BCM Roofing

They were professional and on time for both the site visit and repair work. While they only had to fix a small area of my roof, they took the time to caulk all of my vents also. I am definitely considering using them for when I am ready for a complete roof replacement.

Scheduling the sales call was great, Brian arrived on time and was friendly and knowledgeable but not pushy and worked up the quote at the call. This was the third of four bids, so by then I was thoroughly educated and knew what I wanted, Owens Corning shingles for the nail technology, but GAF Tigerpaw for the underlayment. No problem. It was scheduled for one day but with all the rain this spring, and leftover storm repair jobs from the April storm, really hot weather on the scheduled day, and the unexpectedly really bad condition of my porch roof, it took an extra two days with partial crews on the weekend. This tells me that Brian was trying to keep multiple customers happy at the same time, and stay on schedule, so I did not mind. It looks wonderful, and I had no problems during the August storms. It did take some time for them to turn in the photos to the city so the inspection could be scheduled, but otherwise it went perfectly as far as I am concerned. Cleanup was excellent, landscaping intact. Responsive to emails. The price was in the middle. They left me sufficient extra shingles for future repairs. The crew was polite. All of this was a huge improvement over my last roof 22 years ago. I am delighted.

I was happy with the work that was done. They came and worked all day and only took lunch. Everything was cleaned up. I would recommend them to anyone. The price was better than other companies I contacted and they were great to deal with. The workers came on the day they were suppose to and they worked all day, hardly stopping. They cleaned up after their work was done.

In general, I had an issue with the individual's personality, lack of professionalism and customer service. He would interrupt me and was condescending to me much of the time. As an overview of the history: my roof began to leak as the result of the latest rain storm, which included hail. I had already filed an insurance claim, and was waiting on the adjuster. The insurance company told me to have the roof secured, to prevent any further damage. I called this company to tarp it and to give me an estimate of a "patch job", as well as a quote for the entire roof. The person with whom I dealt was Kevin, I believe. I explained to him the situation, and he stated that he would credit $750 that he would normally charge to tarp the roof to any subsequent repairs. I had questions about the $750 charge for the tarp. This is when he curtly said that he "already TOLD [me]" that he wasn't going to charge the fee. Needless to say, I didn't appreciate his tone. I knew what he said, but based on his previous statement, the fee would be a credit, if I used his services. I wasn't sure whether I was going to, as much depended on my insurance claim. He also told me that a new roof would be $10,000, and that the cost for the repair on the area would be $3,500. The prices seemed to be steep, and I mentioned this. However, during our conversation, he cut me off again, and I simply asked him if there was a problem. He seemed to be very attitudinal and aggressive . He THEN stated that I was the attitude and that we clearly were not "matching", and left the premises. I guess he must feel better, thinking that he had the last word and that, by walking off, he made a point. He did. Customer service is a forgotten art.

They were over an hour late for the appointment. Kevin apologized and was quick to provide a written estimate. I am still waiting for 1 other estimate and have not contracted anyone yet.

An excellent experience - BCM Roofing cured a persistent leak that had been occurring for three years and which two previous roofing contractors had failed to resolve. Their approach was very much one of "fixing the problem", rather than recommending work and then quoting for more repairs if those were not successful. My leak actually came from several points and needed a few visits, but BCM persisted until my home was once again dry. For me, BCM Roofing provide a benchmark level of service. They will be the first company that I call, if ever my home needs more roof work performing.

Received a quote from Brian (owner) on June 10, 2014 to repair leaking rear roof. He quoted to replace 2 brown roof vents and to move bathroom vent further away from one of the roof vents. Received call from Jake to schedule and we set up for June 26th and he stated that he would call me the day before to confirm. No call received from Jake on the 25th, I called late afternoon and he returned my call at 6:45 pm to tell me that they couldn't make it and that they would try for Saturday July 5th or Monday July 7th.They were a no show/no call for the 5th and it was raining on the 7th. I never received another call as to when the work was to be scheduled. By this time I am totally fed up and called another company. Today, July 17 I receive a call from Jake stating that the work was done and my quote had been placed in the unpaid file. I have no knowledge of when or if they every showed to to do any work. I believe that the homeowner needs to be home when and if any work is done. I do not recommend this company.

They were very prompt, courteous and thorough. They did a good job and their pricing was reasonable.

I got the quote without any song and dance. They came out when they said they would and did the job. It looks great and I'm happy. I will call them again for the house. Thank You!!!

Met with Brian, had a full estimate and then drove around looking at examples of work, in particular the colors we had chosen. Other companies had lower prices, but gave us generic drive bys. It was was helpful to see the actual shingles we preferred. After deciding to go with BCM, even with the highest price, the process moved quickly and efficiently. We were gone and came home to a beautiful new roof. Everything was done on time and there were hardly any indications they had been here, other than the new roof. WE are very happy, however we are still waiting for the call to be made for the city inspector to approve it.

Brian was on time, friendly, and explained everything in the estimate. Brian also had a favorable price for the estimate (shingles, plywood, 1X6 replacement, etc) compared to their competitors. Price range for the work on my home was estimated from $7,500 to $10,000. I was actually planning on using BCM until I noted a discrepancy in the estimate. Brian explicitly stated during the estimate that he observed hail damage over the entire roof of my home, and that I should call my insurance company to determine if it was covered. I had two insurance adjusters from different insurance companies, along with 6 other roofing companies look at my roof and NONE of them noticed hail damage on the roof. The biggest reason for this is the metal caps and gutters on the home were spotless (usually with hail damage, you'll see small dents on the flimsy metal). Also, normally you'll see other homes in the area having their roofs replaced as well if there is a hailstorm that causes enough roof damage. There are no other homes in my neighborhood that are getting their roofs looked at. To their credit, BCM did offer to send a sales manager out to take a look at the roof and work with the insurance company, but I declined due to the overwhelming evidence and inspections (8 in total) that completely contradicted what Brian stated during my estimate. I decided to switch companies due to this discrepancy.

They were attentive, quick, and the roof looks great. Came back when the snow melted to ensure everything (nails, trash, etc.) was picked up. I did some driving around to talk to prior customers and they were happy as well. Also quickly addressed a few issues noticed afterwards with professionalism.

BCM came to my house to investigate a roof leak but turned out that it was a pipe leaking and not he roof. They went up and checked everything out and even caulked a venting pipe out of the bathroom for free. I would highly recommend them!

Jake followed through on everything that he said he would do. I ended up going with another contractor, but Jake was the first responder and provided me with HIGHLY competitive pricing.

I was in need of a new roof due to hail damage. Saw the reviews and requested an estimate. I requested a quote for two different types of shingles. The owner only gave me one and it was $6000 dollars higher than my other estimates. I called them back and left a message in regards to the other type of shingle. I never heard back from these people. Very poor customer service with high estimates.

Three previous estimates from other contractors, but not comfortable with any of them. Not necessarily the price but I didn't have a good feeling of confidence that I would be satisfied. Called BCM and was told Brian, the owner would be out the next day to provide an estimate. Brian arrived on time, walked the roof, accurately estimated the square footage and took pictures of problem areas. Brian exhibited a high level of knowledge experience and confidence. I immediately awarded the job to BCM. We scheduled the start date and Brian and his crew were on time and started work as promised. The crew worked consistently, about 12 hours each day. They were pleasant and respectful, each crew member knowing just what to do. Three days later the job was complete (1/2 day lost due to rain). No debris, everything was cleaned up and there was no evidence they were there except for the new roof.

The roof looks good. The crew was professional and polite and did a great job cleaning up when they were done.

Called BCM on a Monday morning after strong winds over the weekend loosened and blew off some shingles on our roof. The representative answered the phone on his way into work, took my name and phone number and said he would call back in 15 minutes when he got into the office. He called back within 15 to 20 minutes and I explained the issue with the roof. He said he couldn't get anyone out until Friday, but they would do a free inspection and estimate and let me know what to expect. Didn't get any updates over the phone throughout the day, but when I got home they had left a note on the door saying that they had completed the repairs at no charge. Will definitely call them again.

Great work in and out in one day. Great clean up. No issues. Very professional and knowledgeable crew.

The roof above the third floor bathroom needed to be repaired. Jake did not even go up on the roof to look at it. Before he left, he made a comment about whether I have trouble getting contractors to come out to Detriot. He was profrosessional at first, but I was upset when I felt he made the comment about the Detroit area. I felt he was quoting me a higher price just because my home is in Detriot.

Overall, I am extremely pleased with the service from BCM Roofing. They charge a fair price, got the job done quickly and do very nice work. We had our roof done in December and thankfully it was warm and not snowing. The foreman told me they would come out and do a cleanup again for us in spring (since there was snow on the ground and the debris fell into snow). I called this last week and the crew came out and did a very thorough cleaning. Great follow up! The only negative in my experience was that they found much of our wood paneling was rotten, which raised the price by an additional $900 over the estimate. This was already a large expense and I was not happy to hear about the increase. I looked at the wood and clearly it did need to be replaced. I would have been much more content if they had given me an estimate of what they believed it would cost and then a range of what it could cost, depending on how much wood would need to be replaced. That way, it would all be out there and eliminate the shock of a large increase in the middle of a job. Again, they did not charge me for any unnecessary work and overall I was very pleased with the crew and the job they did. I would highly recommend using BCM especially over some of the big name vendors who I have heard a lot of negatives about.

Zero complaints or areas of improvement. Professionals. From start to finish, BCM is all about quality and timeliness. Brian came by after completion to ensure our satisfaction. Jake follows up faster than anyone I know and can answer any questions you have. Good people.

Brian came out to give me a quote to replace (3) skylights in my home that had some minor leaks. I went with BCM since I appreciated Brian taking pictures while he was on the roof to explain in detail what the issues were. He also went out of his way to caulk the areas that were causing the issue to put a temporary patch on the problem areas until the actual skylights could be replaced. We had some issues getting the work scheduled due to the weather (issues out of there control), but when we decided on a date for the work to be performed I was told the crew would be onsite between 8:30-9:00AM. Unfortunately they didn't arrive until after 12:30, no phone call or anything saying they would be late. Much to my surprise the workers showed up 4 hours late and just started to perform the work without even notifying us that they had arrived. I would have expected at least a knock on the door to apologize for being so late (ruining our Saturday) and to let us know they would be starting the work. I had left a message with the company a few hours after they crew was scheduled to arrive to make sure they were still coming. Never received a courtesy call back to let me know that they were still coming or an explanation as to what the issue was. Hopefully the quality of work performed is better than the response I received the day the work was performed. This company is rated quite highly on Angie's list but my overall impression was somewhat disappointing.

Contacted BCM through email. The next day they called and we scheduled an appointment to inspect the roof of a new home I recently purchased. A few days later I met with Brian the owner of the company. (which was a bonus dealing with the owner directly). He arrived on time and went up the roof to inspect. Immediately he located the issue causing the leak. I went up to take a look. Brian showed me what he found and answered all my questions. He's extremely knowledgeable about roofing. I've rehabbed several homes and deal with contractors all the time, which isn't always fun.. He was honest and didn't try to sell me. He gave me the answers I needed and a couple tubes of sealer that I would need, FREE. I of course paid him for the tubes and for his time. I was very appreciative to find an honest roofing contractor. I will definitely use him again in the future and I recommend highly.

Brian was early in arriving to give an estimate, and when I showed up to the house (I was a couple minutes late), he was already on the roof to look at the current state. He was frank, courteous, very communicative before and throughout the installation. He was very good at educating me on what to look for in roofing, the effects of various installation steps, his past experience. He gave regular updates on the time line, and he had great recommendations for other companies to use for some of the other projects that we would need to do around the house in the coming months/years. He gave a fair price and a list of roofs he's installed so that we could check out the quality if his company's work (plus, seeing a whole roof in one color is a lot more informative than looking at color swatches). His team was efficient and industrious, and they cleaned up after the job was done. There was one garbage bag of scrap left behind (the dumpster was VERY full after removing three layers of shingles and cedar shake underneath), but that wasn't much effort to put out to the curb ourselves. I recommend Brian and bcm highly.
