Ryan, Brevin, and Jacob installed a generator at my house today. They were extremely professional, extremely nice and very knowledgeable. I asked a lot of questions ( and felt like I was annoying them lol) and Ryan took the tie to answer all of them with kindness. They looked like there were having fun doing it too lol. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend oak electric to anyone!!!!!!!!

Solar Panel Service
Service has been very poor. I have been trying to get my solar panels in working order since the end of July 2023 and it is now October. Communication and follow-up are non-existent. I was told that a supervisor would contact me and that never happened. I have not paid the bill because the solar panel system is still not working properly.

"By now, you realize your system was operational when you wrote this review and is fully operational today. We understand that a red error light (which seems to have been a defective inverter) made you believe that your system wasn't working, but it indeed was working. Our technician has since explained that to you. We are waiting for a part, but the vendor has yet to provide an ETA (we followed up). We are very sorry for the delay and for not updating you timely. Please know that we recently hired someone internally to help with solar communication. Again, we greatly apologize."

Steven our technician exceeded expectations when he checked out our A/C unit. Besides the normal service call, he advised us regarding the cold air output and general condition of the unit as it is old. Asked about the condition of the A frame cooler, he opened the furnace compartment holding that component visually inspected it with me and applied a cleaning agent to the coils. He explained the invoice and advised me of payment options. Very pleasant and informative throughout the entire process. The service preformed keeps me with Oak.

I had some complaints which I listed in my previous review. They refunded the $189 fee that I had disputed. But I must add this in their favor--last night DTE's power went out, and the whole-house battery kicked in flawlessly. Despite the bumps with the install and air conditioner repair person, when I needed the system to work, it worked flawlessly. Original Review: I am posting this review to warn people against contracting with Oak Electric of Waterford, MI. Monday 6/1 I turned on my central air for the first time and found that the condenser would not turn on, so I phoned Oak Electric. I called Oak Electric because in January I had hired them to install some solar panels on my roof. They botched the installation (this will likely be the subject of a second complaint next week; they still have not fixed the botched solar installation), and I suspected that they made a wiring mistake that broke my ac condenser. I was wrong in this specific suspicion, but correct to feel suspicious about Oak Electric's competence. Oak Electric sent a repair person. The repair person told me that the fault was a defective control panel. The repair person said that since the brand was Nordyne, it was not worth his time to find the part, but he wished me luck and charged me $189. After several hours of searching I found the part, and phoned a local air conditioning repair company to ask them to purchase the part and install it (I could not purchase the part myself because the seller, RH Townsend of Warren, MI, will only sell to licensed mechanical contractors). Thankfully, the other representative was competent. Instead of purchasing the part he instead came to my house to look at the condenser. First he tested the control panel and told me that it was working correctly. He then tested the unit for freon and found it was almost empty; the control panel was not allowing the device to turn on because the freon was low. In other words, the information I received from the Oak Electric technician was false. The control panel was not broken; to the contrary, it was working as designed. The representative stated flatly that any competent ac technician sent to diagnose a non-working condenser would check the freon level, and that failing to check the freon level and charging $189 for the visit was ridiculous. The Oak Electric technician was incompetent and in no way deserving of his $189 payment. I asked Oak Electric to refund my $189, and they have not replied. I would like Oak Electric to refund the $189 I paid for their useless, worthless, incompetent anti-service. I'm not holding my breath.

Horrible service. Twice they scheduled me for a generator interlock kit installation and twice they failed to show up. Both times I had to rearrange my schedule for them and clear out my storage room for them. They offered no reason for the delays, and even lied about contacting me regarding the date changes.

The crew showed up on time and had the work done in 2 hours (they figured almost 4 hours). New furnace works great. They cleaned up after themselves. I would hesitate to hire these guys again.

Brian Parks, the Oak Electric sales person made all sorts of promises and commitments to assist with the installation of my generator. Once he made the sale he reneged on all commitments and services. The office staff blamed DTE for delays on the gas service upgrade which DTE denied. In fact the DTE rep said that Oak always blames them for delays. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

"After reviewing the notes on your account, I do see a delay with your gas meter - please keep in mind that we do provide the gas meter upgrade request service to our customers free of charge and during that time we were doing our best to keep up with the volume, short-staffed and post- hundreds of thousands without power. We apologize for the delay but at that time we were letting our customers know that if they would like to request the gas meter upgrade themselves (as other contractors have their customers do) it may expedite the process (we felt terrible that we could not get to them as timely as normal). In addition, our Sales staff (in general) does not represent at HOA and assist with variances in the way you requested. We also had to update the site plan with the city as the original location was not approved, which took a little time as well. We understand that you would like to cancel and a refund check for your deposit was put in the mail to you yesterday (3/24/22)."

Could not have been better. Brandon, Andrew and Jordan are top notch. They laid down cloth to keep the floors clean, efficiently put in a new furnace, showed me how it worked and how to maintain the humidifier and then left the area cleaner than what it was.

We had to have mini split systems installed because the layout of our home wouldn’t be ideal for central air. Oak came in with a very professional estimator, up front pricing and financing, and always answered our calls. On the 2 days of install they arrived on time, with a full crew of two truck fully stocked with all of the supplies and equipment needed. They were coordinated, polite, ready, and the most organized operation I have ever seen.
