Worst workmanship I’ve ever seen. Basement still leaks, the system they installed does not drain water into the sump crock looks like water is now being diverted under the floor. Owner never came out to look at what his employees call a finished job. I was quoted by Dennis $56 a foot in the basement and when I got upstairs it was actually $59, red flag. I was quoted and designed a system and they installed another. Look at pics and you decide if you want to hire these hacks and liars. One other thing the workers mixed the Qiukrete next to my furnace that was running and the whole house was filled with concrete dust.

Started out fine given a price of $50.00 per foot. Some of the work had to be changed due to having room to move all items from two different walls. Decided to do one wall at this time and delay the other until spring of the year. This change brought the work from $50.00 a foot to $91.00 per foot. We did have the work as it was a area that needed the most attention, and the company had spent time with us setting up the work. The increase was totally out of line from my point of . view. We will look for someone else to do the remaining 30 feet in the spring of the year.

Northland did a great job. They raised the slab a significant amount, closing the gap at the bottom of the garage framing. Additional foam injection was done throughout the entire slab to close off any voids. On the outside, they demolished and removed an add-on lean-to and added soil fill and pitched the grade away from the garage. Shortly after the job was completed, we had a heavy, driving rain towards that side of the garage. I was impressed in that there was no further washout of any soil show that underneath the slab has been well sealed.
Description of Work: About a third of my garage slab sank resulting in significant gaps between the garage framing and block base. Along the outside where the slab has dropped, the grade was pitched towards the garage with significant washout of the soil under the garage slab.

This did not go well. Northland Basement has a three step program to get started on Radon Testing and Mitigation as reflected on their web site. STEP 1: Contact us by calling or e-mailing us. STEP 2: Our Radon Gas Measurement Specialist will install the Continuous Radon Monitor (CRM). This visit will take about five minutes, during which time the specialist makes sure that the CRM is placed in the best location in your house. The specialist will also make sure you're informed of the required conditions for accurate testing. STEP 3: The specialist will return after a minimum of 48 hours have passed. During this second meeting, the specialist will print your radon testing results right there on the spot. This process should take between 10 and 15 minutes. I received a phone call from the company representative on the day he was suppose to come to my home. He asked what I wanted to do and I told him I was expecting them to retest my home for radon and then could decide what action, if any, to take for mitigation. So, what they state on the web site differs from the work that they will actually perform. The person in the office who scheduled my appointment stated that radon mitigation could cost anywhere from $800 to $1500. The Northland Basement Systems representative who was coming to my home said that costs start at $1250. First red flag. Then he told me they don't do testing but he would mail me a test kit if I wanted it retested. Second red flag. He basically wanted to come and tell me how much it would cost for radon mitigation and install a radon mitigation system. All that he was telling me was in direct conflict with what their web site states (see above and attached picture). As you can see their web site states they will set up the Continuous Radon Monitor (CRM) and come back in about 48 hours. They will print out the results on the spot and if the result is above EPA standards they will give a free estimate to install a radon mitigation system. I don't want to invest in a system without confirmation that radon exists. Also, if you look on the internet, several sites indicate that short-term radon tests are not accurate which is why I wanted confirmation of the Continuous Radon Monitor (CRM) test. I'm sure this company would do a good job of installing a radon mitigation system; however, they need to follow their guidelines as stated on their web site or change the web site to agree with the work they will actually perform. Also, both the office representative and the company representative who was scheduled to come to my home didn't seem to know what was on the web site. They really need to correct their web site because I was basing my decision to hire them based on what they said they would do.
Description of Work: RADON Mitigation based on a short-term test performed and mailed to AirCheck, Inc., in North Carolina. I contacted Northland Basement Systems to conduct a follow-up test to determine if Radon Mitigation was necessary. No work was performed but I wanted to point out that Northland Basement Systems advertises on their web site a three step procedure for radon testing but they do not perform those tasks stated.
