John Penning & Son Plumbing

Everything went fine. The bill seemed VERY excessive so we called 2 other reputable companies in area and found the cost we payed was DOUBLE. We recognize we should have gotten bids before we had Penning do the job but they would have still charged a initial visit cost to diagnose the problem with our water heater. We then contacted Mr. Penning to share our findings and were told that we are paying for 'Cadillac' service. Hmmm, so if you don't mind paying twice as much for said Cadillac services; which is the same service any of them would have given; how many ways are there to replace a valve? Then go with Penning, but we will never contact them again. After sharing our story with a few family members and friends, we heard the same thing from everyone. ..."they are so expensive".

I've used John Penning and Son Plumbing many times. They continue to be very competitive on price and they have always been punctual, professional, extremely knowledgeable, and very polite. I refer them to everyone I can because I've been so happy with the service they have provided. They take great care to make sure the area is clean when they leave and I've never been surprised by a bill except how low it is sometimes.

First I would say - Something could have happened to the Penning and Sons person that was totally beyond their control. We scheduled appointments with four heating and cooling contractors on a Friday to accept bids to replace our furnace . Penning and Sons required a three hour window ( 9 -12 ) ,which we thought was normal for a service call, but odd for a bid appointment. Each of the other companies scheduled for that afternoon about an hour and a half apart. All were prompt. We never received a call from anyone with P and S saying they would be late and with the other contractors already scheduled, sometime after 12:00 I called P and S and canceled the appointment. The receptionist took it quite calmly and began to page through her appointment book to reschedule us. We did not reschedule.

They got the work done, but I felt it was overly expensive to do two simple jobs.

Responded promptly to our call. Service person was considerate of our home and left it clean as when he arrived following the services being performed.

Could have gone better with a city approved inspection. Pricing was a little high when compared to other local plumbers.

It always goes well. One thing we appreciate is that they are very cleanly.

He was very patient and explained every thing to me. He answered all my questions and helped me make an informed decision. He ordered a water heater which is made in Michigan and arranged to have it installed the following week..

They are extremely reliable, very professional and get the job done right every time they come out. I love the prices and the fact that they don t mind explaining what they do when they fix something.

My wife was returning home from the hospital and there was no heat in the house. It was an emergency so we called the men to come out within the same day. They did so and replaced the thermostat. They were professional and very courteous. I just wish the price wasn't as high as it was. If we ever have an emergency like that again, we will use them.

THEY WERE AT THE HOUSE THE VERY NEXT DAY THAT I CALLED AND I REALLY FEEL THAT WAS FAST SERVICE. THEY REALLY DID SOME GREAT WORK WHILE THEY WERE HERE AND EVEN DID A FEW EXTRA THINGS THAT WE WEREN'T PLANNING ON.
