We have had a series of problems with our alarm system that was installed by previous owners of this company. Personnel have changed. The service department is understaffed and poorly trained. About 4 different servicepersons came to the house to investigate our latest problem which involved the fire alarm going on for no reason or the alarm company calling us to tell us the fire alarm was going on even though we were home and heard nothing. The only result was that our keypads were reporting all kinds of problems or they were totally dead. The servicepersons either couldn't detect anything wrong or believed they had found the problem and made the repair. The system would work for a few days and then the whole mess would start again. Twice we were told that a serviceperson would come on a Saturday morning and each time no one showed. When we called the 1-800 number to find out why the national office informed us that the local, Detroit, office didn't make Saturday calls. Finally, after speaking with the office head of the Detroit unit a "top" service person was sent. He was, finally, able to locate the source of the problem . However, he was due to be elsewhere and didn't have time to fix it. The following day the office head came and he did the repair. Thus far everything is working. However, we are uncertain enough of the reliability of the system and the service providers that we are investigating other companies.
