Great. When the did the roof they did a good job and did a great job cleaning up. They even came back after all the snow melted to run the magnets again. Very thorough. When they did the siding, it was the beginning of the season so it took a while to get everything started but they did an awesome job. Huge kudos to worker Nick Marshall who did the bulk of the work and his attention to detail was the best!!

When high winds come thru our neighborhood it is not uncommon for shingles to be blown off. Our roof is 16 years old. Maintenance is required, of course, but replacement is not due for several years. Sean from this local company, Roof-Rite, came last fall and again this Spring to replace shingles that had blown off. He matched them and replaced missing shingles within the week to avoid having rain or snow enter and we were good to go. Pam, their office administrator, was very responsive in getting this coordinated quickly. They did not pressure us to try to sell us a new replacement roof that is not necessary at this point in time. In the future, I would certainly reach out to them for replacement. I will share this information with our neighborhood Facebook page.

We initially contacted Roof Rite after a storm had blown several shingles off our new home. They responded the same day and placed a tarp over the area, as there was more severe weather coming. Shoane explained the previous roofing job had been done poorly and we will probably need the roof replaced. Roof Rite worked closely with the insurance company and explained where "short cuts" had been taken. We appreciated that very much, as it helped everything go very smoothly. The experience with Roof Rite went very well. The work was done as soon as the weather permitted, completed in a timely manner and looks fantastic! Shoane was polite and personable, as were all the workers and staff we interacted with at Roof Rite. Additionally, the balance due was not expected until we were completely satisfied. It has been 2 years since the work was completed. We have not had any issues or areas of concern and it still looks wonderful!!

They did the repair timely, and I thought things were ok. It's in my kids' bathroom, and they often use the tub in my bathroom, so I don't go in there often. A few months passed and in the recent rain, I noticed that the small leak is now a large leak, and the ceiling of the bathroom no longer has a tiny hole, but a big one. I contacted Roof-Rite. He first said they don't guarantee skylight repairs, but he came anyway. Now he says there's a problem with my the way my shingles were installed that voids the warranty. He says he caulked -- both the work his guys did and didn't caulk, and the skylight itself. He acts like he did me a favor by not charging me to actually stop the leak I already paid him to fix. According to him, before he took my money for the skylight repair, he wasn't there to "inspect the roof." I agree - he was there to IDENTIFY THE CAUSE OF THE LEAK AND FIX IT. I didnt' say there was a problem with the skylight - I said there was a leak. If all it required was caulking, he shouldn't have charged me $475. And if it was a bigger problem with the shingles, he shouldn't have done a skylight repair and charged me $475. I asked him if the leak is fixed now. He says "it is fixed and it was fixed." The crumbling ceiling proves otherwise. It seems like the explanation of the shingle installation is him trying to justify why the leak I paid him to fix is still leaking and will continue to leak. If it's now fixed, I'll accept it and move on. If not, I want my money back.
Description of Work: I contacted Roof-Rite because I noticed a very small leak in my kids' bathroom, around a skylight. I also asked them to seal a gutter on the back of my house.

Often repairs are difficult since problems arise from a multitude of issues and must be diagnosed. In this case there was a couple of issues. While we addressed the original issue, a follow up determined a problem with the original installation which entailed a incorrect installation of the shingles. This is called racking. Since it was impractible to replace the roof we used what we feel is the best stop gap solution to stop the leak based on what we have to deal with. As a company since we are not replacing the roof when doing a repair, it becomes apparent that is difficult to always have a happy customer, since we did not do the original installation.

In three different places, random shingles had slid off from our steep roof. Some were apparently not nailed correctly. The estimate we received was in the range hoped for, so agreed right away. The repair was scheduled within a week of the estimate. The repair crew of three arrived as scheduled and each took a separate area of the roof to repair -- replace shingles and caulk as needed. The one repair required Roof-Rite to bring a 40-foot ladder. Splitting the work this way, they were done and loaded up in just under an hour. Pictures show a before of the highest location needing repair, and then two workers up on their ladders getting the work done.

Pam from Inside sales is Very helpful and probably one of the only employee who can be trusted. Quote process was done professionally, Repairman was suppose to come at 3 pm on last week Friday, they kept on moving the time by 1hr and then decided to come next day morning. They never called to provide any update, I had to call every time to find out what happened. On Saturday they were suppose to come in morning around 9:00 am, they didn't show up but when I called they promised to come around 11:00 am. I called multiple times from 11:00 am till 2:00 pm and got no response, I had to call Pam ( Roof rite Angie's List contact person) and request her for help. They called back after that to share that they were on the way to my home and wood flew off on the road and split in half. They couldn't find any new wood on Saturday. We ended up moving the job to Monday, On Monday they showed up at wrong address (my Old house), when Quote and Job site was my new house. Finally they showed up 2 hrs late in the evening, they were tired and were complaining about their Supervisor and how he gave them wrong material to fix the job and how he does it all the time etc... etc. They tried but didn't put the siding back properly and promised to come back on Tuesday (9/22) with correct material. Tuesday morning I called their Supervisor Shawn and to my surprise he was asking ME, how come they didn't do the Job right, they must not know how to put the siding. I had to REMIND HIM THAT THEY WORK FOR HIM AND HE HAS SEND THEM to my house as Siding Expert. He promised to call me right back after talking to them, but he never called back. I called him at least 15 times but no response. I ended up calling Pam again on Thursday (9/24), requesting for her help. She contacted her crew and help me connect with the Owner, who took care of it. It was very SIMPLE job and created all this Stress and run around for no reason. It looks like they are having some trouble with their repair Crew.

As the owner I do not know what to say. After reviewing the job I felt that we had done an exceptional job on a repair, not a replacement. I do know that it was difficult to communicate as a result of the customers accent. I also realize that a customers expectations may be askewed not understanding that we can not make a "repair" look exactly like new, since the original materials are not available to us. We went out of our way with two visits and did an exceptional job for what we had to work with. I stand by our many positive reviews. As far as a time line, most people understand and we try to explain as clearly as we can, that when we get into a repair job we do not know how long it will take based on many unknown factors, so scheduling an exact time is difficult when delays on previous jobs can be unforeseen. Most people understand this. Jim Brown Roofrite

We loved working with Roof Rite! After a horrible hail storm, our roof, some siding, and all of our downspouts had considerable damage. Todd, the project manager, came out and gave us a free quote. He then worked with our insurance company and kept us informed the entire way. It took ONE DAY to rip off our roof, replace the shingles, install ridge vent (not there originally), replace siding around our windows, and replace all downspouts. The crew he had out here was wonderful and very considerate of our "no smoking on the property rule" as my daughter is highly allergic. They were all very kind and curteous. The work was done quickly and with great care. Our new roof is beautiful - a huge difference! I am VERY glad we gave Roof Rite a call; I had a great experience working with Todd and the crew.

Roof Rite did a great job from start the finish. From the initial consultation, Shoane was very professional, attentive, and hard working. His stayed in constant contact with me to keep me updated on the work and always returned emails and phone calls within 24 hours. His crew finished the job in one day, were cautious about protecting the landscaping, and made sure they cleaned up when they were done. Before leaving, Shoane took pictures of the roof work with his camera phone and sent them to me so I could see the end product (it's not visible from the ground). He also took the time to explain what he did. I won't know if the work helped with the ice dam issue until this winter but I'm crossing my fingers! I would definitely call Roof Rite again.

We had a roof put on and that was by a company called Roof-Rite out of Michigan. We got extensive bids and they did a nice job. They were good. They were very professional. They got it done fast and it looks nice. We were having a little bit of an issue with the actual shingles themselves. We got some sort of a dark spot and we are kind of trying to deal with them but that is the shingles itself and it is not them per se. It is a product issue. It is 'A' for the workmanship quality.

Let me begin by apologizing to Roof Rite for taking so long to write this review! Our house was one of the casualties of the hail storm that happened on July 27th.We went with a company that was recommended to us. After 21/2 months went by and nothing was done and no return calls I called Roof-Rite. They showed up within 2 days and gave us a quote We were very impressed and signed right away. Within 2 weeks the job was completed. Their roofers were the best..prompt, professional , and very polite. We have a sunroom with four skylights and a stack from our gas fireplace that didn't look too good. They painted the window frames and the stack so they matched the shingles..I was not expecting this extra care they took.. It looked fantastic! The siding guys did an EXCELLENT job! They went above and beyond to make our house look good..they did such a good framing out the windows that we decided we did not want to put the shutters back up. I would recommend Roof-Rite to all my friends and family.

It went well. They were done in two days and cleaned up well. Chet was very responsive and determined to make sure I was satisfied with the service he and the roofers gave. They were all very courteous and helpful and I could talk to any of them, not having to wait for a foreman to be available. A piece of my shed roof (not installed by Roof-Rite) had come off and was accidentally thrown out in the initial cleanup. A roofer brought me new shed shingles (no charge) and installed them, which I appreciated. A workman is coming back to do a final cleanup now that the gutters have been installed.

Our siding, roof and gutters were damaged by hail in July, 2014. Contacted Roof-Rite. Pam provided a quote for all repairs which included replacement of entire roof, damaged siding and all gutters. Quote was within our insurance payout. All work was performed promptly and professionally and our house now looks better than it did before the storm. Roof-Rite was very patient in waiting for our mortgage company to release the insurance funds. Would definitely do business with this company again. Thank you Roof-Rite!!

From the start the requested put in through Angie's List, was immediately responded to and an appointment scheduled. I was to meet with Paul Whorf. Paul's presentation was really great, I mean my wife and I were both blown off our feet. But that is what a good salesmen will do. A great salesmen will back up what he/she says during and after the sale. That is where things begin to get sticky. Paul seemed very friendly and accommodating until I signed the Proposal. Once that was done, I was or I will honestly say, all the attention given to me at the initial stage, seem to change to me being a pest rather than a customer. I asked a lot of questions, and we communicated by e-mail mostly. I did so as to respect that he may be giving another presentation somewhere else, and thought of how disrespectful to call him. Let me note this home is my first home that my wife and I purchased together, but it was my first Home purchase period. I was excited and a bit inexperienced. When given the proposal, I thought I was signing a proposal as that is how it was delivered to me, but when I asked how long do I have to decide, Paul's response was "You just signed an agreement, you have 36 hours to cancel it". I can honestly say I felt a bit duped by that tactic, but only because Angie's List had such high ratings, they did meet our budget, and I let my excitement get the best of me, I ignored the fact that I felt duped, and let it go. I figured if I feel any different I will just cancel. It was a week before the scheduled date for them to start so I had time to make a change in which I upgraded the original shingles, to a higher end and heavier weight. The delivery of the shingles went fine, and the job itself went fine. But during the presentation Paul made statements he never intended to keep. For one, he told me that a "Shingle Over Vent" ventilation system would be installed where the roof joins the wall. Due to this I was to pay for three additional vents along my front porch. The vents were installed but the Shingle over vent or "Omni Wall" was never installed!! When I asked Paul about that at the time of paying, he then said "We decided to go with what the city code was.? That did not make too much sense to me as there was no need to install the vents over the front porch, but his response "Your front porch runs into your garage and there is ventilation from the garage that will be sufficient." Being a first time home buyer I respected his answer but after he left I went into my garage and there was not connection, it is clearly cut off by a wall and there is no ventilation as he stated from my garage to my front porch. I felt duped again. I felt he used his knowledge against a person who did not know much about roofing or how roofs are ventilated, and thus ran false statements by me and did not care as at this point check was in hand. I was not informed of this vent change at all, I had to inquire about it to find out it was not code, which means I paid for an additional 3 vents for his pocket not for the longevity of my roof. Secondly, neither I nor my wife admired the flashing job around the front of the Garage that faces the street. Our concern was cosmetic, but it was still our concern, that we felt could eventually become a problem and that something should be done about it. Basically I was told that the flashing comes in 10 ft lengths, and they cannot stretch the entire length of my garage in the front so a second one had to be cut and partially and laid (overlapped) on top of the other to create a solid line. But this overlap was very sloppy to me the customer, but Paul basically disagreed, but said he would send over the roofer supervisor (Paul actually stated his name but I don't remember now), to nail it down or something so that it was would be flush, or at least lay down better. At this point the flashing looks uneven and as if it is already coming apart from the roof. Well as of this day, no one has come to look at the roof and I have not heard from Paul since he left my house with check in hand. Why is that so important that I have not heard from Paul? I offered Roof-Rite more business at the time of signing the contract. My wife and I wanted all the wood around the front of my home covered with vinyl overlay so that I would not have to have my home painted every 5 years or so. This was something Paul offered as an option during his presentation after he showed a home in which they did this very thing at the same time as the roof. He said he would give me an estimate after the roof was done, but he failed to do that over and over again. He would procrastinate until he would then say "well I have an appointment to get to" and I would always respect that statement and wait on his estimate Paul never came back to my home. Paul stated he would be back in two days to give us an estimate and have the flashing nailed down. It?s been a few weeks now no one has come to nail the flashing or give us an estimate!! After, talking to the owner I have been informed via email by Paul that the company is too busy and they will not be back to give us an estimate but they will try to get someone out to nail down the flashing. Funny, how after they get your money your dismissed and told they don?t have time for you nor do they want your business anymore and all we wanted as a customer is good service, quality work, honesty, and punctuality.... Update 10/17/14 After reading the response from the company I am angered even more. You applied vents to an area of my room that has not exit. Paul was dishonest in his initial sales pitch and stated he was adding a shingle over Vent (Functional Ventilation for where the room joins the wall). This was never installed, and I did not have any vents on this area of the roof prior. I will state again for the record I DONT think Paul is a good salesperson. I think he completely played a role to get a sale. Once the sale was achieved, Paul became a different person. That's the truth and my experience that the company cannot just "write off" as me just being one person. The salesperson complete name is Paul Whorf and he is the sales person I would NOT want to do business with ever again. He lied repeatedly to me just so he could move on to the next sale. After I paid him, he completely disregarded me and my wife. In his mind the job was done and he could care less about addressing my concerns. It seems to me that they don't feel homeowners know how to do roofing so how would we know what is not right about our roof or anything else. As long as you say you are completely satisfied, then you are ok with this company, but don't have concern or complaint, because you are immediately written off. This company really sucked in the end. I would never ever used this company ever again. It shows me that if there is ever something seriously wrong with my roof that requires repair, I don't believe they would honor the contract. With the exception of the Omni Wall that was never installed though my concerns were mostly cosmetic issues. Very simple to fix, but Paul did not think I was worthy. As a matter of fact I contacted the company and stated my disdain for the immediate disregard Paul showed upon my and my wife, and that I wanted to deal with someone else in the company. Guess who still contacted me: Paul Whorf. The same person I specifically put in writing through Angies list to the company that I no longer wanted to speak with. The company would not even honor that. What you will not do Mr. Roof Wrong (its not Rite at all), is make me out to be a person who complains and you can just simply disregard. I don't trust a sole in the company because even the owner acts completely the same. I could be getting treated like this because I did not pay 13K or up for my roof, I don't know, but it seems really strange how they completely wrote us off even though I had concerns. They was also supposed to give a quote of other work I requested to be done, and I was told during the sales pitch that after the roof was done, a quote would be given on the other work. That never happen, ever. Once I paid for the roof they disappeared and I could not reach them until weeks later when one day without notice, I get a knock on the door (luckily I was home on disability), and two workers said they were here to address my concerns. I did not receive a call or email giving me a specific date and time frame that anyone would be coming over. I may not have been home, which I think was the plan, as Paul knows I work during the day. I just happened to be home that day. Further, after realizing they did not give a quote on the other work I requested, you know they had to audacity to tell me "we are too busy so we are going to pass on that work" What NERVE!!!!!! Here is my advice to anyone reading this. Paul complained about the last job they were on as well as a neighborhood home they did, where he complained that the home owner was outside with binoculars and made them come back out and redo the chimney flashing because he thought the caulking was not straight. I should have taken my cue then. When I told Paul that there were no nails found but my driveway was littered with cigarettes, and a Pabst Blue Ribbon bottle cap. (I don't smoke or drink) I explained that he may want to talk to his workers to ensure that those types of things are not left on peoples property. It was advice, I cleaned it up myself, but added that advice because it did annoy me. Its my house I have that right to expect that out of a contractor. but after that, his whole demeanor changed and I think he made up his mind that he no longer wanted my business. My point, if you have a complaint about anything, don't pay the company first, you wont get the same treatment afterward.

Response from Roof-Rite Inc
[member name removed] stated that we responded quickly, scheduled an appointment and had a great presentation. He also states that Paul was an excellent sales person. We understand that he was concerned about the venting on his front porch. We looked up the agreement where it states we would install three soffit vents in the porch, which we did. There were a couple other minor cosmetic concerns after the job was completed. However, due to major storms in our area, we will admit we were a little slower than our usual response time. We have since addressed all of [member name removed] concerns. We’re sorry that [member name removed] feels he did not get the appropriate services desired. We truly appreciated his business.

It started out good, we had a few delays that put things behind, they made me aware of the delays and did everything they could to speed the job. I inherited my parents house so it is a old house built in the 1950's by my dad, this is the first time since then that it had new siding, the roof and siding looks great, you did a great job. I just want to say that Greg who did the siding is a very hard worker and did everything he could to get my house done, and that he did a great job. My parents would be very happy with how the house turned out. I would use your company again if I needed too.
