We hired Josh to remodel two bathrooms just before the pandemic shut everything down. Both bathrooms were completed about one year ago. We have not had any problems since job completion. Josh did a nice job for us. He started early and cleaned up the areas before he left each day. Josh gave us advice on things he thought would work better and incorporated our requests into the construction. He kept us informed daily on progress and next steps. Josh notified us whenever there were additional delays (supplies/transportation) with materials. He was present for all inspections and addressed any concerns without complaints. Although the job took longer than anticipated, it was entirely because of the pandemic fallout. We would hire Josh, JRB Renovations, again for any future projects.

It was tough finding a contractor because they are all so busy but once Josh was hired for the job, I couldn't have been more pleased. I needed the work done for a specific event at the house and even though we cut it close, the job was completed and the workmanship was awesome. Josh communicated with us constantly regarding what needed to be done and when and he anticipated with precision the scheduling of the sub-contractors and inspectors. I would and will hire JRB again.

Josh and his entire team at JRB remodeled our entire first floor and finished basement. Extremely happy with the results and the quality of work. Josh is extremely attentive to detail and it definitely shows. He takes the time to make sure everything is done correctly and looks finished. On top of that, Josh is very easy to reach when needed and communicates every step of the process. Our remodel finished in roughly 80 days. Josh and his team would have had it done sooner but we ran into some delays with our city. Not the fault of JRB at all and Josh was very open about the process. The scope of the project included removing two walls, complete remodel of our kitchen and living rooms, a powder room, laundry room, basement living area, basement office, basement coffee bar and basement bathroom. Included in all of that was new plumbing, electrical (including a panel re-wire) and HVAC ducting. Overall, I highly recommend Josh and JRB for any home project. The work is done professionally and correctly with minimal headache. The part I enjoyed the most is that Josh doesn't try to sugar coat anything. He is able to explain the project, work through any issues that come up and communicate effectively so I (someone who isn't very handy) understand. We definitely will hire Josh and JRB again for future projects on our home.

Josh remodeled our bathroom which along with the house was untouched for 60 years. The transformation was even more than we could have hoped for thanks to Josh"s craftsmanship and professionalism. We will use him again in the near future.

Excellent! Can’t say enough good things about JRB Renovations! They were timely, neat, courteous, always just a text/phone call away (anytime - day or night), always willing to talk through ideas/changes, and most importantly stayed on track with completion of the project and kept communication open with changes from the original quote. We initially reached out to JRB Renovations based on other online reviews and Josh's swiftness in replying. We ultimately hire JRB based on our initial design meeting, Josh's professionalism and apparent knowledge about what we were attempting to have done, and his competitive quote/pricing. Josh and team were easy to work with, always on time and communicative about any concerns, changes, or other remodeling thoughts as they came up. Our experience was unique due to the COVID-19 quarantine and shelter-in-place, but Josh continued to keep us informed about timing expectations and ensured we were comfortable with his team as they re-entered our home. Josh was on site most days and did the majority of the work himself with his assistant (other than contracted work like tile and stone counter top). The end results are great. The only thing we would do differently or next time is hire a residential design architect. This is not against JRB as Josh was very open to our design ideas and changes during the project, but having a clear blueprint and plan upfront would have helped.

Josh was very easy to work with. He was very patient and understanding when we had to delay the start date due to personal issues. He was always on time and was very good about cleaning the work area at the end of the day. The quality of his work was very high, and we are quite pleased with the results. When we ran into several design issues he was great about finding solutions. His price was competitive. We have recommended him to several other people and would definitely rehire him for another project.

Josh did excellent job installing 6 recessed lights in ceiling. He gave reasonable quote and started work immediatley, finished job in a day.

First let me say that I selected JRB on the basis of the reviews on this site and my up front meeting with Joshua. I wanted a contractor that would be onsite and was not looking for a high overhead shop with a fancy showroom and a long list of subs. I would select JRB again if I had another project. Joshua was professional from the start. I also felt very comfortable with his knowledge and working with him. He (his team) took great care to clean up every day and treat my house with the same respect he would want. Joshua was on site most days and did the majority of the work himself with his assistant (other than contracted work like tile and glass). The end results are great. The one thing I would do differently is the diligence that I should have taken in understanding allowances for certain suppliers. We made several material selections that increased the price without me knowing the impact at the time. To be clear I would have made the same selections anyway. Again that is on me to do differently next time. So I would have no concern with using JRB (Joshua) again and would highly recommend him.

We hired Josh to do a complete remodel of our bathroom and were beyond pleased with his level of knowledge, responsiveness and quality of work. When my husband and I had our initial consultation with Josh we knew he was the one we wanted for the job because we could tell that he was honest and knowledgeable about the work we needed done. With a home renovation comes a mess, but Josh made it a top priority to maintain the cleanliness of our home by putting plastic down from our front door to our master bath on our second level, putting a plastic curtain up between our bed and the entrance to the bathroom and vacuumed everyday before he left....amazing! We highly recommend Josh and will definitely be hiring him for future home renovations.

We called Josh the dream contractor. Josh is an excellent construction manager. He is extremely patient, honest, responds quickly and does good work. He definitely has integrity. He responded to my quote request the same day and was out to look at the job two days later. We had a quote in about two weeks. Josh stopped by to review the quote and work began three weeks later. Communication was excellent. Josh either told us what was happening the next day or texted the information. He has a great crew of subcontractors. They were all neat, polite, respectful of our home, cleaned up after themselves and did good work in a reasonable amount to time. Josh and the subs had great patience. They all offered suggestions and alternatives based on their experience when issues came up. The showed up when they said they would and did the work they were supposed to do. Josh was very clear when extras came up. There were no surprise costs at the end of the job. The work was completed on time. It took about four and a half weeks. We are very happy with our new bedroom and bathroom. It was finished on time. I would not hesitate to use JRB again. We already talked to Josh about the next job.

It was an excellent experience. Josh provided us an estimate for all we wanted done that was significantly lower than other contractors who could not meet all our demands. The work was done expertly. We are very satisfied with all his work. Would definitely hire him again.

It went extremely well. Josh was honest in every interaction with us. He followed his timetable faithfully. When we had to make a decision, Josh carefully explained our options. And offered his recommendations, which were necessarily the most expensive - sometimes even the cheapest. But he recommended what he thought would be best for us. Our bathroom was a source of irritation before. Now, after JRB, we completely love it. Highly recommended!

All work done by permits from City obtained by Josh the general contractor. This is our second project with Blaies and it was great to work with Josh and his team again (see feedback on condo remodel in 2015 on angies list). Kirk, his painter / drywall expert is fantastic at his craft. Josh is a hard worker and aims to please the customer. We did extensive planning for the remodel just before purchasing and before closing on the property. Josh was a big help, offering advice, several walk throughs, providing us his supplier list and engaging with the companies after we selected plumbing fixtures, cabinets, stone, etc. This was a sizable project and Josh was able to complete the job in 3 months. Josh is punctual, kept us informed, and worked with us on limited changes including costs when over the original estimate. Each change order was discussed and approved prior to executing. Josh's subs did a good job as well. All were professional, a few minor hick ups here and there but not unexpected; tile a bit slow on the desired time line due to main tile guy being out of town for an extended period, but other members of the tile guy's team got the job done and Josh monitored the work along the way and if there was an issue, josh was on top of it. If you are looking for a general contractor with the right subs, for a small or large project, we recommend Josh Blaies and JRB Renovations. In the end, you get what you pay for and we could not be more pleased with the work performed, the follow up and the attention to detail.

My experience working with JRB renovations was outstanding and i would absolutely hire them again and recommend them without hesitation! Throughout the entire project, Josh was great to work with. He is a very good communicator and does not talk over you or try to push you into decisions like some other contractors I've worked with in the past. After the initial quote, we decided to move forward and met with Josh's suppliers for cabinets, countertops, tile, etc. After picking everything out, Josh started the job a few weeks later. Josh would text each night telling me what time they would arrive the next day, and what work would be done. Josh and his team were very professional. They showed up promptly every morning and quietly left when they were done for the day, making sure that the bathroom and surrounding area was as neat and clean as possible every. I really appreciated this, because i knew i didn't need to worry about my 1.5 year old getting a hold of anything he shouldn't if he snuck his way in there. Josh and his team were also great with the kiddo! The work done by Josh and his team was fantastic! Josh is a perfectionist, and it comes through in his work. Wether he is doing the job himself, or a member of his team, all the work is held to a very high standard. Josh made sure to fix anything that i wasn't satisfied with, no matter how small it was. I've had some experiences in the past when i've trusted contractors to know what they're doing, only to end up with a shoddy result in the end. There is no concern with Josh, he has done over 250 bathrooms and there is absolutely no doubt that he knows what he is doing. Any question i had for Josh, he had an answer. There was never a reason for me to worry about anything, Josh had every detail covered. The final result was better than we could have hoped! We love our new bathroom and we are so happy that we chose JRB renovations. We will definitely be calling them again for any future renovations.

The whole process went as planned from start to finish. They were always prompt starting most days at 7am. Always contacted us with plans for next day. They provided quality workmanship in every area. All workers were skilled, courteous, and professional. I would recommend JRB Renovaions without hesitation for any home remodeling project. We hired JRB Renovations for a kitchen and bath remodel. Overall we were very happy with the outcome. Josh is incredibly responsive and available, much more so than other contractors. They were incredibly fast and always showed up on time. However, they were sometimes slow to send us paperwork for change orders and our initial project quotes (though, the work was completed on time).

Installer very professional with high quality work. Backsplash looks amazing. Would definitely hire again for more home renovations.
