We lost the oppritunity to purchase this property due to the contractor taking a month plus to provide a quote. Well actually, we never did get a written quote even though we were promised on several ocations. All we got was a phone call (after a month of calling and leaving messeges) saying that the whole foundation needed to be replaced. This house needed foundation work so I realize that it would take a little longer than their typical 2-3 days BUT, they would never call me back or return my calls. The lady that answers the phone was rude and very short with me. I even explianed that this was VERY important to us and our 4 kids and she made me feel as if she could care less. We kept getting put off and put off. I'm not sure if they thought that I didn't have the $$ to pay for their services BUT they are very wrong!! I know that Blue Line will respond to this with some type of excuse about how bad the foundation was and were waiting on other contractors but believe between the poor customer service and lack of professionalism is FOR REAL!!. They will say that the whole house needed to be tore down BUT...the lucky couple that bought the property didn't have any problems getting things taken care of! And keep in mind, I had been in contact with Blue Line since early March and still never receive a written quote!
Description of Work: This was supposed to be quote for ust to get financing.

[Member Name] I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you and your family. We do strive to provide the best service possible, both with estimates and job performance. After examining the property, we realized that in addition to the framing, roofing and mold that needed to be addressed, there were major problems with the foundation of the house. In order to provide you with an estimate that was as accurate as possible, we contacted several foundation companies to bid the job. Most of those companies backed out based on the amount of work that was necessary to make the house structurally sound. We did get one company to bid on the job, but was informed that the entire house would have to be lifted to allow them to work. We have still received no word from the house moving companies that we contacted about those prices. You and I spoke on the phone about the large scope of the work necessary to make this house structurally safe for you and your family as well as the difficulty we were having getting accurate numbers for that work to be done. I did let you know what the approximate cost of the project would be so you could make whatever decision you thought was best concerning this property. Again, I apologize for the inconvenience that we have caused your family. Knowing that you were looking to buy the property, we did make every available effort to secure bids for the work necessary to make this house safe for you to live in. I wish we could do more to change your feelings, but I'm sure you will find a home that will be both safe and suitable for your family's needs. I wish you the best luck, Sincerely, Amil Alwan Blue Line Remodeling, LLC 269-329-2920 bluelineremodeling@hotmail.com bluelineremodelingllc@gmail.com

Blue Line stopped out for a quote back in January of 2014 as we were looking to finish our basement. The team provided a quote within a few days and worked with us to determine what we wanted them to do and what we wanted to do ourselves. We worked with a few other companies to get quotes but Amil and his team were the most thurough, easy to work with, and the price was right where we expected it to be. The team began framing in the dead of winter (February) and was very good at keeping snow and dirt out of the house when coming in and out. The framing went up smooth and their electrician worked one-on-one with us to determine the best layout for accommodating our wet-bar and specific lighting requests. Insulation and drywall went up fairly quickly and the rooms were ready for us to paint on schedule. As we were painting and installing cabinets for the wet-bar ourselves, the team set us up for success by taking the time to have the site leader stop by a few times to go over our decisions and make changes along the way. Once we finished our part, Blue Line came back in and installed carpet in one day for us. After that, the final inspections completed with no issues and we now have a fabulous game room to hang out in. After working with so many companies to try and find the right one, there is nobody else in this area that I would want to work with than Blue Line. I have nothing bad to say about their team and there is not enough space for me to give them the praise they deserve.
Description of Work: The Blue Line Team finished 720 sqft of our 1000 sqft basement. This included framing, insulation, electrical, drywall, trim, moving HVAC, and carpet.

.?First appointment did not show up or call back. Second appointment; Got here on time, was pleasant, professional and well mannered, did a complete inspection of the roof, did not climb on the roof, checked the attic, etc... waiting for their estimate at this time. Found out that Amil the owner and salesman of Blue Line is a Kalamazoo Police Officer who moonlights as a roofer. UPDATE: I decided to call BLR&C again to see why they didn't showed up, i am not going to write the whole reason as to why here, but i was happy with the fact that there was a miscommunication and unfortunately the wires got crossed and that is normal. So after communicating with each other we set up another appointment with BLR&C and Amil showed up late but calls letting me know that he was going to be late, however, was very pleasant and very professional and he seemed to come prepared. We are at this time still considering all the estimates, but based on the level of communication and professionalism at this time they are in contention for the job. We will see how it goes. UPDATE 5/17/2014 Unfortunately everything was going great, until, i asked Amil to rewrite the roofing and construction proposals which looked sloppy and lacked completion and thoroughness. I also asked for three references so i could check on his work and ethics. Didn't hear from him until i contacted him and complained about the length of time that he was taking to return my communications. More communication took place and finally Amil sends me an email telling me in essence that he was declining the job because he was concerned about "future repercussions to his company" and accusing me of being part of the problems. Let's see, Amil misses the first appointment and never shows up or calls, still we called him again to give him the benefit of the doubt, and he shows up late the second time, even though he did call and said that he was running late, but still. So, after we meet on the second appointment and have extensive communication concerning the roof and the construction of the overhang canopy, on the same day, I called him and left a message with the lady who answers the phone- Kelly. Three days later there was no return call, a day later, I sent him technical emails concerning the construction of the overhang canopy and called to verify that emails were being received, still, three days later no answers and this is at a time when we were hot in the planning stages of the job. So, because i demanded a certain code of conduct and timing in our business dealings and precise wording and completeness on the proposals and because i asked him for references, he declines the job? and that makes me a bad customer? So, I was happy to see him go, and i email and tell him basically "ok, whatever, bye" end of story, next! Right? Nope! Amil could not let this go, and then goes behind my back and contacts another company that he knew was working with us and went and called the owner of the company and told him derogatory distortions about me so they would get scared and not work with me and do the roof. Am I the only one who feels that what Blue Line owner Amil did was unethical, unprofessional and underhanded? Mr. Amil once told me that he got the bulk of his roofing business from Angie's List and that he "held very close to his heart" the reviews of his company in Angie's List. Now we are concerned and scared with the possible repercussions of dealing with someone who is a police officer.
Description of Work: I called Blue line Remodeling and got voicemail. I left a message for them to call me. The next day they called me and an appointment was set for Monday April 7, 2014 at 4:30 pm for an estimate. They never showed up and they never called me back.

Emailed request for estimate for a new door to be installed into a cinder block wall. Six business day later, a courteous and professional email was received from Kelley. An appointment was setup and Amil arrived promptly and was very courteous and professional and was easy to chat with. Four business days later the estimate was received. It was a bit more than I wanted to spend (i.e. could afford at the time) but not outside what I was expecting. In general, a positive experience if only to confirm that what I was hoping to have accomplished was more work than I had anticipated. I still hope to carry through with the project and will call upon them when I have the proper funding and time.

The whole experience from the initial estimate to the completion of the job and walk-through was great. We have an older house and wanted to replace the hardword floors in the living room. The floor had buckled in one area and needed to be repaired before the floor could be completed. Amil talked through the project so I knew what to expect, he offered the best price and he was patient as I made my decision. He was helpful in floor selection which was different than I had originally thought of using. The installers did an excellent job and were patient with our dog and just very personable and explained what they dd and why. We would definitely use Blue Line again. We have a beautiful and unique floor. They will be doing a replacement on our roof when the winter finally breaks and any other remodeling jobs that we need.
Description of Work: Blue Line replaced the hardword floor in our livingroom. Included having to fix a beam that supported the floor where it had buckled.

Thank you taking the time to leave us a review. You were a pleasure to work with and I'm glad the floor turned out so well. We did manage to track down some cold air return grates and they should arrive today. Then we will paint them to match and bring them over. Thanks again and we will see you in the spring!

Things went very well with our job. Amil, the owner, came out to our house in the country and provided a well written estimate for the work we wanted done. Our contract required a multitude of construction disciplines, including framing, steel and asphalt roofing, aluminum work, entrance door installation, vinyl siding repair, plus general property maintenance. Amil's crew seemed well versed with the work they were doing. After accepting the contract and paying one third down, Nick from Blue Line came out to measure for materials about three weeks later. The crew arrived a few weeks after that. We expected them sooner, but we were not in a hurry. All of the crew and staff from Blue Line were polite, respected our property, and were dressed appropriately for construction. They kept their Blue Line shirts on at all times, and there was no loud music or foul language, either. As work progressed, Lou, the lead worker, made sure the work being performed met our expectations. The job was completed in about one month. Upon completion Amil walked the job to ensure its quality and completeness. He made sure we were happy before accepting final payment. I think the crew went above and beyond fixing small items that we requested, and they paid great attention to detail. They did a fine clean up job, as well.
Description of Work: 1. Demolished and rebuilt three large overhangs on a small house and out buildings that were rotten and falling down. 2. Patched a leaking roof in many areas. 3. Installed a custom drip edge molding over the cobblestone around the perimeter of the house. 4. Installed cement fiber board around the lower part of a 30 X 40 building. 5. Installed a 6' side door with side lights in the garage. 6. Rebuilt the front porch steps and installed cement fiber board. 7. Removed the old aluminum screen and replaced it with new screen on our rear porch. 8. Fixed, patched and adjusted any loose or out of place vinyl siding on the entire house and attached garage.

We found Blue Line on Angie's List. We decided to use them based on the reviews. Due to storm damage on our house, we needed roof repair and water damage on the ceiling in our dining room. The repair work is so amazing you cannot tell where the work was done. They are not repair people, they are true craftsmen. Everyone, Amil, office staff, and craftsmen were very very professional. Communications and appointment times were always easily coordinated with our working schedules. So much so, we decided to have additional painting and new carpeting installed. We are so happy with everything, we are planning to have additional work done in the spring by Blue Line.

I had asked 3 different "roofers" over the summer to come and check my roof. After saying they would come out no one showed. I finally got on Angie's List to pick someone and Blue Line was close by and had good reviews. Amil responded to my call right away and came out. Fixed roof vents within the week. And lined up a Drywaller to come out within a couple weeks. George the Drywaller had to cancel the first time because he was sick. But he at least let me know and came out later in the week. And then one day the next week to finish the job. George did nice job repairing drywall in ceiling where leak came thru. Also nice job making attic access in ceiling in closet. He cleaned up his mess also. Price was reasonable. I appreciate Amil and George not brushing me off because it was a small job and I'm sure they have bigger jobs going on right now they have to deal with. I would definitely recommend Blue Line if you are thinking of any remodeling projects. I would use them again

Our remodel went very well beginning to end. We have no complaints --at all! Amil came out to give us an initial estimate- on time no delays. There was a delay starting the work but it was mine because of an unexpected illness. We weren't able to pick out & purchase our part of the materials so work had to be postponed. Amil was very understanding and helpful. Everyone who worked on our bathroom were pleasant, considerate and excellent at their jobs. + nice to have around. My husband and I are both retired so we were there most of the time. They cleaned up at the end of the day before they left. We had our bathroom totally redone.....everything was in very bad condition. They stripped the wallpaper, replaced the floor, totally redid the walls (including the drywall), Both the floor and the walls were worse than expected so it required more work & materials than expected. They replaced the tub, toilet, cabinet and sink, lighting (requiring some rewiring and plumbing), replaced the window and closet door, retiled the tub area and the floor. Installed a ceiling fan and painted walls, ceiling and closet. We were responsible for purchasing wall & floor tile, cabinet & sink plus shower & sink fixtures, lighting, but they picked them up at the store for us. All other such as tub & toilet, window, closet door, paint & ceiling fan, baseboards & other materials they provided. End result- We have a BEAUTIFUL new bathroom! A special "Thank You" to Lou & David and of course to Amil.

Nathan and the crew were great to work with!! All of the crew members were very considerate and responsible and always very responsive if we had any questions. Because of bad weather, the workmen were unable to work on several days, adding to the length of the project. However, all the work was completed in a high quality fashion. Going into the project, there a couple of areas of concern where we knew that there were potential problems. Amil and Nathan were fantastic to work with during these times!! They developed some creative solutions and always made sure we understood what was happening and why. We were very impressed with Nathan's creative craftsmanship. He was able to develop some special solutions for our particular problems and was able to discover the source of a leak problem with our service door that had defied many attempts at repair by others over the years. The workmen cleaned up beautifully and completely every night. Members of the crew went out of their way to confirm decisions with us. We especially appreciated this because, in the process of talking with them several times, we had the opportunity to change our minds and made a choice that we will be much happier with in the future. We were very pleased with the work performed by the company and it was an absolute pleasure to work with the employees!!
Description of Work: ---Installed new siding and insulation with moisture barrier around the entire house. ---Removed existing brick in the garage area of the house and replaced with moisture barrier and siding. ---Wrapped both chimneys with siding and capped them. ---Installed new service to the garage and repaired cause of leaks in that area. ---Installed seamless gutters. ---Replace window shutters on the front of the house (six total). ---Wrapped front porch posts and installed new railing on the front porch. ---Installed new fascia and soffit. ---Installed new vinyl boxes for electrical and spickets.

Blue line provided a quote for the work to be done. They provided multiple quotes for different work options so that we could choose what was best for our needs. They replaced all our windows (our request), pulled out two damaged bay windows and replaced with regular windows, replaced 2 exterior doors and storm doors, stripped all the shingles off the roof, installed smart vents and ridge vents, put down new shingles, repaired all the roof vents, and replaced all the siding. They put on a house wrap and repaired all the places under the siding that were damaged. They will be replacing two small decks as soon as the ground thaws. They had to pull down my major deck (24 x12) but I don't have the budget yet to replace this deck. All the decks had to be removed to repair the siding. They did all this work during December and January. All work was done promptly and carefully. The final price was basically the same as the quote (I made some minor changes). I did not feel that I was being conned. Every thing was explained to me to my satisfaction. The cost was reasonable for the amount of work performed. The workers were very careful and did not leave a mess in my yard. We will be using this contractor for work in the future.

I really can't say enough good things about Amil Alwan and Blue Line Remodeling. We feel so very fortunate to have found a company that has become our ?go to? builders. We initially contacted Amil when we were collecting estimates to build a new roof. While their estimate was not the lowest, we felt immediately that Amil and his employees? work was worth the extra cost. His explanations for the added cost made sense to us and in fact, led us to have concerns about the quality of work that would have been performed by the other companies we considered. Blue Line?s work since then has only strengthened the belief that ?you get what you pay for.? We have since hired them to replace our windows and to do our largest, longest and most expensive project to date: to remodel our basement. When we bought our house in 2010 the basement was a cold and dreary space with a cement floor and a thin wall of plywood dividing the basement in half. We envisioned a basement that was warm and inviting, and, most importantly would attract our teenage son (and his friends) to want to ?hang out at our house.? We had a lot of ideas, but we needed Amil?s expertise on how to design and light a space so that it feels less like a basement and more like another room in the house. Together with Amil we designed a basement that includes one large area with a home theatre space (with a built in shelf unit for components), a play area, a bar area, a closet for storage and a separate smaller area with the utilities, the laundry, a pantry and more storage. Amil even worked hard to make one of my silly dreams a reality: to turn the space under the stairs into a hidden room behind a sliding bookcase. The work that Amil and his workers (especially Alan) did was remarkable. The craftsmanship of the bar and all of the built-ins went far beyond our expectations. Besides Amil?s own company of professional and meticulous workers, Amil also contracts with an excellent group of plumbers, electricians, carpet layers, etc. All the work that was completed was top notch. And where there were minor mistakes or issues, these were quickly resolved without any added cost to us. Needless to say, the basement is now our favorite room in the house. It is cozy and warm and is the best place to hang out: for us as a family as well as for our boys and their friends? Thanks to Blue Line!

We had several estimates from local companies ranging from small owner operated companies to the "big names" in our area. Of them all Amil from Blue Line impressed us from the beginning. His professionalism and attention to detail was impeccable. He offered great suggestions to some of our bigger challenges and was very open to our ideas and concerns. Over the course of getting estimates and looking at what we wanted and needed there were some changes in what we ultimately wanted done, both in workscope and materials to be used. Amil was exceptionally prompt in getting back with updated quotes. We would send him an email detailing the additional work and the next day he'd be at our house getting measurements and we'd have an updated quote the next day. The crew was also very professional. They were prompt every day (weather permitting) and worked through the day. They were friendly and easily answered any questions that we had while they were working. They also kept our house/windows protected and cleaned up the yard each day. The work was done using quality materials and the right way. They were friendly, professional, and did the job on budget and in the time frame they quoted. What more could I ask for? Overall, Blue Line Remodeling has given us one of the best contractor experiences to date.

We purchased an abandoned home in need of many repairs. We requested multiple estimates and Blue Line was the most responsive and professional which is why we selected them. The house had a tree that fell on it puncturing the roof which caused water damage. The ceilings and walls were already torn out. The chimneys were also falling apart and needed to be replace. There were also multiple electrical plumbing issues. We were looking for a single company to be able to handle all of these repairs and Blue Line was able to do this. The owner Amil was very professional and communicated with us throughout the entire project. It took about a month and a half to complete all the repairs from start to finish which was excellent considered how much had to be done. When we had issues Blue Line was very responsive and took care of them right away. All the work was completed to our satisfaction. We found a couple of small problems with the plumbing and electrical and they came out and took care of them the next day. We strongly recommend Blue Line for any remodeling and roofing projects and would definitely use them again.
Description of Work: Replaced the roof and chimneys, repaired plumbing, electrical, instralled drywall, subfloors, carpet, fascia, gutters, baseboard, and crown molding.
