STORM SEAL

The owner refused to service the door claiming "wind damage" even though a faulty valve (pins did not stay in) was to blame.

Though their price was slightly hire, their lead-time was good. The work was done professionally and timely. A unknown complication was discovered during installation of one of the glass pains and the installer fixed it on the spot. I thought this was going beyond what was required and it was appreciated.

We immediately had issues with the handle of the door not properly releasing, to open from outside. Then I noticed light coming in from the side of the frame, shortly after. In April, we switched the glass with the screen. The screen seemed loose, and would not pull tight no matter how much we adjusted the brackets. It seemed as if the glass had been helping to support the frame, which seemed to have been poorly installed, or defective. Shortly after the screen was put in, I went out to get the mail. As I walked outside, I heard a "POP" noise, and a black piece of plastic fell from the top of the frame. I noticed the pin was wedged sideways in the valve at the bottom of the door, and the door would not close. It stayed ajar about 1 foot from the frame. The following day I called to set up an appointment for repair, as it was only 3.5 months old. The receptionist (Debbie) told me someone would be out right away. No one came all day. I called again and spoke to Mark. Two days later, he came out- 5/18/17. I had my mother there to allow him to open the front door, and make the necessary adjustments. Supposedly he fixed the door "to the best of his ability" and then they proceeded to quote me for a new hinge and new frame, asking that I pay about the same as I did for the original door. He called it "wind damage", even though the door was always locked when not being used, and the screen allowed for proper air flow. I know for a fact the door was not damaged by the wind. I called again, but he still refused to accept responsibility for the poor quality of installation and the defective product. I had another company come out for a second opinion. They did not believe that the door needed any new parts, and only needed adjustments to work properly. I believe they were trying to avoid having to cover their poor quality work/product under the warranty policy, and ultimately just wanted me to give them more money to correct their mistake.

Fine. I brought the sash in, the measured it and order it., as it had to be sent out. I returned with the sash, when the glass was ready. They installed the new double pained wind and I went home and installed the sash.

It went well. they work on window now before would not stay up.

Didn't use the service

Mark and his crew replaced the storm door of our front entry. It was a custom fit and he got everything ordered OK and the install was actually a week or two earlier than originally expected. Quite frankly, I wished I had used them for the other two entry doors instead of the 'home center' sub-contractor who replaced the front main entry door. That 'home center' told me they could not get any storm doors our size. Mark at Storm Seal had no problem getting us replacement storm doors.

They were very professional, asked for a whole house windows replacement estimate as well, they were happy to provide one and help me decide which way to go quickly. They were on time, pretty much what you see/hear is what you get, no pressure to add more bells and whistles, unless its necessary.

No install door did not fit and was not special order promised. The reciept says special order then the boss says no thats not right. Bad business

We had two storm/screen doors installed by Storm Seal in 2003. During a recent wind storm the back door flung open and the entire door came away from the door jamb. I initially called another company to come out and give an estimate. I was not happy with the estimate and the amount of work that provider told me needed to be done. I then found my original receipt for the doors and called Storm Seal. I'm glad I did. The man from Storm Seal offered an alternative to having the whole door replaced by just repairing the door jamb (something the other company said couldn't be done). He completed the work quickly and professionally. The door works perfectly and you can't even tell it was repaired.

Initial measurement of windows was wrong but very quickly corrected the problem with no significant delay. Everything fit well and looks good. Very nice job.

When the repairman came to do it, the wood was rotten in the dining room window so they wanted to up the price on it. We just canceled that window and had them just do the door wall window. They did a good job.

The experience with them was definitely an A all across the board. It was a very well done job and very professionally done. They did high quality installation and used high quality materials. In fact, that was the first part of the job and now they are doing the second part of the job which is actually the installation of a large doorwall with three sections and replacement of windows about six of them.

We weren't all that impressed with them. We have old metal windows in our house and it's a mid-century modern house. So, I don't think they understood our product and they didn't understand the options. They proposed options for our house and our problems, but I don't think that they really were the options. I don't think that they truly understand their industry very much. The guy who had been to our house had a pretty narrow view of things. They were fine in a very narrow way, but they weren't that impressive. They would probably be fine if they have a specific job to be done. They weren't a good match for us. Their price was probably correct and looked low to me. I wouldn't be using their services in the future.

The initial appointment was to measure the windows and identify the problems. They came out several weeks later and installed the new units. The job went smoothly and they were very professional.

You could not ask for a better experience in service and quality of work.

The sales representative was very knowledgeable and helpful, the installer did an excellent job, and the price was more reasonable than another store I visited.

IT WAS TWO PEOPLE WHO CAME OUT. ONE MAN AND ONE WOMAN, THEY WERE VERY NICE AND CLEANED UP THE MESS BEFORE THEY LEFT. THEY ALSO MADE SURE THAT THEY HAD PUT THE NEW DOORS ON RIGHT. THEY CHECKED IT THREE TIMES.
