Such good guy ... so kind he did it for free. It was a quick job...probably 10 minutes, but customer service like that is hard to find these days. Very responsive, good people ... USE THEM!!! I will again in the future for sure.

All the installers were on-time; professional; listened to what I wanted; made good suggestions; were respectful of me and my house. I would hire them again based on their work. It was good to know that there are trusted builders.

The job went very well and was quick. All work completed in approximately 48 hours. Working with Mark's "time and materials" solution to project completion gives the owner shared control over work being completed. Their attention to detail and care that goes into the work is comforting and continues to build confidence. There are many contractors that can accomplish "the work", but what gives me continued confidence in Mark and his team is the care in what they do. The respect and empathy that they show the homeowners squashes the typical contractor stereotype. This will remain a business partnership for continued work in the future.

Mark's team was very conscientious, professional and thorough throughout the project. They did a great job from tear down to completion to removing construction debris. In the few instances where everything wasn't exactly as I expected, ex. dog door was a bit too high, they re-did the work and made it right. I was so pleased with their work that I also added in re-wiring the garage and adding two new door openers. I can't say enough of how pleased I am to have such a large task completed well.
