My experience was average. I went into the store and picked out the window treatments that I wanted. They had them shipped to my house and had a service guy come out. He put up the majority of them the first time and then came back a second time. Some of the negatives are, they ordered some of the wrong items, and they were on back order. It took longer than normal and when we got them, they were not the correct ones. The customer service at the Walnut store, they were a little feisty. The installer himself was OK, good, and he seemed to be knowledgeable. He had to come out a second time, so that was a bit of an inconvenience. He was here maybe three and a half hours. It was just one installer. He was friendly and professional.
Description of Work: Lowe's sold me the blinds and installed my window treatments. It was Roman shades and blinds.

Lowe's installer was PFI. The vinyl installer and his trainee were excellent. The two carpet installers were top-notch. Both teams of installers made suggestions that enhanced the flooring appearance.

I contacted Lowe's and told them we were not happy with the subcontractor. I liked Lowe's, the salesman was very good and the price itself was good. I told them specifically that we would not use them again if they used Monroe. They were not punctual. They were late by over half a day and they had no apology for that. They installed the carpet but they did not have the correct cut so they had to make an extra seam in the carpet even though Lowe's came out and measured. They did no clean up. They were very unprofessional. Lowe's employees were good, so I can't fault them for that. They were good across the board and kept in contact with us throughout the process.

The rental we are currently in has a very tight laundry area. They had to go around to a side door, remove the door and the old dryer. They had to install a new metal vent for it and then installed the new dryer. They were very frendly and their work was excellant. They left no messes for me to clean up and I love that.

We hired Lowes in the beginning of April. Their estimate was not the lowest bid, but it was competitive and they brought up several important points without being asked. These included: pulling the proper permits, installer insurance and workers comp. However people involved were consistently late for appointments and were very poor at communicating with us. The initial contact went well. I filled out the request for an estimate on their website and was called back the same day. Their salesperson was at our house to take photos and measurements several days later. This was the only time anyone involved in this process was on time for an appointment. We discussed several convenient days and times, but in the end the salesman made an appointment to come back the following Monday at 5:00. He did not show. We called the store when he was 30 minutes late and was informed that the appointment was for Tuesday. When he arrived the next day he apologized, making the excuse that they had changed calendar software and he had entered the date incorrectly. Despite this, we hired Lowes. About a week later the installers called to schedule the installation. We scheduled the installation for Thursday April 18 with a start time between 8:00 and 9:00 AM. Supplies were delivered the two days before. I took the day off from work to be home when they started. They did not arrive at the specified time. I had to call the store at 10:30 and was only then informed that they were late because they had to finish the prior day's job (not completed due to weather). But, they promised to be on site after lunch. They called again after noon to inform me that installation would be the next day. On Friday they were again late. They did cal but not until about 9:30. At this time they informed us that they would start on Saturday (again the due to the prior job running long because of weather). The installation finally started on April 20. The crew was quick and professional. They mostly cleaned up after themselves. Though they did leave behind two large cardboard boxes that supplies came in, that I had to dispose of myself. Unfortunately they installed the wrong color trim. We informed Lowes and they promised to fix it at no cost. They called twice the next week to confirm that the job was completed. With each call we had to remind them that we needed the error corrected. It was very much like a and quot;left hand doesn't know what the right is doingand quot; situation. They finally promised to fix it the week of April 28. NOBODY called again about the issue. I had to call the store again on May 5 to ask again about when the error would be corrected. When I called, I was transferred between three different departments. Ultimately I was transferred back to the first person I spoke with. She was unable to answer my questions and promised to call me back later that day. She did not. We were called the next day by the installers who promised to come out on the afternoon of Saturday May 11. They did not come out that day, and did not call to explain why. Ultimately, they arrived at 9:00 AM on Sunday May 12 to correct the trim. Overall, the actual installation was quality work. But no-one who was supposed to come to our house kept a first appointment time. I understand that April 2013 was very rainy and that weather impacts construction schedules. But, the installers did not call when schedule was impacted. I nearly always had to call first. And the company was not proactive in scheduling the repair of the error. It was not scheduled until after a week after the initially promised date, and then only because I called them. The professionalism shown was not what I would consider acceptable.

I had selected a basic model refrigerator and dishwasher on the Lowe's website, read all the details, and made what should have been a quick trip to the store on my lunch hour to view the models and purchase. The woman who helped me seemed to be in a hurry and admitted she could not see very well because she kept entering the wrong model into the computer. When ringing up the sale, I asked her to confirm that she had input the correct model/color. She told me she had but that I would need to confirm the color with the cashier when I paid for the purchase up front. The cashier said she could not see the color until after I paid and the receipt printed. It was the wrong color but she said I would have to go back to Appliances to get it corrected. I was not going back to the woman who was in too big of a hurry to correct her mistake, so I went to Customer Service. I was told they could not correct it for me until I told them I was not going back to Appliances and they could refund my purchase. They took care of it, but it took a while to accomplish and I missed a meeting at work, so it was a very unpleasant experience. Lowe's did not have the dishwasher I selected in stock and upgraded me at no additional cost. I was very pleased with the delivery/installation. The dishwasher is extraordinarily quiet; however, the cleaning and rinsing functions are less than desirable. I was also pleased with the delivery/installation of the refrigerator (a different company on a different day than the dishwasher). After a couple weeks the refrigerator and freezer began emitting a chemical odor, which progressively got worse. The refrigerator was noisy from the outset, which was disappointing. This was not called out on-line, nor by the sales rep; however, an insert was included with the delivery that explained why this refrigerator is loud when running. The noise also progressively worsened. I called Lowe's and scheduled a workday service date. I took off work but no one showed up. It turned out that the appliance repair company does not service my area. They notified Lowe's, who made no attempt to notify me or reschedule with another company. I scheduled another appointment for a Saturday and the service tech explained that I would need to put coffee bags in the refrigerator and freezer to help absorb the odor (sounds like a good tip but I haven't tried it yet). He also said he could not significantly impact the noise but was able to soften it somewhat. The noise is still so loud that I cannot tolerate being in the kitchen when the refrigerator is running - very disappointing as I would not have purchased this model if this information had been provided either on the web or by the sales rep.

After it was installed I noticed that the internal blinds were not the blinds I bought and paid for. There was no correcting this, so Lowes gave a small refund. I painted the steel door and life went on. Fast forward close to five years later and I notice the door frame is rotting from the bottom up. I contacted Lowe's by phone, internet and several times inside the store. I contacted Jeld Wen as well. Lowes blamed me for not painting (I painted and performed all routine maintenance). I took and sent pictures to Jeld Wen and they sent out a representative. The rep. agreed to give me a free door, but no installation. This is an 8 foot wide unit that weighs over 300 pounds. Not a do-it-yourself install. I went to Lowes- and after speaking with several people in the store and higher level....would not give me a free or even discounted installation. I ended up paying another 700 for the installation, plus I got the wooden door frame wrapped in aluminum. The Lowes installer came to my home and as he was taking out the damaged door, proceded to point out all of the errors that were made during the initial install. I called Lowes after and got more run around and no accountability. The door is in and beautiful now, but the second install charge was BS. I am very disappointed that Lowe's did not cover the errors of their installer. Every Lowe's Manager acted as though the money for the second installation was going to come out of their own pocket if I did not pay it.

I have more than a little experience with roofing projects, so my demands and expectations were high to start with. When the contractor's supervisor came to review the job, I was amazed to be shown the scale drawing of the garage and house roof, along with photos of the two areas that were in worst shape. My interactions with the supervisor and contractor in general were beyond my expectations in terms of professionalism, timeliness and responsiveness. They were not actually on site all that long, but while they were here, the entire crew acted with complete professionalism. They were friendly and respectful. I wouldn't hesitate to have them do another project for me.
Description of Work: . Prior to job, examined roof of house and garage and prepared photos and scale drawing of the entire roof, highlighting any problem areas. . Removed old shingles . Repaired or replaced underlayment where necessary . Vented bathroom fan through the roof instead of into the attic . Removed and reinstalled the gutters . Installed new energy efficient shingles (that I had selected) . complete cleanup of all debris, excess materials, nails, etc. . disposal of the above . removed old attic vents and installed new ones . got the building permit (not a given in THIS town!).

Superbly. Both the Lowe's sales person (Larry Stevens) and the roofing contractor were impressive in their professionalism, attention to detail, behavior on installation day, craftsmanship, and the most amazing cleanup. I thought they were raking the grass and learned they were "raking" with a huge magnet to pick up nails. Before the job, the contractor (Roofing Systems Inc) made a to-scale drawing of both roofs, showed me pictures of a couple of problem areas, and overall I was impressed with their professionalism. Now, I don't impress easily because I recently was Board Treasurer of a large housing cooperative and went through the process of engineering studies, bids, bid meetings with contractors and shingle manufacturers for a $2.8 million roofing project. I also did my research prior to signing a contract with Lowe's. I have no regrets whatsoever re price or any other aspect of this project.

I was very pleased with the sales help at the Lowe's in Westland. I needed a GE Space-maker to fit in the space of the old one in my condo. I was assured it would fit and it did! The installers were prompt, friendly, careful and made sure the appliance worked before they left. They also took the old microwave with them saving me from having to dispose of it.
