Service has been very poor. I have been trying to get my solar panels in working order since the end of July 2023 and it is now October. Communication and follow-up are non-existent. I was told that a supervisor would contact me and that never happened. I have not paid the bill because the solar panel system is still not working properly.

We contracted Oak Electric to install a Generac Generator. They were fantastic. They answered all my questions in a way I could understand and were very friendly and professional Brandon and Jordan were very respectful and helpful.

Steven our technician exceeded expectations when he checked out our A/C unit. Besides the normal service call, he advised us regarding the cold air output and general condition of the unit as it is old. Asked about the condition of the A frame cooler, he opened the furnace compartment holding that component visually inspected it with me and applied a cleaning agent to the coils. He explained the invoice and advised me of payment options. Very pleasant and informative throughout the entire process. The service preformed keeps me with Oak.

I had some complaints which I listed in my previous review. They refunded the $189 fee that I had disputed. But I must add this in their favor--last night DTE's power went out, and the whole-house battery kicked in flawlessly. Despite the bumps with the install and air conditioner repair person, when I needed the system to work, it worked flawlessly. Original Review: I am posting this review to warn people against contracting with Oak Electric of Waterford, MI. Monday 6/1 I turned on my central air for the first time and found that the condenser would not turn on, so I phoned Oak Electric. I called Oak Electric because in January I had hired them to install some solar panels on my roof. They botched the installation (this will likely be the subject of a second complaint next week; they still have not fixed the botched solar installation), and I suspected that they made a wiring mistake that broke my ac condenser. I was wrong in this specific suspicion, but correct to feel suspicious about Oak Electric's competence. Oak Electric sent a repair person. The repair person told me that the fault was a defective control panel. The repair person said that since the brand was Nordyne, it was not worth his time to find the part, but he wished me luck and charged me $189. After several hours of searching I found the part, and phoned a local air conditioning repair company to ask them to purchase the part and install it (I could not purchase the part myself because the seller, RH Townsend of Warren, MI, will only sell to licensed mechanical contractors). Thankfully, the other representative was competent. Instead of purchasing the part he instead came to my house to look at the condenser. First he tested the control panel and told me that it was working correctly. He then tested the unit for freon and found it was almost empty; the control panel was not allowing the device to turn on because the freon was low. In other words, the information I received from the Oak Electric technician was false. The control panel was not broken; to the contrary, it was working as designed. The representative stated flatly that any competent ac technician sent to diagnose a non-working condenser would check the freon level, and that failing to check the freon level and charging $189 for the visit was ridiculous. The Oak Electric technician was incompetent and in no way deserving of his $189 payment. I asked Oak Electric to refund my $189, and they have not replied. I would like Oak Electric to refund the $189 I paid for their useless, worthless, incompetent anti-service. I'm not holding my breath.

All went well, from quoting to installation.

Oak Electric has always been professional, courteous, competitive with prices and timely. The professionals they employ explain everything. After the job was done the cleanup was top notch. Oak Electric is my first choice for any type of work they handle.

Horrible service. Twice they scheduled me for a generator interlock kit installation and twice they failed to show up. Both times I had to rearrange my schedule for them and clear out my storage room for them. They offered no reason for the delays, and even lied about contacting me regarding the date changes.

The crew showed up on time and had the work done in 2 hours (they figured almost 4 hours). New furnace works great. They cleaned up after themselves. I would hesitate to hire these guys again.

Brian Parks, the Oak Electric sales person made all sorts of promises and commitments to assist with the installation of my generator. Once he made the sale he reneged on all commitments and services. The office staff blamed DTE for delays on the gas service upgrade which DTE denied. In fact the DTE rep said that Oak always blames them for delays. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Could not have been better. Brandon, Andrew and Jordan are top notch. They laid down cloth to keep the floors clean, efficiently put in a new furnace, showed me how it worked and how to maintain the humidifier and then left the area cleaner than what it was.

We had to have mini split systems installed because the layout of our home wouldn’t be ideal for central air. Oak came in with a very professional estimator, up front pricing and financing, and always answered our calls. On the 2 days of install they arrived on time, with a full crew of two truck fully stocked with all of the supplies and equipment needed. They were coordinated, polite, ready, and the most organized operation I have ever seen.

Great! The Oak Electric team was very polite, friendly, and professional. They arrived with the necessary equipment to install the generator, as well they came with Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), in which throughout the installation they respected our home as they travelled inside and outside by using appropriate PPE and footwear where necessary. The electrician and gas specialist were very efficient and explained what they were doing and when done, they were so patient in explaining how to use, be aware of, and protect your generator. We had a great experience with the entire team, and I highly recommend this company!

They were able to come the day they got my call! It was really surprising, because other places were like a week out with the start of the summer. The young guy that came in was professional, thorough, and explained exactly what happened. The air was back on within the hour that he came. I definitely recommend and hope that young guy gets a bonus!

Oak contracted to for gas and electric service to my new swimming pool. The organization communicates poorly internally and externally. After the initial visit they didn’t return to finish. I had to call the agent who required me to call the office to schedule. This created further delay for the appointment. This foolishness repeated 3 more times and a project that should have finished in January remains incomplete. The lack of performance and punctuality does not extend to the collection department. They made offensive demands for payment early and often. The work crews and agent are incapable of reporting the unfinished job status. Worst of all, Oak insisted that the job I requested, to supply utilities to the pool, did not include connecting power to the equipment, only to bring power to the circuit panel. They ignored the specially designed panel sitting at the job and installed a generic box. Correction of that error created another delay. The plumbers take their share of blame. They brought gas to a manifold for the 3 feeds I need. They left 1 feed capped at the manifold rather than run a line to the heater sitting next to the manifold. That has required many more emails and phone calls to coerce the work. When more competent workers arrived to correct deficiencies and “finish,” they denounced the poor manifold support and the lack of a key shut off at the pool for the fire bowl in violation of building code. That required demolition of a segment of finished tile and concrete wall around the gas line. When Oak stuck me with additional work, I requested a quote to complete the project. They have refused even to do that. Not that I would let them touch anything else in my home ever again.

Oak Electric is my new favorite company. Repairman showed up on time for furnace repair. He was trying to find a solution to the problem that would minimize my expense while still fixing the problem. So far so good. It's nice to do work with people who are real and honest and fair
