They followed up with me very nicely and I got a response from them. I didn’t select them because of the pricing, but they were terrific to work with. Jim was very nice and knowledgeable. He came out here and his quote was significantly more. I loved everything about them except for their price.

Overall the job went like a dream! I left for work one morning, came home in the evening and the sprinklers were in. The next day the topsoil and sod went down, as well as all the plantings and the whole project took form. It took about three to four days to get everything together then it looked like it was always there! The only thing I would have done differently was passed on the wood mulch. With the constant watering new sod needs to take root and establish the lawn, the mulch used in future flower beds and around the plantings was always wet. This caused every fungus known to the yard to pop up-- toad stools, mushrooms, elephant ears, etc! Next time I would have used lava rock, gravel or something not organic and decaying. Also, one small tree did not adjust well and subsequently died, but true to their guaruntee, West Oaks replaced it cheerfully.

Excellent service. Because of rains, service was delayed but they kept us informed of status of project and started at at a reasonable time. The job was repairing our sidewalk and it was extremely well done. Further, they replaced any grass removed in the process and the final product is beautiful. Very, very good company!!

The owner and/or manager, forgot his name, came over and spent an hour or so with me and my wife while we explained want we wanted. He provided some excellent suggestions/options that fit nicely into our property and existing landscaping. Was very honest about costs for various options. They were backed up with other jobs and some bad weather delayed the start date by a couple weeks. However, once they started, it went quick, we made a few changes on the fly that didn't change the costs much from original quote and improved the overall results. Both my wife and I were very please with the quality of the work, the professionalism and final price compared to other landscaping companies we had called.

Was very satisfied with work. Jim's team was hard working, made sure they cleaned up the work site at the end of the day. Jim offered several options to keep the costs down. Good value for money spent.

Fantastic! Jim came over several times to meet with us and get and provide job details. His crew was always on time and did an excellent job. They cleaned up after themselves and finished the job on time. Many of our neighbors commented on how beautiful our home looked.

I selected West Oaks because of the reviews here on Angie’s List and I can only add more praise. From the very first phone call to the very end, this was a wonderful experience. Jim is an absolute pleasure to work with. It’s obvious that he has a passion for the work that he does and his enthusiasm is infectious. He took pictures of our house and came back with a beautiful plan on paper. On the scheduled date Jim and his crew came and brought all the materials and plants we discussed, including others that he thought we might like, which we did. The plan on paper was beautiful enough but WOW you all should see my house now! People I don’t even know stop by to compliment us on the beautiful landscape. The crew was also very impressive. Not only did they work very hard, they also had an artistic sense which added to the overall design and execution.

It turned out great. Jim met with us 3 times before we decided to go ahead with project. The crew (Jim included) showed up in the AM and started removal. After removals they planted the two trees which were focal point. They then planted shrubs and plants, moving them many times for the best look. Completing the project with edging, mulch and clean up. All in 1 day of work. Looks beautiful.

Jim was a dream to work with on this project. He took our input and quickly came up with a plan that we liked. He and his team got started on time, and then stayed on time and on budget. Jim was extremely knowledgeable and creative (design-wise and problem solving-wise) and was always accessible and responsive throughout the project. In addition, his teams were all very professional and reliable. And, they always cleaned up at the end of the day. We were very happy with the overall working relationship and really love the beautiful results. We have had many people stop by and tell us how much they like what we have done and how great our yard looks!

WOW- can not say thank you enough to Jim and the crew for what they did. Above and beyond, did many extra things, were flexible with the changes we wanted and offered great advice. I hate these kinds of projects and this was a very pleasurable experience.

It was a very good experience. I spoke with Jim Liebau of West Oakes and several other Landscape companies last Fall and asked to have my retaining wall, that was starting to lean over, rebuilt. Jim was the only one to come up with a very creative and much nicer looking alternative. I was initially thinking of replacing the 4 ft high concrete brick wall with a two tier wall made out of some kind of engineered blocks. Jim suggested I consider boulders and he made many other suggestions about the flower beds and additional boulders in other areas of the yard to tie it all together. His suggestions made the results look very good. Then while he tried to fit my job in early December, we had snow too soon to get it done. So he did it in late March. His crew did a very good job and took a lot of care to save bushes that were already at the top of the wall. He was also pretty careful about not damaging the ssptic system drainage field which was near the wall. They did more than I expected, mulching flower beds that were not included in the job and cutting some bushes to make them look better. West Oaks did more than they had to and made the resulting landscaping look terrific. I would definitely use West Oaks in the future. Jim also made some great suggestions on additional planting to put in the new flower beds.

He provided really good ideas and worked with me to come up with a plan. He also spent a lot of time with me and didn't rush. Everyone who came out to work was very nice and helpful. He went above and beyond my expectations. He was also very happy to follow up with any questions that I had.

They were generally good. They were alittle bit slow towards the end, but overall I was pleased.

Jim Liebau is truly a talented designer. Last season he designed and installed hardscape patios for us. This year he contacted us in March, just as he promised, and did the work as described above. His workmen are professional, very neat, and fast on the job.

Jim Liebau is one of the most professional people we have ever dealt with. We began this project by interviewing seven potential contractors. Jim easily came out on top. His price was more than competitive, he was by far the most interactive and flexible of all the contractors and the most creative. We have a large yard and Jim and his team worked very hard to integrate the new work with the lands dimensions, contours and existing contours as well as integrating into the overall design, the placement and construction of our ranch home. We wanted a contemporary design and that is unusual in today's market. Jim and his crews were able to accommodate that and we now have a stunning backyard. Jim was also the best listener by far. He went out of his way to listen to us, incorporate our ideas and make them real. His flexibility and understanding are unique. The quality of work was outstanding. Jim's experience saved us much time and effort. The crews Jim brought were very thorough and easy to be around. They focused on quality and doing the job right. We never felt rushed or hurried to make a decision and Jim carefully explained the pluses and minuses of any idea or design. He brought alternative designs, materials and planitngs so we always felt we were makign informed decisions.

This was the most enjoyable project we have done in the 15 years we've been working with many contractors. The West Oaks team, led by Jim, took on a tough project that had been made worse as a result of a previous contractor who up and left in the middle of a job (which left us with a huge mess). Jim and his team worked tirelessly to make our backyard into something that will stand the test of time in quality, design and features. Our yard needed serious help-West Oaks took on the challenge and truly delivered beyond our expectations. Project included: repairing and extending a retaining wall with wood timbers; leveling/balancing out of yard; digging and installing a "recessed" relaxation area complete with moving existing tall pine trees; creation of unique lawn area with irregular look to blend with natural setting; installing several tons of boulders and blue stone pathway steps; installing a privacy fence; installing large size maple tree; seeding; tree removal; more. West Oaks worked closely with us and our budget and ensured we were understanding the process every step of the way. They were on time, in budget, and always there when we had questions.

They were extremely professional and very good when they came to do the estimate. It was about $7,000 and they showed up right when said they would come. The gentleman was extremely pleasant and gave us a creative idea for the retaining wall we wanted.
