Great I called Shelby mechanical. I plumber we as at my house within an hour. He fixed my problem.

The representatives of Shelby Mechanical are all top notch, starting with the office staff Cheyanne who was always attentive to prompt scheduling of the plumbing work needed at my home. The plumbers were very efficient and did an excellent job both times, and their actual bill was below the quote they provided for the job. Gabe Judge had to go through the foya ceiling to replace an upstairs bathroom drain line which he did under budget. Justin Wilson replaced my galvanized pipes with copper pipes for the water supply lines and my water pressure is like brand new. These folks consistently exceeded expectations and are superstars in my book.

Had a pipe leak in my basement and they came out same day and squared me away in record time. Great friendly, quick, reliable, courteous service! Highly recommended and would use them again without hesitation.

I had this company come out on a recommendation. My sewer line was backed up. They came out and used their Hydrojet and put in a clean out. They said I was good to go. Yay! Unfortunately, I had a backup 5 months later in my newly remodeled bathroom. They came out (as it was under warranty) and cleaned it out again. They then told me I would need even more work done, starting with digging a trench in my backyard for $3k. Nothing was said about any of this when the original work was done. Do not used his company unless you have money to burn. Over a year after they did work for me, I have the same issues. So very, very dissapointed.

I've used them before, their pricing was reasonable and they did a good job.

We had installed a water back up with alarm on our sump pump along with a new discharge through exterior wall into overflow. Excellent work done by Connor. He was very professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. He answered our questions in detail & we highly recommend Shelby Mechanical for any plumbing jobs. Our phone calls were handled by Erin who set our appointments and answered our questions with quite impressive plumbing knowledge. We will definitely use them again.

Shelby Mechanical was great. Gabe took good care of us. He arrived early (even though there was snow), was friendly (even my toddlers liked him), and quickly got the job done. Would hire again.

Pipe Repair / Sump Pump Install and Water Backup

Had issues with back up in the kitchen and laundry drains. Upon inspection Gabe diagnosed the issue and got to work on the repairs, although the rain prohibited some of the outside vent work. During the repairs he also noticed a leak in the kitchen drain which was caused by a cracked pipe. He called in for additional help and stayed on the job until is was completed. Once the weather cleared they were able to water jet the clogged pipes and finish out the remaining work. Gabe and Justin were great to work with: clean, polite, punctual, and open about all the work being done while providing estimates and alternatives up front.

The guy came on time and we discussed my issue. To diagnose the problem he needed to run a camera down my main drain at the cost of 290.00 since it was 90.00 to just have him come and only 200.00 more to run the camera I allowed it. When he attempted to run the camera he said I had a broken trap and could not get the camera through the trap so only ran it a foot or so down. To run the camera through the sewer drain (the main) was not the concern to begin with. Then I asked about running down the actual floor drain that was backing up. He said he could not get my drain cover off and needed to drill it out at a cost of 110.00 more just to take the 2 screws out that I had removed in 5 min by my son. So he left and the cost was 290.00 for nothing. I have since contacted another service to resolve my issue it cost me 185.00 he came and snaked the drain which should have been done by this company to begin with and low and behold I have no water on my floor this morning after a very rainy night. What I'm trying to say is don't use them if you value your money. I feel as though they have taken advantage of me shame on me for wasting my money and allowing this but buyer beware.

The company contacted me quickly, came the next day and installed a new water spigot with no trouble. They were very courteous and covered their shoes when they came in my house. They also weatherproofed properly and cleaned up when they were done. I'm so happy to have a company like this to call whenever we need a good plumber.

They referred me to another contractor.

We were having difficulty with one of our shut off valves to an exterior hose bib the morning of the biggest snow storm to hit the Detroit area all season. In less than 2 hours, Gabe, our Plumber, showed up and began working to defrost our pipes and address the situation. He solved the problem he had come for but before leaving he wanted to make sure that our other shut off valve was in working order. Within a few minutes it was evident that that valve wasn't working properly and was leaking slowly causing water to build up in the pipes leading to the outside and they had already frozen. In the midst of the snow storm, he left to go and get parts to repair both of my shut off valves! Within a few hours of his arrival, he had defrosted my pipes, blew them out, upgraded the valves to a new ones, and completely winterized two of our most exposed areas for the upcoming freeze tomorrow night. If Gabe hadn't taken the time to look at the other valve (even though it was turned off and not causing a problem) I am quite certain we would have had a catastrophic leak in our basement. Thank you Gabe for going the extra mile and being so thorough! Thanks for going out in the snow and going above and beyond to make sure our home was secure for this Michigan winter! My interaction with the owner to receptionist to plumber was nothing but exceptional. I highly recommend Shelby Mechanical!

They quoted the job as costing $840, which I though was extremely high, and then they refused to provide a breakdown of the parts and labor cost. I went to the hardware store and purchased all the parts required for the job for about $30. I have never done any pluming in my life, and it took me about 3 hours to cut and route the pipes. Then, I had another plumber come in and glue the pieces together as well as correct a low spot that I had created. His time only cost me $220, which meant that the entire project cost me $250. I figure that an experienced plumber would have taken less than 4 hours to complete the entire job, This means that the hourly rate would have been over $200 per hour, which is about twice what the other plumber charged.

From their professionalism, to their knowledge in all things plumbing, Shelby Mechanical is one of the best companiesI have dealt with. We have used this company over the last 5 years with five different situations and I have to say, they outshine the competition. The prices are more than reasonable, the guys are wonderful and very personable. They explain options and make sure you understand everything prior to any work happening. We had an emergency the day we were supposed to leave for Florida last May. I called them up and within an hour we had someone coming out to install a new water heater and we didn't miss our flight. I cannot say enough good things about Ron and his company. If your debating between this company and another one, pick this one, you won't be sorry!
