TruGreen Lawn Care - 5786

I been using them for almost 17 years and they are becoming terrible. Thye let the grubs eat all the grass in my backyard. They want to do anything cheap. They ruin my grass.

To follow up with True Green, they answer the phone but the guys that come out, they are fine, they do the job, there is no follow up but if a guy does follow up they never return the same guy that was good, they send out a guy that don’t know nothing and so if you have a lawn problem what they do is they get a sales person, some dollar guy, on the phone that will try to sell you a plugging job for $100 plus or some other job. They are a sales and marketing outfit. I am going to be looking somebody else for this next year because I fungus problem and I didn’t want to treat it myself because I’ve got health problems. The only reason I stayed with them too is they reduced, they kept the price low. They are $100 year less than almost anybody else. So we’re stuck. But you had to negotiate with them to get it down. When they start out their price is $275 and I have got Scot’s down to $160 so they start out high and people say you got to go to Turkey or Istanbul to be bartering, no I find it in my businesses, this is what I do around this country. You can barter almost anything.

What I liked about them was that they cleaned up after themselves. But my grass does not really look good at all. It looks better when I fertilize it myself. They could quit blowing up people's lawns.

They burnt out the grass with their products two years in a row! Our lawn looks like straw.

They have done a wonderful job. Especially my tree and shrub guy. He is really knowledgeable and he knows what he is talking about. He has been very helpful. He is an old timer and I can share things with him that my godmother use to do. We just have wonderful conversations. They say they will be at your home at a specific time you do not have to be home. They come when they say they are going to come and you don't have to be home. The little sign is there and the thing is on the door. I am still using them.

I have never seen such pathetic service. All their managers promise big things but with little action. They spoiled my lawn and when I complained, they finally sent someone (was supposed to be their most experienced guy). The guy couldn't find any issue with my lawn, except one! that I was not paying enough. Give me a break. I had weeds, thinned spots and that he could not see. They boast of deep root fertilization. My spruce trees have thinned out ever since they took over. They probably use plain water. Should have fired them way back when. Managers, Chris Johnson, John and Service Manager Rich are all customer unfriendly. I was even charged for a service that was not done. When I fired them, they didn't refund me the entire amount. Stay away from these guys.

I am happy. They are a big company, a conglomerate or whatever. They will come back out in the spring again if I hire them again. I will probably will.

They are ok and good. Their sales people are a little too harassy.

They totally lured my request to give us advance noticed because we have pets, they go outsides. I do know that they were little higher on price.

Trugreen fertilizes the lawn 5-6 times per season. The service is very good. They leave a detailed explanation of the service provided and leave markers to indicate that they have fertilized the lawn. My lawn looks great.

They have done a good job controlling weeds and stuff in my lawn. They're a lot greener. Their pricing is probably in the middle. I'm sure they're competitive with other companies. I'm hoping they'll do better this year than what they did last year. I just felt that last year they didn't do an adequate job like they did the year before. They were changing hands or different systems or something. I don't know.

They get rid of the crabb grass/add fertilizer/close to fall they use other fertilizer

They are already having troubles because dandelions and crab grass are growing. Responsiveness is very good.

At the local level the personnel and technicians are pleasant and knowledgeable. We canceled the service because of the aggressive phone calls. One salesman was so aggressive that my husband told him to stop calling. The phone call was so rude that we did not want to continue with this company. I suspect that the phone calls came from the corporate office, if so, what a pity for the local branch of the company. Strong arm tactics may work in the short run, but they get tiresome when they intrude on one's peace and tranquillity at home. I am sure this company would retain more customers if they stopped calling people in such an aggressive manner.

I used them off and on for years and I just keep hoping that my next experience with them is going to be positive. They advertise that they will do all the work, and they will come out and evaluate your lawn and do what it takes. If there are any problems with it they will let you know. They come out on a regular basis and they do what they are supposed to do but if your lawn develops any issues whatsoever, they are not going to be on top of it. As far as pricing, their pricing is competitive.

If you start with these people, you will never get rid of them. They did come and do something, but the lawn looked much better when I switched to another company in 2010. I have now switched back to the other company. I can't remember why I allowed them to come back in 2011, except that their salesmen are very aggressive, and they assume that you want to restart service each year, without calling. Salesman lied to me about tree service. When the workers arrived to do the treatment, they said the the problem was not treatable. They are easy to reach if you want to order additional services. If you want to cancel, they put you on hold forever, hoping you will give up. About 2 weeks ago, my wife spent 30 minutes on the phone, trying to cancel the service. She finally succeeded, or so she thought. Then today, I got a robo-call, saying that they were coming next Tuesday. I called back, spent a few minutes on hold, then got a representative. She was very polite, put me on hold again, and came back with a and quot;cancellation numberand quot;. My wife did not gat a and quot;cancellation numberand quot; when she called the first time, so they may have just ignored her call. This is a horrible company. They're all about and quot;salesand quot;, not so much aboutand quot; serviceand quot;. They are very difficult to teach by phone, salesmen are pushy and don't listen. I got a similar service for this year from another company, for less than $300.

I have used this TruGreen location in the past. They did a very good job for me, but last year, mid-season, I decided to try out another company that used the granular based fertilizers instead of the sprays. My lawn didn't look as nice as when TruGreen treated it, so I called them today to see if I could hire them for this year. WOW! I am in SHOCK! From the price I paid 2 summers ago and was even quoted at the beginning of last year, the price has more than TRIPLED ($22.40 per app in 2010/2011 to $67.92 per app in 2012)! I got the story of how some of the sales guys in the past were undercharging the customers and the new management put an end to that, but the funny thing about that is, I was talking to the same rep as I had always talked to for the past 5 years, so he was essentially saying this about himself that he wasn't "on the up and up". Something about this seems very, very fishy and I will not be hiring them this year for that reason.

One word TERRIBLE!! My lawn looks worse now after a full year of treatment. I called to complain and nobody called back.After several call, somebody finally came to look at the lawn, and promise that it will be re-treated and over seeded, that was in august. 2 month later nobody ever came, I probably called 20 times and would never get an answer.Finally somebody, in late October, called back to tell me that it was too late to do the treatment and over seed. Very disapointed, extremely poor customer service.

They did a fence for us. The fence was great, but, the concrete work they did, wasn't. It's to nice to have an expert, we've been satisfied. We had some weeds last year that their treatment didn't address, but, they said they are working on it. It didn't kill some weeds we have. It's $34 a treatment. It is consistent, they put it down everywhere, but, it doesn't cover the specific kind of weed we had. I give them average ratings and will use them again in the future. I used to use another company that was higher, but, I haven't compared prices. If I call and complain, they come right back out. They leave a note on the door if I'm not there.
