Timely response, scheduling and continuing communication. The technicians were professional and knowledgeable and performed great work for a fair price.

I had a water heater installed after the old one became inoperable after my basement flooded in the June sewer backup. Had a little problem contacting them, which I later found out was because of bad timing, they were switching to a new phone answering service on the day I called. I had previously dealt with Custom Temperature Control but found out they had been bought out by Flame and had taken over their phone number. First rep came to my house told me the bad news about my water heater and gave me an estimate for a new one. On the day of installation, got an email to tell me Bill and his partner were on the way to do the work. My house is old and a lot of the piping had to be reinstalled to accommodate the new water heater. At one point Bill had problem with unscrewing one of the piping joint so he called in an expert Mo, who had the equipment to get the issue solved. After four hours the job was done. I was impressed because even after the extra time and effort needed, the final charge still matched the original estimate.

They did excellent job this is 2nd furnace that I purchased.

Terrible! Flame Furnace gave me a 4 hour time frame and came 8 hours later to my 90-year old father’s house! I told them in scheduling that I had an elderly parent living in the home but they didn’t care to try to make a better time frame at all. The tech that did finally arrive told me after looking at the tank for 3 minutes that I needed a brand new unit and quoted me over $2000.00!!! He didn’t bother to check the date on the tank to find out it was a newer tank and the $50.00 part was still under warranty!!! I told him that I would be contacted his owner. The next day, I did speak to the owner who had no customer service skills. He was shouting at me and I asked him to lower his voice and reminded him that I was the customer. Then, he started threatening me that he was going to call the city if Dearborn Heights to let them know that the tank was installed without a permit. Why in the world would he have made a threat like that? Then, when I told him that I had the repair completed by an honest reputable company. He was bezerk!! He demanded to see the invoice and what work was done. The only thing he did offer was to send another tech out. I asked him why would I need that when the repair was already completed? This man was irate. He has a bad temper and doesn’t have a clue on how to run a business! Stay away FAR AWAY FROM FLAME FURNACE UNLESS YOU WANT YO GO DOWN IN FLAMES! Btw I’m reporting them to the bbb.

Recently had a plumbing issue for which I needed service so I called Flame to assist. The appointment was scheduled and timeframe they would arrive was given. They called the day PRIOR to day agreed upon stating they would be arriving in 15 minutes to my wife who is home all day under assumption that I gave her incorrect day/time. Tech Came out and gave quote for fixes which seemed very high. NOTE: Since this called other companies which provided quotes 30-35% lower than Flame. When I called Flame frustrated that they came out earlier than agreed upon and I wasn't home to truly understand problems found I got nothing more than a insincere apology and offer to have the tech come back out on correct day/time when I would be onsite to discuss problems. In short, highly recommend looking elsewhere for your plumbing issues as I cannot recommend a company that doesn't even offer to compensate me for a mistake on there end.

Tune up was fine, they found a leak and recommended replacing AC unit (which I did). The problem was there was a $50 rebate I was supposed to get as part of the $150 tune up. They were never able to finalize the rebate (from DTE) and they did nothing to remedy the situation. I would've thought they would get the rebate done or honor the savings. Really a lost opportunity by Flame to add business in Birmingham. The dollars didn't really matter, it is the poor customer service that I will remember.

I hired Flame to do a tune up on my furnace which included changing my humidifier filter. After a week or so, I realized that there was water on my floor and all over the furnace. The 2nd person came to my home, realized it was the wrong filter and ordered a new one. 3 weeks later after continuously calling to check on it, they finally called. The 3rd person came to my home with 2 filters, and claimed I asked for 2. After he started messing with the humidifier, the motor stopped working. He then gave me a quote for over $300 to repair it, and could not explain the price breakdown. He took out the filter and accused me of having an old one in there, when it was the filter the first person put in, then wanted me to pay for it. When I refused, I asked him to leave and have Flame call me. Flame never called me back. What I got was a bill in the mail for the filter. The humidifier currently doesn't work after 3 of them touched it and now they want me to pay for the filter which no one knows if it will leak in my humidifier. In the bill I received, there were comments from the last person that said I forced him to leave my house. That was a complete lie, I kindly asked him to leave, which is my right as a homeowner. He packed up and made conversation with me, and then left. He said, I should tell flame about my unsatisfactory experience with the company as he walked out the door.

Salesman (Troy) was out same day I called, I really felt he understood the scope of work and was very professional with no pressure involved. Not the lowest price but felt comfortable they were pulling the permits and doing the job right. Erik and TJ were awesome installers, I couldn't ask for better, super friendly and knowledgable. The 2 day install looks great and works great. The electrician (James) was great wired it up like I wanted. They couldn't test the system the day of install because of the gas not being connected. The office staff is great on the phone, sorry I don't remember the name but great service, had a small problem after the gas was turned on with moisture. The repair tech Kevin came out quickly to resolve with a quick fix. They use a messaging system that lets you know who is coming with a picture and background info when they are on the way, even maps the route they are taking. Just a great overall experience!!!

The serviceman was on time, knowledgable and efficient. He made all of the repairs required expertly. He was very courteous. I recommend Flame plumbing services wholeheartedly.

Prices are comparable. They do a good job. Tara, in particular, is especially great. I always ask for her!

I've used flame several times for fall and spring tune-ups and loved them. Furnace broke a couple months ago though and I went with them to replace it. They came out quickly which I appreciated but installed it incorrectly. Overall, it took over 2.5 months for them to complete the job. They were nearly impossible to get a hold of and I was wondering if this would ever get resolved. They eventually came out multiple times to fix and complete but they consistently showed up with the wrong equipment or fixed things in a way that broke something else. What’s worse, billing kept calling to get the invoice paid. After I told them of the situation they apologized and said that they would not call again until job was complete, but that message never really got around. It was like rubbing salt in an open wound. Terrible experience overall. They've been great before but have just completely dropped the ball on this.

Only one furnace installer and he worked eleven hours to complete the job. Should have had help to complete the installation.

I'm on a plan with them. It's about $16 a month. They could be more timely with their maintenance. You have to call them. I'm paying for a plan so I expect them to come out and call me and let me know what time their coming but they don't. They're pretty high.

Today he was good. I had to hassle to get them out here but the guy they sent was good. The sales portion was deceitful. I would not use them again.

It was a problematic experience. Even though the equipment was top-notch, some of the guys who installed it where intrusive in my property. It was a bait and switch with the price. Even though I got a top-notch system, I am definitely disgruntled. Overall, I would not go with them again. They play games with the customer. They need to stand by their word on their pricing period. They need better trained salespeople. When I initially spoke with the salesperson, that $1,153 deal was supposed to be with my sales package. He sold me on it. Then when the product gets delivered to my house it was a regular filter, not the air purifier program that he raved about. When I questioned it, he never talks to me or calls me back. This guy ran. They never let me talked to the salesperson again. I spoke with a I dealt with a very inappropriate manager named Joe who said "we never sold one of these, we would never sell it at that price, this is the price point for that". He didn't take my complaint seriously that I was 100% sure that this was supposed to be included in the bundle. So then when he was so sure it would never have been included, he said he would give it to me at cost. Then I find out that the $1,153 was not their cost. So twice they change up on me. I just have no respect for that sales team and operations guy. But yes they do sell a quality system. I would not recommend them. They were not honest. They made things right because they had to. I filed a grievance. They send you an email and let you know they are coming. A couple times they came out and did not have the right stuff. The sales office is horrible. They are not honest folks. The guys who came out were decent-some of them. One of them was going into the boxes I had in the basement and was very unprofessional, very intrusive, very violating my person space.

They switched the price on me. It was not fair. I don't appreciate it. It's very dishonest, avoidant, and unprofessional. The best part of my experience is that ended up with a quality product. The worst part was the lack of honesty with office sales and the manager. I think he's the operational manager. I know his name is Joe; I don't want to get his position wrong. He's either the installation or operations manager. The way they handled things with me, I didn't like it. It just wasn't fair. They changed it up on me. Even if it turns out that someone else got this system and paid within a thousand dollars of what I paid, the fact that they didn't give me what they initially promised, I will forever not like them for that. They were very abusive. I had problems with the pricing, getting in touch with the manager, having them call me back, the salesperson never calling me back. I don't remember that I had a problem with the time they showed up once they said they were coming out to install it. On the date that they installed this, I think the guy who installed it was OK, but I was still in the middle of a grievance about the pricing. The professionalism downgrade has to do with that experience. I would never buy anything else from Flame that I don't have to outside of parts that are under the warranty. They blew it.

I have a service plan with them. They put in my furnace, my heating and air conditioning. They have installed furnaces and air conditioners for me for probably thirty years. I like their service.

Good! The electrician was friendly, knowledgeable and neat!

The system installed isn't able to generate a comfortable difference between inside and outside all year round, I could suggest them for service but never for a system replacement.

We've used them a long time. They come out twice a year. Once to inspect our air and once to inspect our furnace. We pay an automated monthly fee. It's something like $16.59. They actually explain what they're doing and why. And their actually available any time, day or night.
