He provides cost estimates up front and sticks to budget. Any changes in the work orders are discussed and priced ahead of time. Family sensitive. We are very pleased with the work that he does for us. Would highly recommend him.

+ 1 moreMyOAK kitchen cabinets are 30 plus years old but still in pretty good shape with some minor repairs needed. We were considering a new granite countertop but wasn't sure I wanted to spend that much money on granite and install it over OLD cabinets. I called Gary Melchi for a quote on New cabinets and installation. Gary walked in and the first thing he said was "I've got to tell you I think I would keep the cabinets, give them a good cleaning, new clear coat, make some updates with trim work and repair a few things on them. I would rather see you put the money in a grainite countertop and flooring." He was honest about what he saw, because he could have sold me NEW. I could not believe how nice the cabinets look after Gary worked his magic on them. In fact the granite installers thought they were new.
Description of Work: my oak kitchen cabinets and face frames were restained if needed and then clear coated and then put back up. Repairs made to two lazy susans and new pull out pantry shelf and stationary shelf added. Mini crown molding, new kick boards, scribs, and v board skins added, and an oak valance put up over the kitchen window to connect the cabinets. New farm sink and faucet added, and new granite countertop. Old countertop removal and install new.
