Independent Carpet One Floor & Home

Installation was fine. Within 4 months carpet has stains all over. The 3M Everguard guarantee is a waste of money. Everguard people had me pay to have carpet professionally cleaned then wouldn’t accept my claim. Independent One sent an “independent” inspector, who, of course, reported this is my fault. So I’m now stuck with this $4000 purchase. This business does not stand behind what they sell. I would never recommend them. I’d give them a 0 if possible.

Installation went fine. Installers were very good and polite. Also the Saleswoman Tamika was very helpful with explaining the different carpets and flooring for the entryways. It made my decision easier. There was also the need for a small repair to the installation. Tamika made sure it got done promptly. I would recommend Independent Carpet One.

Wonderful Service, my rep was Jeane Salter and she was so patient and helpful. Her expertise was so valuable as I made my decisions. Installation was a breeze with the team of Doug and Jason. They worked so efficiently. It was amazing. I would definitely recommend Independent Carpet One to all my friends.

Cameron Mitchell was a great help in the selection process. Had to replace the new carpet after discovering a flaw. I am awaiting the replacement. Expect all to go well.

They were considerate and professional, they did a great job. Plus, Bob at the showroom was very helpful.

Both installations went very smoothly!! Guys were professional and efficient. We had one corner we wanted to have fixed b/c the gap between the floor and the wall was too large for our trim to cover - the guys fixed it before they left and didn't complain at all (at least not to us anyways!) Overall our experience with Independent Carpet One was terrific! I have already referred a co-worker to them, and he is very happy with their services also.

We did not use them but we went to their showroom. ?They were very expensive. ?The showroom was great. ?They had a lot of variety. Professionalism was good. ?But we just went and we saw that it was beyond our budget. So we did not use them at all. ?We were just looking around first to see if there was a carpet that we liked in our budget. ?They gave us an approximate quote but that was way beyond our budget. ?There was nothing wrong. ?It was a great shop. It had a lot of variety. Everything was A but it was beyond our but it was beyond our budget so we did not use them. ?I think everything was good apart from the price.

Sales person more knowledgeable than our dealings with Home Depot. Installers were professional and completed the job in one day. Materials and labor seem of high quality. Not the cheapest option but feel like the quality was worth it.

They had to come back to finish. It took a lot longer than they said it was going to take. They did a follow-up. There was one person to finish the job. It was 18 feet by 10 feet. They did a nice job of cleaning the area.

Very professional service from start to finish. I told sales representative Jeane Salter what I was looking at and the price range. She brought samples and helped us select colors, leaving the final decision to me. On installation day, Joe and his associate arrived on time and did splendid work in less than four hours, removing carpeting, carpeting a large half-basement and stairs and repairing a squeaky floored bedroom. Jeane told me Independent Carpet One Westland is family owned and that the company nurtures relationships with good carpet professionals/installers. Our experience verified this. I recently engaged Independent Carpet One to perform services for me. I had a regrettable experience and posted on this site previously a number of comments about the firm and its owner, which I now regret. As part of the resolution of our differences, I have agreed to post this retraction. I now consider the matter closed

Jason the sales rep, seemed responsive initially but, then never called to follow up; There was apparently some internal miscommunication between Shane and Jason, ted the installed worked by himself and did an excellent job except the stairway landing had to be reworked and, I had to call the owners son (Bob) to get it done. It has been 6 weeks since the work was completed and, I had to received no follow up call about the job. From Bob.

Excellent experience! We began shopping for carpet a couple months ago. Some shops had one employee and a small or no showroom. Some were just a name of a carpet layer. When we got to Independent Carpet One Floor & Home we found a large showroom and someone greeted us immediately. Jason came out and we discussed our plans. He was very good about explaining the carpet & pad differences and how to tell better carpet from lesser quality. We chose Lee carpet with the color and design we liked. Lee had a fantastic warranty. He gave us a quote and let us take some samples. After thinking it over we decided to scale down the price a little and thought we'd have to give up the brand and excellent warranty that it offered. Jason was instrumental in helping keep the brand and just choosing a different pattern. That with the current sale price made it all happen. Fast forward to installation day. The installers were there most of the day and they did a fantastic job. They explained what they were going to do and how to overcome some transition issues. They cleaned up before leaving and it looks great. I have to say the professionalism, quality products, and superb staff would definitely make us come back without even shopping around. Well done!

It went wonderfully. They came on time and completed the job. They replaced the furniture and did everything they said they would do.

From the first visit to the showroom, through the selection, to the installation the experience was beyond expectation. Cleaner, our pairsperson was most helpful; they were patient, professional and extremely timely in the entire process. Great installers & helpers, John, Joan, Allen, & Phillip.

First, we got several estimates from companies . Our selection was based not only on price but how the company presented itself, and the products offered. That being said, our overall sales experience with Independent Carpet One of Westland was excellent, and met the criteria we were looking for when we contracted them. Cameron was very helpful in finding what we wanted. and assembled a sample portfolio for us to take home for as long as we needed. Excellent customer care with absolutely NO pressure. The estimate we received was fair, and Cameron explained everything in detail. The formal quote after measurements was pretty close to his original estimate. Well done in my opinion, and after careful consideration of all, the job was awarded to Independent Carpet One. I would also like to add that the showroom appearance, support staff, (Barbara) were very courteous, friendly, and professional. Our phone calls during this process went very well. We were pleased. We placed our order, and installation dates were set up. We received phones calls to update when our materials arrived, and confirmation calls the week before, and day of installation. Mark and Zach installed our kitchen vinyl. The experience, and quality of work was outstanding. Mark discussed what he was going to do, and consulted with us as needed. Both installers were courteous, highly conscientious in the performance of their job, and they cared. We are extremely pleased with the result. John, Jack, and I believe Andy (sorry if I got it wrong) installed the new carpet in our bedrooms. Again, the experience, and quality of work was outstanding. From furniture removal, ripping up the old carpet and pad, to installation of the new carpet, and placing the furniture back into the rooms, the work done was exemplary. This crew was efficient, experienced, knowledgeable, and consulted with us on all aspects of the job. We are extremely pleased with the result once again. In closing, it takes a team from sales, customer service, and installation for it to all work. Independent Carpet One proved that to us, and then some. Well done.

LOTS of styles to choose from and very competitive pricing. Installers were friendly and informative. Would definitely be using them for future carpet purchases.

Worked with Bob Francavilla who was very knowledgeable and entertaining. Installers Dan & John were excellent and did a fantastic job. I love the carpet and it certainly brightened up the room. Bob helped me pick out the color and quality I needed without breaking my budget. My mom had always dealt with Bob and held him in high esteem, that is why I drove all the way to Wayne to get my carpet. They were very competitive with the other quotes I had received in Southgate.

Entire process was seamless and efficient. Salesperson, Bob, was knowledgable, helpful, and treated me like the customer of the day. Installers were great; efficient, professional & courteous. The team of 4 went to work right on schedule - got rid of the old stuff, installed the new and explained everything along the way . Then they cleaned up and hauled away the old carpet & pad. We highly recommend Independent One on Wayne Road. They are truly a family business that treats customers like family.

The installer left job 1/2 done to go to another job. His name was Jeff. My flooring took 5 days to finish. I was exceptionally unhappy with the installer and his work ethic/choices. The grades for Punctuality and Professionalism are for the installer.

Met with Jason McKeehan to discuss the purchase of carpeting for our master bedroom. Jason was very knowledgable and helpful in providing us with carpet options that would fit our needs. There was no selling pressure applied. We had met with another carpet provider and had a positive experience, but we felt Jason was truly a professional in his field and helped us so much with the information we needed to make our decision that we decided to use Independent Carpet One, even though their quote was a bit higher in price. The installers were Paul and Ted. The installers were very conscience and professional. The carpeting looks wonderful. We did look at reviews on Angie's List prior to visiting the business sites and took note of the large number of positive reviews for Independent Carpet One.

Jeane was very friendly and helpful with the selection of the carpet. The carpet arrived at the store at the expected time, and John and his sons did a great job with the installation. This was their first appointment of the day and they arrived right at the time given. They were very pleasant and efficient.

They were very professional. Did a great installation and clean up.

We delivered the wood stain of our choice in time for the moldings to be ready for installation. The crew came out to do the floor without the moldings as there was some miscommunication between the installers and the sales staff. They installed the flooring and did a great job. Upon reinstalling the toilet the seal between the tank and base was leaking. They ended up replacing the seal and bolts to solve that problem. They went back to stain and clear coat the moldings for installations the next day. They returned to find the moldings quoted by the sales people were to short to cover the adhesive left by the old vinyl cove moldings. They went back to get taller moldings and came back in a couple of days to finish the job. Overall the work was excellent and the installers were very professional.
