Marc Dutton Irrigation

Terrible service and customer service. The technician didn't even bother to check the 3 sprinkler zones in my backyard when he came out to "turn on" my sprinkler system, which I actually turned on. I was charged full price for that service call even though the work was only half done. He also repaired the water faucet on the side of my house, and then lied about the time spent actually performing the work, and of course said the sprinklers that he did actually check needed to be replaced. Judy, the office assistant, was very deceptive in explaining the charges to me prior to scheduling the appointment, and when questioned about being overcharged (saying two people worked on replacing an item for 30 minutes when only one of them worked on it for about 15 minutes. The other guy just stood there and watched, as he was only an apprentice) she adjusted my invoice to a somewhat more reasonable price (but still overpriced) to reflect the actual labor performed after much back and forth. Judy even admitted that she overcharged me when I had my sprinkler winterization done earlier in the year because it was out of season. I had forgotten to have the sprinklers blown out until January. Then Judy threatened to send me to collections because I disputed paying the full sprinkler turn on charge when only half of the sprinklers were actually inspected. I will NEVER use them again, and I suggest no one else does either. It's just mediocre deceptive garbage of a company that is managed by idiots and thieves.

Marc Dutton also does not have an eCommerce solution to schedule appointments, make you feel as if they are doing you a favor to schedule/fit you in in 4 weeks; and frequently don't return messages left for scheduling. Unlike Maddox Irrigation, usually wen the work is performed by Marc Dutton, it is "acceptable" (although they leave open valves in sprinkler systems to assure they get the call in spring) Nothing gives me more pleasure than the compressor, and valve provided by Warren Pipe to do my own weatherization and NOT HAVE TO CALL Marc Dutton.

I don't remember the cost. They worked really hard, I have an older system. they worked really hard troubleshooting it. The only thing I didn't like was that they sent one guy the first time and then they had to come back, and they came back with another guy and I had to pay double. I wish they were clear with it. I was a little surprised at that.

The turned it on, but missed a lot of broken heads. We paid hundreds of dollars for this service. The tech spent a lot of time on it and complained about how much he had to walk to do it. When he left, many heads were sprinkling the driveway, street, and walkway. He missed six heads that were completely broken. Had another tech out to fix them, and we were charged again for the tech time, and he still missed two broken heads. The ones that were working were still not adjusted correctly. A lot of money for sub par service. First tech was very unpleasant about it all. Pass this company up and look for another.

Service tech Harold Thuesen and his partner rapidly diagnosed a series of issues with the system, from a faulty pipe joint that was allowing air into the lines to a faulty previous repair on the solenoids that had turned a four-zone system into a single-zone system lacking the pressure to power the sprinkler heads. They fixed the joint and rebuilt the solenoids. With the system working, they were able to flush all of the many sprinkler heads save one, which they replaced. Then they showed me how to program the system. They clearly had the expertise to diagnose and make repairs quickly, and they could not have been more helpful and professional. They did all of their work in an hour, too. These guys were not dawdlers. Highly recommended.

When I called to make the appointment I reported that we had successfully turned on the water to the sprinklers after the winter, but that now most of the zones would not work. The scheduler insisted on calling the service a "spring turn on" even though I explained more than once that the water was on, and that the problem was much bigger than that. As I feared the technician was only scheduled for a short amount of time but he spent 3 hours trying to fix the problem, missing other appointments. Then he had to leave, but had to turn off the water to all the sprinklers. He said he'd be back that afternoon or the next day to complete the job. The next day I got a call from the scheduler who told me that oh, no he couldn't be back again for several days! When I said the water was off, and that we were leaving for a 2 week vacation, the best she could do was schedule the tech for almost two weeks later! When he did come back out the problem was still not fixed and we ended up fixing the problem ourselves. Also, they seem to need more people. This is the second time I've used them and each time the earliest appointments are too far out into the future.

Adam called ahead to give me his arrival time, and arrived just as he'd said. He reviewed problem, and described the repair he'd be doing. Also indicated that he'd improve the situation by not just replacing the broken part, but by also adding some length to the line to remove a potential for another kink in the line (this was likely reason for initial problem). He fixed the problem within 15 minutes, and removed the potential for a repeat of the problem. Outstanding work. Normally I do my sprinkler repairs, but this looked more complicated than I wanted to do, so glad that Adam made it look easy. $100 for visit, but only $18 more for repair.. well worth the piece of mind knowing it was fixed right.

Arrived as scheduled, completed job in one day as planned and cleaned up area upon completion. Very pleased with the operation of the system.

Excellent service. Been using for several years

I had different technicians in the spring and fall service my systems, and none of them could figure out why a couple zones are inconsistent turning on. I was eventually able to find a solution online, but it's disappointing that the technicians couldn't resolve the issue themselves. I also have a leak in one of the heads that the technician claimed to fix last spring, but it leaked all summer and was again not fixed in the fall servicing. As soon as I find another company to service my sprinkler system I will be hiring them instead next time.

Have used them for winterize and start up for 4 years. Prices have gone WAY up over the past few years. In the spring I had some repairs done. It was over $800. I was charged for a tech per hour the watched the other guy half the time they were here.

The office personnel are efficient and courteous. Technician Roger arrived on time, assessed the situation and promptly executed the needed work. Roger is friendly but always professional.

Service performed quickly and well. All quadrants checked to be sure there were no other issues.

We weren't happy with them at all. The layout is not good. There are still large parts of the yard that were missed, that the sprinklers don't cover. We were having cement work done. We had a driveway put in. It was dry enough for them where they could go and they missed an entire section. Once the driveway was put in, we can no longer get underneath the driveway to get to that section of the house. The layout was poor and the installation guys were not great. After the fact, that fall, they came to do the shut down process. They did the shut down for us and it popped over the winter anyway. They were supposed to blow them out so that the water doesn't freeze in the winter time. It did anyway. Their planning was bad. It wasn't where we requested. Their follow-up care was not good. They've been completely unresponsive to any phone calls. They showed up for the appointment when they said they would. I've already told people not to use them specifically and I wouldn't use them again.

Marc Dutton Irrigation was extremely friendly, gave me an exact time they'd be here, and honored the Angie's List coupon. They came on time and did a good job. I will be using them for winterization.

They've been serving our home for about 40 years. They're excellent. They're very reasonable. They are professional; keep their word, friendly and very reliable. They provide value for whatever they charge.

The service was fine. I found the pricing to be a little high so I haven't used them again.

They have been working for us for 25 years. I keep using them because they do a good job. The have really good turn over.

He is great. He meets our expectations. They come out and clean up everything and in the spring they make sure everything is working right. They are friendly and get it done. They are fine, exactly what I would expect. They always come when they say, call ahead and come when they say they will be. They are very professional.
