Terrible.
Description of Work: Very unprofessional. Tried to use my teenage sons room as a storage unit while working on my bathroom and kitchen, proceeded to go off on my 13 year old son because of his "un tidy" room. Told me the job would be completed within a couple weeks.....6 weeks later my son and I were still without a bathroom. My kitchen and bathroom were both gutted for way to long. The workers would come and go when they pleased. The owner lives 2 streets down from me yet they were never on time and the job took way to long. After paying $9000 within 2 weeks of the "completed" job things were falling apart, sinks were leaking ect. The owner was a loose cannon spaz, rude and totally the definition of unprofessional and I believe tried to take advantage of my self as a young single woman. Don't let the A ratings fool ya!

Description of Work: Prompt service, excellent workmanship, on re-flooring a shed and building a deck. Couldn't be more pleased.
Description of Work: They replaced the wood rot around my windows. The workers did great work. However, I had to contact Mark on several occasions and he kept saying he would be coming out. He then would not show up by the date and only contacted me after I contacted him to try to find out when he was coming. This happened a few times. Thus, the work was great but the punctuality and communication were poor.

Description of Work: Mark Ellis Builders built a gorgeous sunroom with 22 windows and an 8-foot doorwall. The scope of work included installing the windows, doorwall, and trim; caulking; and painting. In addition to the major sunroom project, Mark Ellis personally designed and installed a custom stainless steel backsplash, and Ron repaired drywall and painted specific kitchen surfaces. | |Mark and his crew brought wide-ranging capabilities, an industrious work ethic, and superb craftsmanship to our projects large and small. Their quality of craftsmanship is top-notch; we simply cannot find a single flaw in their work. Mark demands perfection and hard work, and that is what he and the team deliver, no matter how large or small the project. Everyone on Mark's team has a keen eye for aesthetics combined with the skills, expertise, and work ethic required to take a project from vision to reality. | |Mark, Ron, Brook, Joe, Matt, and Austin kept all work areas neat and orderly throughout the projects. They always cleaned up thoroughly and never left anything out of place. Moreover, they took care to protect our hardwood floors and granite countertops while working in the kitchen. | |We truly enjoyed having such respectful, polite, and capable craftsmen working in our home. With their impressive expertise and beautiful work, they have earned our confidence, our trust, and our future business.
Description of Work: They did flooring (wood and stone), hung closet doors, put in 2 ceiling fans and lights under kitchen cabinets. They did a great job and were very professional. All my questions and concerns were answered. Very pleased!

Description of Work: Had Mark come out to give me an estimate for my small job. Gave me a verbal price, told me he would email the written estimate, and said his guys would come out the following week. All the rain delayed it a week, understandable. But when nothing happened, I tried contacting him about his schedule. Repeated attempts by phone and email got no response. No revised schedule, no written estimate. I gave up and went with another handyman. Giving him a D overall because his initial visit went well.

Description of Work: Boughtn a big deal. I had to call the provider mult times over a 2 mth period for the work to be done. That said, after 6-10 calls, he did come out and do a good job. If this is your usual experience with a contractor, I guess he's par for the course. I'd like someone more responsive and punctual, but I may be dreaming.

They did a good job. I felt it took longer than it should have but they were really good and professional. They did include mess ups on their part as part of total time worked so that was the issue that I had however, I do acknowledge that they have one of the most competitive hourly rates in town. He was a super nice guy and the team was great, the charge for the time was the only problem. They were easy to work with and very professional.
Description of Work: They hung pictures, a flat screen TV, and they hid all the wires as well. They put weather stripping on the garage and acid washed the grout in bathrooms and the kitchen.
I first met Mark Ellis back in April when I responded to an Angie’s List deal for a handyman. I had a long list of minor repairs and jobs around the house that needed to be done before putting my house on the market. Mark showed up for an estimate within just a few hours of my calling him. He was friendly, respectful, and very confident that he could take care of my to-do list in one day. The following week, he showed up with his crew of amazing workers who did just that. I was so impressed by how well everything was done that I ended up having them replace my siding, roof, and kitchen. Throughout the entire process, Mark was always available, keeping the channels of communication open, and just being an excellent manager of the entire project. He has a great sense of style and did all the shopping for me, which I really appreciated since I did not have the time. He insists on quality work and has hired an incredibly talented crew. I was impressed by how well organized he keeps his workbenches and equipment. They also clean up well at the end of each day. Always, there was consideration and respect for me and what I needed. I have had to move out-of-state for a new job and did not have time to stay until the project was completed. Mark, of course, told me not to worry. He would finish up the house and make it look presentable for showing to prospective buyers. So two months later, I have a beautifully redone house and what could have been a stressful experience has actually been quite fun. I feel so fortunate to have found someone like Mark to work on my house. He really enjoys his work and it shows. You may even get to see him sing and dance on the job! If I had not moved away, I would definitely retain him as my maintenance person for future home improvements. I know I can count on him to get the job done right! I have not only ended up with a fabulous “new” house in a short amount of time, but also gained a wonderful new friend!
Description of Work: First visit: Repair drywall cracks and imperfections throughout house, replaced area of drywall in bedroom, removed old alarm system, replaced bathroom fan and vented it properly through roof, replaced bath light fixture, patched and tiled area around furnace. Major project: New roof (complete tear-off), new vinyl siding, new front door, painted garage and replaced side door, new garage door opener, removed old shed, new kitchen (new cabinets and appliances), ceiling fan installed, new light fixtures (interior and exterior), whole house new carpet, painted 3 bedrooms, kitchen/hallway, living room, interior doors, closets, and utility cabinets, installed tile area of front entryway, new vertical blinds in kitchen and living room, resealed deck, and numerous other miscellaneous small jobs.

Mark and his team were very professional and did excellent work. In addition to painting they fixed areas where the wood had rotted and the house and shed look much better now. Also did little things which I would not have thought of like replacing doorknobs. Were very flexible as they had to work with uncooperative weather. I would definitely use them on other projects.
Description of Work: Prepped and painted house and shed. Replaced rotten wood in several places. Replaced door knobs and outdoor lantern and several other small tasks.

Mark Ellis and his team of 3 did an excellent job. They finished the dry wall repair and painted our bedroom in just under 6 hours. They were punctual, courteous, took excellent care of our hardwood floors while working in the house, and even vacuumed the room after they were done. We are more than happy with the new color and the look of our bedroom and would hire Mark Ellis and his team again anytime.

WOW! Mark, Mike and crew provided quality service beyond my expectations. I am moving and wanted to fix things and spruce up others. They made additional recommendations that were spot on; so make a list of everything to be done and hire this company. What they accomplished in one day with a crew would take one handyman more than a week to accomplish. I will be having them back next week to do more work.

The whole experience working with Mark Ellis Builders was excellent. He did a great job with the cupboard installation and cleaned up very well after completion . I would definitely use him for any type work I need in the future.
Description of Work: Mark Ellis arrived exactly at the time he said he would. He was very professional. He installed very nice cabinets in our family room and we are very happy with the way they look. It wasn't an easy job because the walls and ceiling were not level, but he figured it out and they look great. His pricing was very fair. He and his assistant thoroughly cleaned up after they finished and the room is totally back to normal, or better. This is very important to me. The pricing included cabinets and labor. I would definitely use Mark Ellis in the future for any work that I need. Pat Ballard
I contact Mark to handle jobs that are too tough or too annoying for others. I can count on him!
Description of Work: In addition to many other projects, Mark constructs and installs lovely custom furniture and shelving for bedrooms in our sorority. The quality of his work is exceptional and his responsiveness and follow through is terrific.

Mark Ellis not only created a magnificent custom built bookcase in my house, but blended it seamlessly into our 100 year old home, so much so that others believe it's original to our home. He kept our house clean, didn't mind periodic interventions from our pets and kids, and was done on time and on budget. Additionally, he's done all kinds of other jobs at our house, earning our trust such that I'm comfortable calling Mark and asking him to pop over and fix something while I'm at work. He has access to our house at any time and has been a great resource for us when we have jobs big and small. He's done finish carpentry, plumbing, painting and basic handyman repairs for us over the last few years and we couldn't be happier. Most recently, he repaired a leaky kitchen sink and checked our possibly broken hot water heater. Mark may not be the cheapest handyman you can find, especially for finish carpentry or painting, but you definitely get what you pay for! He preps surfaces for painting unlike any other company we've had. He uses the right brushes, cleans up when done and makes the walls in our 100 year old house look perfect.
Description of Work: Most recently, we had a leaky garbage disposal and/or kitchen sink. Based on our past experiences, we chose Mark Ellis to come over and repair the sink and were pleased with the price and service provided.
Mark Ellis and Company are excellent estimators, material purchasers and workers. Mark is always professional, helpful, timely and punctual and creative.
Description of Work: Construction of shelving, soffit repair, squirrel removal, scraping and caulking of front entry and basement window, replacement of utility sink pump, exterior sign painting, fence painting and repair, painting of office walls, general thorough cleaning, installation of sensor lights and switch, appliance cleaning, repair of basement handrail, wood floor cleaning and treatment, deck cleaning and treatment, installation of door hinges
