Alex came out and did a very thorough assessment of my home. He checked the source of my original issue, which was a ventilation fan in my master bath. He recommended a higher capacity fan along with insulated ductwork. He also conducted a thermal scan of my home so I could see the cold spots in the walls. Then, he explained all the potential work that I could have done, from a couple of basic things all the way up to a full energy star rating for my home. He also explained the various rebates that went along with the work I could have done. I ended up going with the ventilation work and getting some spray foam in my basement. He also discovered an open air return in my attic. We were blowing hot air straight out of system that could have been recirculated through our home. When Alex and his crew, which consisted of him, his father, and one other team member, showed up to do the work they laid down tarps where they were walking to protect carpet, and immediately went to work on my project, they were in and out in about 4 hours. I chose upgraded ventilation fans for two of my bathrooms, the fans are awesome, they're super quiet and powerful and also have a timer delay so the vent runs for a few minutes after you power the fan down. My bathrooms vent great now, what use to be a hot, steamy bathroom is cleared in seconds. They pulled out the old insulation in the basement and applied spray foam and also put a bead of faom around my base3ment windows.They paid attention to the details, were conscientious about my home, and all around good guys to work with. I'm saving my money and plan on using them again to fill my walls with foam. Next winter I'll be ready thanks to Building Performance Solutions.

Alex came in and did a full inspection and gave us the proper time and education we needed to move forward. Alex is very knowledgeable and made my wife and I very comfortable with him. He is very clean, friendly and professional. They did our ENTIRE house and what a difference it has made. Our floors were so much warmer right away and now the entire house. Our furnace runs less and it has cut down on our bills. We are very happy and would definitely recommend Alex and his team to anyone :) Alex went above and beyond to make us happy and we just want to say THANK YOU!

This stuff is so cool. It bonded to the surface area and expanded to about two inches. It dried quick and is very solid and was completed really fast. Before the insulation was sprayed, some areas of our crawl space were at freezing temps and we had a nagging leak from two walls. Since we had this done, first about two months ago and than again on March 22, our basement is warm and we haven't had any leaks. We also had cold air coming through the Michigan Basement walls at the ceiling area but no more. This company gets to your home on time, evaluates your concerns and gives you the best options available. Professional and knowledgeable. The person that we spoke with was Alex. The workers that sprayed the insulation were really nice and neat. This went really well, even better than I expected. Not only was this a great fix for our problem but it saved us a few thousand dollars and will save us more in energy bills in the future. Thank you Building Performance Solutions.

I had a previous estimate for $515 for insulating a wall for soundproofing purposes. Then I saw this big deal ($99 for $500 in insulation) and thought it would be perfect to cover my small project. When I went to redeem it, the business had now added a disclaimer saying that most jobs ranged at $1,500 and up and that the coupon would be applied to the entire cost. The business owner suggested I ask for a refund because he could not honor the coupon for the job I wanted done because the discount was too deep for such a small job.

I received a message saying they would call to set up a time, they never did. I called them today and there was no answer. I have contacted Angie's List to seek a refund.

I purchase my home about a year ago...a 1300 square foot ranch built in 1966, and immediately noticed how cold and drafty certain parts of the house are/were. I could not afford to do anything last year, so as soon as the weather started to change again this year, I decided to check into what needed to be done for me to be comfortable in my home this winter. I googled, injection foam insulation, and up popped Building Performance Solutions Inc. I read through the website and immediately knew that this is what I needed to check in to and possibly do, if the price allowed. I called and left a voice mail late afternoon and received a phone call back the very next morning. Alex Van Rijn, the president of the company, came to my home to do an evaluation to see how energy effecient my home actually was or wasn't. Well, to say the least, it wasn't. He gave me a quote with all of the work that needed to be done, broken down, in case I wanted to just do a little at a time. I decided to have everything done at once. Alex arrived the morning of that scheduled day, on time and ready to go. It was a flurry of activity the entire day, but he and his crew got everything done in one day, and let me tell you, it took the entire day, as there was very little insulation left, after 47 years, in the walls and attic space of my home. It has been a couple of weeks now since the work has been done, and I definitely feel the difference, adding the insulation has made. It was 6 degrees outside this morning, and my furnace definitely does not have to work as hard as it has been, to try and keep my home warm. Before I had this work done, as soon as the furnace would shut off, 5 minutes later it would kick back on. You can tell that the heat is staying inside the home instead of going right out the walls. I'm looking forward to seeing what my next gas bill will be. Along with the obvious perks adding insulation has brought to my home, I've noticed just how much more quiet it is as well. Alex responded right a way to my phone call. He was out the next day to give an estimate for our job. His proposal came the next day and he schedule our job even before he received our deposit (25% for materials). He showed up to do the job exactly when he said he would and because he explained the process so well, we were completely prepared for what he would be doing. Because it was near dark when they finished, they missed installing mortar in one hole. Alex returned promptly to fill the hole.
