For this type of work, the Ingham County permitting process outlines exactly what work is to be performed. None of the bidders came out to evaluate the task--it was all done by email. Be prepared to pay by check or pay a 3.5% credit card fee. This was true with all the bids received. All-Terrain Alterations was did the job for $3,000 LESS than the next bidder. Remember, this is for exactly the same work as specified by the county. Tim B., company owner, was generally responsive and was very informative. The crew arrived on time, worked diligently for 12 hours. The old septic tank was crushed in place, the new one placed, the plumbing connection to the existing discharge pipe was completed, new trenches were dug and lined, pipe laid, 400 yards of gravel installed. The soil was replaced and regraded. Clean-up was excellent and thorough. We had a site complication: a crab apple tree had to be removed in order to accommodate the new drainage grid. The excavators knocked the tree down with our consent and moved it out of the way, my husband found someone to remove it for $200--stump and all--and work continued very timely. This project was completed according to the estimated bid, no overages or unexpected fees. Be aware when contemplating this work that weather conditions can make scheduling challenging. Load limits also need to be off roads so the heavy trucks and loads and be moved. With the rainy spring and summer, it seemed like we were never going to get this project completed. But as soon as conditions and the company's schedule permitted, the work was done. All -Terrain did a great job. The crew was pleasant and professional. And we saved $3,000. We highly recommend this company.
