Wilcox Bros Lawn Sprinklers & Landscape Lighting

It went great! They came in on time. Jim (the owner) was friendly and informative and introduced me to his crew. His entire crew was extremely pleasant and polite. It is fair to say they had some obstacles to work around like a LOT of brand new plants everywhere on the property.. I watched them be very careful. They worked from 10-7 until they got it done. They also cleaned up after they were done. Jim said they wouldn't hurt anything while they worked and they didn't! The sun was setting while they explained how the new sprinkler system worked and went through all the different zones (7) . I think my new plants will be watered really well and the days of asking the neighbor to water my plants when I am away are over! . I recommend this company. I don't recommend or do reviews unless I think a company deserves it. This one does.

We had to delay installation on several occasions due to other work being done on our home. Once we called and gave Wilcox the go ahead and asked them to schedule our service, they were extremely quick! The workers were at our home at the time stated and their work was done quickly and neatly. The foreman completely explained and demonstrated the system for us. We have absolutely no complaints and also appreciated the kindness shown to our young grandson when he asked his many questions. Thank you Wilcox Brothers!!!!!

We had been Wilcox Bros. customers for 15 years. They installed our sprinkling system and had been maintaining it since then. We were a and quot;priority oneand quot; customer. This year I called, as I always do, to schedule my turn on. I always schedule for the 3rd week of May (around my husband's birthday, so I can remember), this year, May 16. I waited that day, and waited. Surprised for not hearing from them, I called to see if I could get a 2 hour window and run some errands in the meantime, and Jennifer answered. She stated that I was not scheduled for that day, but for May 23rd. I explained to her that I had specifically requested that date (May 16) and could have not scheduled for May 23 since I was not going to be in town. She just asked, and quot;Do you want it or not?and quot; I said I couldn't do it that day and she said and quot;Well, then June 4th is what I haveand quot; I asked why wasn't I in the schedule for the day I had made the appointment for and she just said she didn't know. No apology, nothing. At this point I was very upset because of her I don't care unapologetic attitude. I explained to her we had paid for a and quot;priority oneand quot; kind a service and wanted my sprinklers turned on the date I had planned for, or around it, but June 4 was too far out. she didn't care and again ask if I wanted it or not. I said I didn't and hung up the phone. Few minutes later I called back and asked her for a refund and stated I was very unhappy that after 15 years we were treated like that, no apology even. She DID apologized then, but still was curt. She said she should have to talk to her manager to get us our refund back and will let us know. I waited and after 3 or 4 days I called back again. The manager was busy and said would call me back with an answer. She sent and email explaining that I would receive my check beginning of the following week because their accountant only worked 3 times a week. We did receive our refund as promised but was surprised no apology was given and not even asking why we had decided to change companies after all this time. I emailed the manager and informed her the reason why we were leaving their company and we never heard back. We are puzzled and do not understand how a and quot;family companyand quot; do not care for their customers, especially some as loyal as we had been.

I was really happy with them. Their prices are reasonable and they give you ideas without being pushy. I didn't know much about outdoor lighting, but they were able to help me make decisions within my budget. Everyone else seemed to get carried away with their own ideas without a great deal of consideration for what I wanted and what I wanted to pay. They gave me an estimate right away where others either sent it later or didn't send them at all. The installers were friendly and nice as well. I would highly recommend them.

I was impressed. I found the staff member's demeanor to be quite good. They had quite a number of reviews on the list so they have quite a good track record. And, I was impressed with the brochures and materials they gave me and the salesman's presentation.

They were supposed to be doing maintenance for a year. The sprinklers are not working right. They will charge us $90 to come back out. I keep calling because one of the zones is not showing up on the controller box. They are saying that the agreement is not theirs. It is a frustrating situation. I would never use them again and I would not recommend them to my friends.

The work was fine. They did not let me knkow when they were coming.

We contracted with Wilcox Brothers to install an irrigation system. They were very quick to come out and provide an estimate. The work was done timely and we're very pleased with the result. We would use them again.

Let me start by saying the salesperson was very good in the beginning! And the work seems to be done well. The issue is that when the sprinkler system was tested, the sod had just been installed. So the sod looked green. But when the landscaper came out the next day, he noticed spots that were not getting wet. Now in all fairness, the areas that seem to not be getting water sit next to the street (which are always harder to water). The main issue is that now the salesperson seems not to return any of my calls or IMs. That is why the company received the low rating. My concern is that my new sod starts to die in the areas mentioned above. I just need someone to come out once to get the sprinkler to water those areas. Now, it is difficult for me to do that as i have MS and walking and bending tend not to be that easy for me(or I would try it myself). Update: The company has contacted me and I must say I feel better now. They actually have some contact avenues that I was made aware of, and I am impressed! I was only using one form of contact for them. I would definitely use them again. Final Update: Today the company sent out Zack and Jamal, who took the time to explain the system and how the newly installed grass should be watered! The took time with my questions (even the ones I had to ask three or fours times) and really made me feel like they cared. I would definitely use the company again, expecially if they sent Zack and Jamal out again!!!!

Easy to deal with, detailed and very helpful

They came out, gave us the estimate, and we contracted them to do the work right then and there. They did the work very professionally in about 1.5 hours and tested the field to make sure that the entire section of yard was being irrigated uniformly. It worked like a charm and has been doing so since. I was very pleased with their work and professionalism and would recommend them to others without question.

Overall it was a failed service call. Bad service and bad response time.

I found them on the list and they were very good. Salesman Jim was on time and very considerate of of my ideas and we worked together to come up with a plan for my lighting needs. The lights he recommended are very high quality and affordable. We are very happy with the end results and would recommend them to anyone.

When we moved into our house they were doing the spring turn on of the sprinklers, and we stayed with them. The services was as expected. We used them for a few years, and found that we could do the same thing cheaper, elsewhere. Wilcox Brothers didn't do a whole lot, so it's difficult to give them a grade. We probably wouldn't use them in the future.

I didn't go back with them because they were too expensive. The opening took longer than expected and they wanted to charge me more money which I had never been charged extra previously. After complaining to the office, they did cancel the extra fees.

I was impressed with the service. I was expecting to have to replace the control box (approx $450) based on an estimate from another company. Wilcox was able to re-set the controls on the box and didn't charge me anything to do that. It has worked fine all summer, so it obviously did not need to be replaced.

My sister used Wilcox Bros for her yard and loved the results. I called the office and Eli came out a couple days later. We walked around the house and he listened to my concerns, then drew up a plan including 5 zones with a rain sensor, drip irrigation, sprayers, and regular sprinklers. We scheduled the installation for the next week. The guys arrived right on time. Eli met them in front of the house and introduced me to the team that would be onsite for the day. He walked them around the house and marked locations for the sprinkler heads. He even added an extra micro-sprayer for one of the pots we missed during the estimate. The guys were finished the same day and did a fantastic job. I was really impressed with the work they did. Before they left for the day, they gave me a tour of the new system and made sure I understood how to work the controllers. They even made nice neat piles of the mulch for me instead of re-spreading it after installing the drip line so I could plant the flower bulbs I had purchased. Overall, this was an easy and pleasant experience from initial contact to installation. I'm so happy with my new sprinkler system, I'm already seeing improvement in my lawn, and not having to water the flowers every day makes it worth every penny.

The salesman came out and told us wrong information and have damaged some of our property. In the process of setting up the irrigation system he cut our water pipe, they placed the wrong type of sprinkler heads and they did not connect the pipping correctly which caused the front yard to flood. He also told us that the water that your water your plants with is cheaper than the water that is transferred to the house. In reality it is 3 times more expensive! I inquired with the company on all these issues and they were never able to give an adequate answer. **In response to Wilcox's response below; a few more details: The first day, their installer(working by himself-supposed to have two people per installer) cut our water line at the street by the meter and did not do anything about it until we called Wilcox-we have pictures. Secondly, after our system was installed, we had all new seed put down the entire lawn. We turned on the system and it flooded almost our entire front yard within the first cycle. When we saw the problem, we turned off the system but it was too late. We called Wilcox and they came out and said the pipe running under the sidewalk(not a drip pipe) had not been connected. Oops! They had to dig in and fix it. As far as the meter, we did as they said and spent $1300 having the city install some meter that we get a second water bill each month, so the water that flows throughout our house runs on one meter and the meter for the lawn runs on another. The salesman said the reason for second meter was to save us money, as supposedly water for the house was 3 times as expensive as water for the yard-turns out, just the opposite. Water bills run $100-150 for yard in summer. On prompt service, I had to call Donna in their office(very nice and did her best) and e-mailed them several times, to get someone out to our house. We tried to make this work and even bought their top yearly program for $299(think that was price)-but their service and attitude never seemed to get better. As far as their response, read their last three sentences -total PR statement and in our case, nothing rings true of our experience. Sometimes, things just go wrong. Mistakes happen, that is human, but how a company responds is a sign of customer service, good or bad. This is a case of very bad and very disappointing. I have taken the time to write this lengthy response because details can help clarify plus correct their errors in their response.

Very nice on the phone. However, the waiting period for a morning service call was between 9a.m. and 2p.m. I don't have time to sit around and wait so I ended up calling another company

. They were very professional. They were timely but not the cheapest. I paid for the high end though I cannot compare the price. I will use them in the future.

Very friendly, professional and timely experience. Responded to my inquiry within 24 hrs of submitting, my neighbor had just used this company and needless to say I was very pleased to see them be the first option Angie's List provided to me. They had the job done in a day flat and did an exceptional job. I am very pleased with the work and product Wilcox's provided.
