They did an amazing job! The crew was awesome! Every single person we dealt with was professional. Our basement wall looks wonderful. They did an incredible job on the brick work. The team even cleaned up after themselves. We would use them again! We highly recommend Home Specs! What a great company!!!

The installation went well. They were respectful and up front with what they were doing. There was no hidden fees or anything. The installation only took a day to do. The two gentlemen stopped what they were doing to talk to me and explain the procedure. Great workers and company. After the installation was done, Mark called me up to check on everything and to inform me if I needed any more info to contact him. I will definitely use them again.

Roger and his crew were very polite and efficient. Roger knows his work well and did a nice job of explaining concerns and options. They worked from 9am until 3;30 pm with no break. The work was done well and the area is spotless. Both the salesman and Roger and his crew are very competent and I would highly recommend this company to anyone in need of help with waterproofing and foundation work. I wish I had known of them when I had the waterproofing done earlier.

I had several different companies discuss the work and provide quotes on the job. Dan from Homespec was the last. He was able to describe the process and answer all specific questions I had about the installation. Even though another company proposed the same solution for $1000 less, I felt more comfortable understanding exactly how Homespec was planning to proceed. It took a crew of four about 6 hours to complete the work. They were all awesome. Before getting started we talked in detail about what was going to happen and they answered all of my questions. They were all super friendly and would continue to explain what was going on when I wandered down to take pictures of the progress. It's been a month since install and the finished product was exactly as promised without issues.

Got a quote from Scott Ballard. I also received competing quotes from other service providers. Home Spec was the highest bid (although all of the bids were close in price). I chose to go with HomeSpec based upon reviews from Angie's List and other online resources. My home is small so the job only took two days to complete. The crew that did the job was lead by Ryan Loop and his crew did an excellent job! They filled three cracks in the foundation walls, and installed a new perimeter drainage system using PVC drain pipe and a sump pump. Prior to the install I had some questions that were answered to my satisfaction by Scott. While the work was being done Ryan answered some more questions I had about the sump pump system as I have never lived in a home that has had a sump pump. I am very pleased with the finished work. When Ryan's crew put in new cement in the basement where the floor had been removed, they did an excellent job in finishing the cement to a level and smooth surface.

The job was recently done so will see if well done over time. The appointment arrangement and job site workers were good.

They were very prompt and professional and worked with me on the price as well as how much work I really needed to get done. They didn't oversell or overcharge me. Plus, the sales guy and the actual repair guys were very professional and respectful.

HomeSpec did a fantastic job!! The initial visit was to assess and quote the cost. Everything was explained in excellent detail, and a quotation was provided. Basically the basement floor was removed around the entire periphery of the basement using a jack hammer. They removed the concrete floor coming out about one foot from the wall. Then a trench was dug down about eight inches from the top of the foundation, or below the bottom of the concrete floor. The new drain pipe was installed with pea gravel stones around the entire basement foundation to my sump pump. The original drain pipes were left in and continue to drain. The new drain pipe is basically sitting just above it and enters my sump pit. A large section of my basement is finished, and they were able to do this work without a major tear up (depending on your perspective). Basically they removed about 18 inches of dry wall, removed the base plate, with the wall hanging freely from the upper floor joist. They were able to do all the work I described above leaving the wall hanging. After they finished, they reinstalled a new base plate, drywall, and filled in all the joints with joint compound. All I have to do is prime and paint it. A couple final notes. They added about 5 flush out points around the entire system. This allows me to 1) see inside the pipe and the water level, 2) easily snake out the drain pipe if needed, and/or flush it out with a hose. This is a really valuable feature. The workers were great... these guys worked there tails off. The main work consisted of a Team Leader, with a crew of 3 - 4 guys. Communication was very good.. I always knew what was going on. They arrived between 8:00 - 9:00 AM everyday, and worked until 7:00 PM... one night until 10:00PM. Adding the new drain system itself took 3 days, and another 2 days to do the finished area with dry wall. This could have been done in one day, but the joint compound needed to dry... so they're limited. I am so please with the job this company has done, and it's a lifetime warranty that's transferable if you sell the house. Based on what I see, I'm very confident the problem is fixed. We just had some heavy rain over the weekend, and not a drop of water anywhere. For anyone experiencing the water seepage I described above, you can feel confident with HomeSpec to do a quality job, and fix the problem. One last note... this is a messy job. They do take every precaution to limit the dust and dirt by laying down plastic on the stairway, walkways, and covering everything in the basement, but you need to realize dust is going to be in the air. But, the job has to get done if you have this problem, and I was very pleased with all the prep work they did to limit the dust.

One of the most professional people I have ever met. Very honest and attentive to his customers and actually reviewed the work throught the process to make sure it was completed as quoted. Work Crew was unbelievable. They were polite, completed the work on time, and cleaned up after themselves. The entire Crew took great pride in delivering a quality job, on time, and with great customer service. I would and have recommended them to others!

If you’re looking for the short version of the review here it is – they were professional, courteous, efficient, and effective in their follow-up and communication. They did great work for a great price and I highly recommend them if you need basement waterproofing work done. If you’re looking for the detailed version of the review see below: We had recently purchased a home and two months in (after the first heavy rains/snowfall of winter) we noticed a heavy leak in our basement as well as water pooling in an old sump pump well (that we had been assured was old and didn't need a sump pump since there was one already installed on the other side of the basement). After calling a few different vendors to come and take a look to diagnose the issue, we finally called HomeSpec after finding them on Angie's List. I initially contacted them after-hours, but was still able to "talk" to someone via their chat feature on their website. Once the individual on the other end of the chat got some basic information from me, I was told someone would contact me first thing the next morning to schedule an appointment. Sure enough, before 8 am the next morning, I received a call back from Ingrid (who also apparently was the one monitoring the chat feature after hours – give that woman a raise!) That's basically the type of service received from the first initial call to the last and final follow-up call from the company. Everyone I spoke to was kind, professional, and expedient in all responses to me. Dan came to the house to do the initial inspection and draw up a proposal for work. He worked with us to identify possible solutions and worked out different financing options so we could choose the one that best fit our situation (also a bonus with working with this company - they offer financing plans through EnerBank USA). Our sump pump was installed separately from the waterproofing work because it was something we needed done immediately whereas the outside waterproofing had to wait for certain weather conditions to be met. HomeSpec made sure to expedite the installation of the sump pump for us and the team that handled that installation was great to work with. Ryan Loop and his team (Chris and Cody) did the actual work to waterproof the outside of the house and were also extremely professional, courteous, and thorough. They even stayed till 7 pm on the 2nd day of the job to complete it! All in all, this company does great work and if my basement needs additional work done, they’ll be my first call!

They were punctual and the work went exactly as described. As the work was being done, they showed me the different steps and were polite and even careful with my cats. It was a messy job, due to jack hammering and removing the concrete and then having to pour rock in the trench. My only complaint would be the amount of dust that was left. They cleaned up pretty well, but my floors were still muddy. I'm not sure that given how fast they were to get in and out, that that really bothers me though.

HomeSpec was spectacular. Within 24 hours of contacting HomeSpec via email, Brian Snyder inspected the problem and submitted a bid. It required minimal disruption to my home and was one-half of my expected cost. Eight days after the email, Chuck Watson and his team of four spent 11 hours installing drain tiles under one side of the basement floor, a new sump pump, a French drain and dry well. It was 28 degrees outdoors, the ground was frozen, and they ran into lots of roots. Then they cleaned up, and Chuck explained the new installations. John Lont came back after the weekend to move my basement laundry back in place and shovel dirt off the front walk. (They had tunneled under it.) He even found a washer hose that needed replacement. They were professional, kind, and treated me with respect.

Company was the best price. The workers were on time, courteous, cleaned up after every visit. Took away all the junk and mess in crawl space and disposed of it. Great job.

The injected polyurethane failed to seal the crack. There was water breakthrough following each of the attempts to re-inject the wall. When I called Homespec and asked for an alternative plan, they offered to dig down to the drainage tiles on the exterior of the house and waterproofed the crack from the exterior. They offered it to me for free to honor their guarantee. They did a great job and they stand behind their work!

Home Spec (HS) may be the very best company that I've ever had do a large construction project on any of the homes i've owned over 40 years. Every HS employee -- from main office to installers at the work sites -- understands and practices quality customer service. Being polite, businesslike , and responsive was practiced by all with whom I had contact. After interviewing 6 waterproofing companies, I found HS provided the best solution for my somewhat - difficult situation and they did the best in providing me with the answers I needed. Their price was competitive and better than most of the others. All of the employees, including the General Manager, were responsive to my questions and ensured that I got whatever I needed promptly. Just great service throughout . The work crew was a good bunch of guys....and they worked hard each of the days they were here: Except for < 30 mins of lunch, they were focused on doing the job and doing it right. Their clean up afterward was thorough and they put back everything detached/moved exactly as it was before they started. They're well organized and everyone gets done what they're assigned. So I'm very satisfied with HS and the quality of their work and employees. I would strongly urge anyone needing basement waterproofing to ask them for a review of their situation.

I got estimates from 7 companies for exterior waterproofing. The range was from $11,000 - $17,000. HomeSpec gave me an estimate of $45,000.00. This included $4,000 to remove the concrete that was not going to be replaced.
