Brian was excellent. He was great. He came out twice because the roof started leaking again. I called him, he came right back out and fixed it without even charging me. He was extremely helpful. He had lot of advice that he was willing to share. As far as the gutter guards, if there was a problem or if the water starts to build up again he said he would come back out free of charge. He offered to take a look at the insulation in my roof and to see if there were any critters. He just had a lot of helpful tips. The roof is holding up good so far.
Description of Work: I used BCM Home Improvement in December. Brian patched my roof. He also put on some gutter guards.

We had a roof leak that was apparently more extensive than previously thought. Brian came out and left a very detailed estimate including price of rebuilding the rafters and fixing roof droop over the garage. The crew came out as planned and completed the work in 2 days. Very pleased with the results. Roof looks amazing now. Only problem is now that the roof looks great, we have to paint the house to keep up with the newness! They are very courteous and professional. Cleaned up everything after the job was done. Highly recommend BCM for any work that you need to be done.

BCM's owner Brian was helpful through the estimate process and involved with the project. Unfortunately, I think Brian made a big timing mistake on starting the project. The work was to begin on a Monday morning, however due to a delay at a previous project, the crew did not arrive until late morning. At that point, they ripped off and re-roofed the garage and backside of the house. Night came a little quicker than anticipated, so the job was not completed in a single day as originally estimated by Brian. I believe what occurred from this point forward was both Brian's fault and my own. I did not check the weather forecast prior to work beginning, and neither did Brian (or he did and ignored it). Anyhow, the crew did not finish the work in a single day as promised, and the the hardest longest storms of the whole year (late November 2011) went on for 2 1/2 days. We had water coming down the chimney stack into our bedroom and water coming into our attic where ventilation holes were cut but not sealed as the project was not complete. This was a HUGE headache for me and still worries me that the roof will have long term issues based on the weather conditions that occurred during the re-roofing process. I will say that Brian was at my house by 7:30AM the next morning (it rained all night) and had his crew fixing the leaking issue immediately. At this point, the water did stop, however we still were without singles for another 2 days due to the heavy rains. In the end, Brian did deduct additional money off the total bill to help make things 'right'. He really was concerned throughout the whole process and very apologetic; hence the reason I did not give his company a C, D or F grade, as I think it was a lapse in judgement and not reflective on how he operates his company.

I was not home when they did the work on my roof, so I am unable to give an accurate account of how things progressed from start to finish. I am very pleased with the work that was done.
Description of Work: Brian's crew removed two layers of shingles, replaced plywood where necessary, put in a ridge vent system, installed new shingles, and did a great job with the clean-up. I was at work when they did the work on the roof, so I was unable to observe any of the work as it was being done. My son took a walk up on the roof several weeks later and said they did a great job. I am happy with the job that was done and would recommend BCM Home Improvement.

BCM did an okay job with the installation, but we ended up with a sheet rock repair that we were hoping to have avoided, which is why we hired professionals to do the job. They arrived on time and worked well together and were really willing to work with us regarding the sheet rock repair and attempting to fix it to our satisfaction. The only other difficulty was the lack of communication regarding arrival at the job site. They had me scheduled and forgot to call me to tell me when they were coming. I happened to try calling and found out that not only were they coming that day but they'd be at my home in an hour. The next day when they came back to touch up the sheet rock mud I asked that the let me know an hour before they arrived and I never got a phone call. They just showed up. This wasn't a big deal but it is good to know the flexibility you'll need if you hire BCM. The owner was really a nice guy and even offered us our money back in full if we weren't satisfied. Overall, I think we'll hire these fellas again when we have additional roofing repairs.
Description of Work: BCM replaced a bathroom fan and then vented it through the attic up through the roof.

They showed up on time when they came out for the consultation. He gave me a call before they were coming out to take care of the work. I had some corrections about their cleaning all the gutters on the contract but they only cleaned some of them so I called and talked to them about that yesterday. I haven't heard back but I am assuming, since I haven't paid them yet, that they are going to be coming out and doing that because they have to come back. I would continue to work with them when needed and refer them to other people.

I found BCM Home Improvement through Angies List and contacted Brian via the phone for an estimate. He was the quickest to respond out of 4 others, and his price was one of the most competitive. His level of professionalism is excellent, and his work quality is stellar. BCM did my roof in about 2 days, including removal of 2 layers of shingles. When Brian quoted the work, he said that he was going to lay down lots of ice guard and add 2 extra roof vents considering the size of my roof. He was very detailed about the work that he was going to do, and even described how he was going to do the step flashing, drip rails, and edge treatments, which put me at ease that this guy really knows what he's doing. BCM did the work during the hot month of Jully. I was impressed at the tenacity of the crew. Despite the high heat and humidity, they worked hard and still paid attention to the details. They worked quickly and efficiently, and executed everything that Brian said during the estimate. They took care when putting the step flashing under my siding. They draped tarps all around my lawn and bushes, and did a good job of cleanup afterwards. They even came back a few days later to touch up a bit of caulking (they ran out of black caulk and had to use white caulk on the roof vents at first, returning later to re-caulk with black for aesthetics). When they re-attached my gutters, they tilted it properly so it would drain better. They replaced a lot of wood rotten panels on my 4/12 sloped areas, and they also painted the new fascia board wood they installed. During the work, their air compressor started to leak some oil onto my driveway. They went out to buy some oil soaking granules, but it still left some minor staining. Brian was very apologetic about it, and did not charge me for the extra wood they had to use to replace for my wood rot. Accidents happen, but I was very glad to see Brian and his crew were quick to fix it, and willing to own up to it. I've had this new roof for 4 months now, and am very satisfied. I've had no leaks and no problems so far. BCM uses good materials and quality shingles. The work crew is very diligent, efficient, and has good attention to detail. I was very pleased with all the little extras they did, as it shows that these guys can be trusted. I highly recommend these people for roofing work, and will likely call them again for my garage roof next year.
Description of Work: Remove 2 layers of shingles Replace ice guard 6ft up 7/12 slopes, and install ice guard on all 4/12 slopes Replace all air vents Add 2 new vents Install new shingles Install new drip edge and rake edge Replace wood rot panels on roof (~50') Replace wood rot fascia boards (~12')

The experience went very good. They did a very good job. I got the shingles that I wanted. They cleaned up everything real well. All of the workers were nice and if I had any questions they answered them. Whenever I called the secretaries with questions they would call Brian if they didn't know the answer and get back with me within a couple of minutes. If Brian thought something was wrong he would tell me about it. If I had a problem with something he offered suggestions and told me who I should call. He seems to be very thorough and looks into thing and checks things out to make sure they sure.

I liked them so much that I ended up using a painter that they recommended. I like that they paid a lot of attention to detail and they fixed a lot of the exposed boards. There were a lot of ripples on the actual roof surface but they straightened everything out and made the lines on the roof nice and crisp. They fixed the flashing and repaired some things with the cedar shakes on the dormer. They did a top notch job and I couldn’t recommend these guys more. It was the best contractor experience that I’ve had on a large scale. They came out almost immediately and any delays were on my side because I was prepping for them. It was a really great experience and I have recommended them.

tst I had been calling companies on angies list trying to find someone who repair roofs, must of the companies were busy, or just wouldn't call me back. On nov.2, after calling so many companies I started to give up, then I saw bcm home improvement so I called the first # I left a message the second # a young lady answer who was very professional , I stated I was a member of angies list and asked if they repair roofs, she answer yes we repair roofs would you like for someone to come out give you an estimate? I said yes, she said she'll have someone call be with date and time. Well not even five minutes past and they call right back whit a date and time. On Nov. 5, Brian called me introduce himself , stated that he would be the one giving an estimate Brian was courtesy professional, and he made sure I was able to understand were my problem was and what the repairs would be. Then Brian quoted a price $500.00. and he told me I didn't need a new roof, he said he couldn't get to me till next week, but to my surprise he called me the next day which was sunday Nov.6 and ask if he could come out with his crew and repair my roof. Brian came bout 10:00 am they were quiet they showed professionalism, after they finished they clean up got in their trucks and waited for Brian. The lesson I learn is never give up.

They were absolutely excellent. They were prompt, courteous and intelligent. They were very careful not to destroy things and leave a mess. Construction people are so incredibly bad generally about tearing up you’re shrubbery and everything else, but these people were really smart. They seemed to really enjoy what they were doing. They put a smile on their face. They were a bunch of young guys but they seemed to be extremely competent. They were very efficient and gave a very good price. I would give them five stars for everything. The job they did was a small one and there’s no basis for comparison, but I thought their price was extremely fair. I think the price was around $300. They had an excellent price and an excellent attitude. I would definitely recommend them. I will use their services again in the future.

Brian came out yesterday to look at a roof leak. Brian arrived right on time and inspected the whole roof. He then got out some flashing material and flashed the leaking area. It has not rained yet so I don't know if it cured the problem only rain will tell. When it came time to pay Brian said there was no charge. I will definitely use him again when I need the roof replaced of fixed. Especially if the flashing works. Very good experience with this company.

I got three quotes from the four I rated as top Angie's List roofing contractors. BCM had the best over-all quote. Brian, the owner of BCM, was the most accommodating of those I contacted. We went up on the roof to look it over as my roof isn't a simple single ridged, double surfaced roof but has five ridges and nine surfaces. While on the roof he explained what his crew would do for my unique roofing requirements, including provisions for increasing the run-off on a particular problem area on the roof. His presentation was straight forward and he didn't employ any sales closing gimmicks such as calling the office to get a better price or giving a discount for putting up a yard sign, "one of a limited number of those available," in our yard for three weeks. Contractor number two didn't ask me onto the roof and didn't really seem concerned as to whether my business meant anything to him or not. He did leave a brochure. Contractor number three didn't go on the roof but used satellite imaging to prepare a quotation. Contractor number four didn't bother to return my initial call. The guys on BCM's crew performed above and beyond the service I expected. As I wrote above I have a unique roof (who doesn't?) with five ridges and nine surfaces. In an area where three of the surfaces converge Brian thought that a cricket was necessary to increase the run-off flow and reduce any possibility of puddling. Bob, his Dad, did that work. BCM also put down ice-shielding for the entire section. BCM installed extra flashing in problem areas. The other contractors didn't even see the possible problems. The chimney was saw cut for the flashing which neither of the other contractors even mentioned doing. BCM replaced all of the aluminum drip edge. The other contractors would have re-used the old edge. My roof started out with six vents but at Brian's suggestion I added six more which should reduce the ice dams I have had problems with since the re-roofing done fourteen years ago. If I have any problems with ice dams again this year, in the spring I'll call Brian and have the under eaves vents added. Would I have Brian's BCM Company do more work for me? Yes, and with my recommendation to anyone else considering re-roofing that you give BCM a chance at your business. You won't regret it. During the whole process I knew that Brian intended to do the best job that suited my personal needs at a competitive price. I did not once feel any concern that he would do anything less. What more can you ask for in a contractor? The quotes that I received for the same job were $8155.00, $5850.00 and $5000.00. In this case taking the low price did not compromise quality or service. It enhanced both.
Description of Work: Brian and his BCM crew performed a complete tear-off of the old shingles and felt paper and a re-shingling of the roof. Included in the price was replacing three 4x8 sheets and fifty feet of 1x6. Brian replaced four 4x8s and only six feet of 1x6. It was even Steven so no extra charge on the added sheet. BCM also put in a cricket in one area to prevent puddling and all new drip edging.

I contacted BCM about getting a quote and Brian from came out the next day. Brian gave me the price, which I thought t was quite reasonable, considering the amount of work done, so I told him to start the work. Since I had a leak already Brian put a tarp on my roof, unfortunately on a very windy day. The next day the tarp had blown off and was hanging off the front of my house, I called BCM and Brian was out immediately to put the tarp back on again. Brian and his crew had 80% of the work done in the first day - all the structural repairs done and the roof prepped for the shingles. They pulled everything out of my garage and had it back in by the end of the day. The second day they shingled, and they came back the third day to finish some trim work and do a final clean up. The finished work looks very clean and professional. Over all I'm very satisfied with the work they did. I would refer them to friends and family.
Description of Work: pulled 2 permits for work Lift gable end at front of house - gable projects from front of house approx. 24 in. it was sagging approx 8 in. install 3 new (4x4) supports under gable end re-side gable areas repaired re-deck front gable roof section re-shingle roof added 3 roof vents, ice shields, drip edges, etc. to bring up to code. install new gutters, downspouts etc. pulled garage back to verticle angle - garage was leaning slightly, and roof sagged appox. 12 in. in middle brace inside walls rebuild roof supports - previous owner cut away bracing to install door opener re-deck roof re-shingle roof installed ice shields, drip edges, etc. to bring up to code.

It went very well even though there were some delays due to the weather.
Description of Work: This company replaced a roof with three layers of shingles on an 85 year old house. They disposed of the original (!) cedar shingles in the bottom layer and replaced them with OSB decking. They installed a ridge vent and even blew in some insulation that was not listed on the agreement. They cleaned up after each days work. They did an A+ job and if you hire them you will not believe how much energy they have.

Brian came out to give an estimate on the date and time specified. Dealing with him in all phases of this job was a very pleasant experience. He made an extra trip to our house with samples of two shingles that we were undecided on. The job was scheduled and the crew arrived on time. The job was completed in much less time than we had anticipated. Our neighbors also commented favorably on how fast and efficient the crew was. The crew was pleasant and very well mannered. The cleanup was thorough and complete. In short, this was a very pleasant and completely satisfactory experience. We would not hesitate to recommend them, and would happily call on them again. We are completely satisfied with our new roof.
Description of Work: Stripped off old roofing. Replaced plywood as needed. Installed 15# felt and 9 feet of ice shield. Installed new Owens-Corning roof shingles. I LOVED the fact that the crew wore fall protection. I'm a safety trainer (OSHA) and most roofers said, "We don't need that" (they do, by law). Brian said he'd had a fall from a roof when he worked for another company and it taught him to always put fall protection on his own crew.
Description of Work: Complete roof tear-off and replacement on 2-story home; Brian and his team were punctual and courteous and fast. We were delayed by rain on the expected start date. They showed up the first day it was dry. Midway through the job, an unexpected storm came up. Brian's crew covered the roof carefully, using uninstalled shingles to hold it down, and not a drop came in the house. The next day, they showed up on time and completed the job.

After I had received 5 quotes for a new roof ranging from 2800 to 6450. I decided to go with Brian. He was very approachable and did not try to push his services. The other roofers were very pushy and one of them gave me 1 day to make up my mind. On the other hand Brian arrived and showed me all his licenses and insurance paperwork . He talked with me and he gave me two quotes. He recommended what needs to be done and left. I chose Brian as he gave me a lot of information and was not pushy like other salesmen. He left his contact number and left. Although there were other quotes which were cheaper. I did not like the salesmen as they said that I have to decide within 1 day. Brian's crew arrived at 8:00 am. They arrived on time. They started work promptly and also spoke to my neighbor to inform him that we were getting work done on our house. They covered all the sides with tarp and cleaned up well after they left. They also checked and used the magnet to remove any nails from the neighbors drive way along with our driveway. They did the job in 12 hours and the job was completed like he promised. He also made sure that there were enough intake vents for my house. He also added 4 soffit vents in addition to the above work. He also gave me the discount at the end of the day. All the members of his crew were very respectful and knew what exactly to do.

I called four different companies (all from Angie's List) for estimates. For a comparable product, they were all pretty much around the same number and BCM wasn't the lowest or the highest. Ordinarily, I would have given a B for the pricing since it didn't set them apart. However, I was given options for how good of a roof I wanted. I would never get anything less than the best for a roof, but it was nice to have a choice. Unlike some of the others, Brian (the owner) didn't play phone tag and actually showed up when he said he would. I never met with representatives from two of the other companies as they just dropped off an estimate and didn't come at the appointed time. As far as the work, the crew showed up early on a Saturday and worked pretty much nonstop for the entire day. There was no mess afterwards and the roof is looking good. I would definitely recommend them.
Description of Work: I own a 1000 SF ranch. I had the old roof (1 layer) completely removed and updated to some dimensional shingles. The old roof was only 15 years old, but based off of the old work order it was bare bones from a defunct company.

BCM is great and we have used them in the past and gave a review of that experience. Feel compelled to give another review because Brian Musgrove and his employees continue to impress. After a bit of coordinating busy schedules, we were able to get an inspection and estimate, which Mr. Musgrove did personally. We felt the recommendations were good and the costs reasonable, especially because making these changes will prevent the repeat of leaking we previously had that cost $1700 to repair. We gave approval and were put on their schedule. The employees were very professional and arrived promptly on the day of service. They did a great job and Mr Musgrove came back to inspect their work before we paid. I will continue to use this company in the future without hesitation!
Description of Work: Removed old flashing around chimney (that was installed incorrectly) and replace with new flashing. Corrected flashing around dormer windows and at small side windows to prevent small leaks and prevent future leaking.

Excellent. Other than a few freaked out house cats, the job was done professionally and on time. No problems were experienced during the installation. Since the installation, we have had some torrential down pours and I have yet to find a leak. Several of my neighbors were so impressed with the crew and the work provided that they are getting estimates from Brian.
Description of Work: I obtained estimates from 3 different roofers with A grades here on the list, and all were punctual and provided a detailed list of all work to be done and materials provided. However, BCM provided a lower bid with more extras than the rest. Since my home is a modified cape cod with a 8/12 pitch in front and a 4/12 in the back, (with ice dam problems previously) they offered to extend ice shield over the entire back and 3 layers high on the front. The entire front dormer was also fitted with ice shield as were the valleys and along the dormer exterior. Since the house did not have vents in the back, a vented drip edge was installed with cuts allowing air to circulate, where prior there was none. To ensure proper venting, they installed baffles in the attic space leading to the continuous ridge vent. (Since installation, the upstairs area of the house is probably 20 degrees cooler due to the better venting.) 7 sheets of plywood were replaced in areas where there was some questionable underlayment. The crew worked through one of the hottest days (7a-8p) prepping the house for shingles only to return a second day to install them. His crew was polite and nary a swear word was uttered during the entire job. The job site was picked up and clean and save for a few tiny scraps here and there, no mess!

I called for a estimate and the owner brian came over. He presented me with a portfolio of all he's cerftificate, license and pictures of previous jobs his company had performed. We set a date and the crew was here bright and early. Towards the afternoon we had some rain off and on for the rest of the afternoon but the crew quickly placed a tarp on the roof and when it stopped they continue to work. They got rained on several times until about maybe between 7&8 o'clock the crew was sent home because of the rain. The most impressive part was when the owners brother Andrew and another crew member stayed to clean up and put the material in the truck. It stopped raining and a ray of sun came out. The roof on the house was complete just needed to be trimmed and before the rain they were tearing off the roof on the garage. Andrew finishing tearing the roof off he put the felt barrier on, the metal edging, stacked all the bundles of shingles that would be needed on top of the roof and tarped it. The other crew member was busy cleaning up the yard of the debris . Then they packed up the truck and left for the day. These two troopers left my house wet, tired and broke down but they did not stop until they could do no more. BCM should be very proud of there whole crew. They did a wonderful job. These are young men that are all about business. They went over and beyond.

Brian provided a detailed quote describing his recommendations and my options. It was a very easy choice at that point and work started within a couple weeks. It was immediately evident that Brian has a passion and enthusiasm for his work, and this was reflected in the work quality - which was excellent. The details were well handled, and additional requested wood repairs really improved the look and structure of the roof. The entire BCM crew was courteous and professional, had the roof done in a few days, and left no evidence they were ever there - except of course for the sharp looking new roof! I wholeheartedly recommend Brian and BCM roofing!
Description of Work: BCM stripped the existing shingle layers, made necessary and requested wood repairs, and installed a complete new roof.
