I took my RV in to. Get the generator repaired. First, they said the voltage regulator was bad and the repair would be around $345.00 I asked them to check a couple wiring issues on it and I was told a day later, that the generator had a bad stator and needed to be replaced. The repair parts are not made anymore. I asked them to quote replacing it with what they recommended as a replacement. I was told that they would email a quote the next morning. I waited a week and went back to get a quote, and was told that the person I talked to, had a family emergency out of state. I asked for a bill and they had it ready In their office. It was made out a week ago, they had no intention of quoting the replacement for me. I got it home and ordered a generator myself and will install it when the weather warms up. Picked up on 12/27/18

Arranged for an estimate for a whole home generator. Scheduled an appointment for between 12-1 p.m. to obtain said estimate. I planned my day off around this 12-1 window, and estimator did not show up. I called American Generator to advise them of this, and to advise them I was no longer interested. A few minutes later, the estimator called with a slew of apologies and excuses. He proceeded to tell me that "this only happens to me once a year", and blamed our appointment dropping from his calendar due to an e-mail server migration. He did offer to come out immediately, but I declined as my confidence in the organization is gone. Punctuality and honoring commitment is important to me, and American Generator did not pass muster on either front.
