John arrived early and worked diligently while here. He was honest about what he was/was not able to do.

Very nicely, all I could ask. On time, good work, cleaned up always, easy to contact, good communication, etc..

John is a great guy to deal with. I thought he was coming out to give me an estimate, but he was prepared to do the work right there. To me I didn't ask price because we have been going through a list of handy men for the past year trying to get it fixed to no avail. He took things apart inside the cabinet, found the problem, figured a solution and assembled it all back together. Time will only tell, but I'm so glad to have the door and the lazy susan finally working after a year!!

John returned my call within hours and scheduled a time to get the work done. We were in communication by text and he kept me updated on the solutions to the problems. I have used him twice and have some bifold doors that need correction. John will be doing the work.

John was able to perform work at significant savings to potential cost. John was able to fix the steps without having to rip out the drywall underneath to do so. Pocket door hardware was replaced similarly without ripping out bathroom drywall. John was able to correct the problem where others may have done and charged for significantly more unnecessary work.

Part given to us did not fit. John picked up the part for us and quickly fixed problem. His demeanor is great and seemed very knowledgable. Would hire again.

John installed 2 exterior door knockers with peep holes. He was very punctual and and did a great job. I will have him back in the future.

Able to schedule and have work done in rapid fashion and same day as initial encounter, though price was a bit high, but given the timing and work completion for the same day was willing to pay.

The service was all good. He arrived on time, he left the area neat and clean. He took about an hour. He was really good.

Business is listed in Troy and they say that Auburn Hills is even too far. I am confused. How can you service a county and not really service a county? You decide.

Last summer when our basement flooded we had one door that started to deteriorate in the basement. Since we have cats and like to keep them out of parts of some basement areas we needed a new door. We also noticed that with the doors close the air did not circulate. We decided that our best bet would be to get wooden screen doors to replace the interior basement doors. Well we bought the doors and the months passed while my husband and I thought about it. Finally fed up I found John Jackson on Angie's list and sent an E Mail describing the job. He called back very quickly and we set up a time for him to estimate the job. In the meantime our storm door which we have between the garage and the house wacked out and we needed it replaced. The person Lowe's sent out to measure and potentially install too one look said it was backwards and left. Well with John coming over I had another thing to ask him about. When he came out he said he could definitely do all the jobs but had to think on the garage door a bit. He called a few days later with the estimate which I was pleased with and we scheduled the work. Unfortunately we could not get the garage door by the time we had scheduled but he came out and took care of the basement doors. He even suggested that if I put some weather stripping on the frame they would bang less. I f=ffered to pay him for this part of the job since I wasn't sure how long the other door would take to come in, but he said no, when he completed the job is when he expected to be paid. When the last door came in I gave John a call and he came out that Thursday to install. This was a bigger job since he had to extend the frame of the door out so it would not hit the cement step at the doorway. In the end the door was perfect for me. We added a little weather stripping but the door works and no longer hits the cement which is why I think the old one failed. I now consider him my handyman and will give him a call anytime we have one of those honey do jobs that honey won't.

John is very proficient; has good experience. Somewhat expensive - and can be days or weeks until he has you scheduled.

I would hire John again. Right on time, very knowledgeable, full-service small job repairman (looked at the jobs, went to the store to buy required materials, came right back and completed the job). I have no reference point as to price point, but seems to me he charges around $50 an hour.... might be right on and it's within reason, but I wouldn't give an A to someone who might be at market rate. Also, the cabinet drawer doesn't close all the way. John pointed it out to me, and it probably is the result of trying to fix a 30-year-old cabinet with today's hardware, but for an A it would have had to be perfect. He seems to be scrupulously honest and down to earth - my kind of person in general (with extra kudos given the position he fills). An exceptional small-job handyman!! (and they are hard to find).

My husband accidentally backed into our 3 household mailbox post. It was snowing, the ground was pretty much frozen and my husband knew, once he checked out the damage, that there was no way he could repair it until spring. We called John and left a message....he got back with us promptly and scheduled a time to come look the next day. He determined he could do the job for a reasonable amount (another guy wanted 400-450 for a fancy mailbox which we didn't need) and would come back as quickly as possible. John replaced the post and put in two new mailboxes for our neighbors because theirs were pretty much beyond repair. He also put new address stickers on for them. Our mailbox was still okay as is. We were very happy with the repairs and appreciate that he got the work done in such a quick manner since it was still snowing and the mail was still coming! John also called to check and see that we were satisfied with his service. Yes, we would use his handyman service again!

I found him on Angie’s List. He was excellent. He is very reasonable. He was easy to work with. He doesn’t charge by the hour. He charges by the job.

Very well. John was able to come out that day which was lucky for me because of iproblem with toilet. He is very handy and knowledgeable. I would definitely use his services again.

John was prompt, knowledgeable, efficient, and repairs were complete. Will use again.,

John responded promptly and promised to call when he returned from a week off. He didn't. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and we scheduled an appointment. He came and promised us a quote and a referral to his "door guy". Never heard from him again.

John is a super-nice guy, and I hate to leave a bad review. BUT, after the walk-through, he said he would contact us the following week to schedule our work to be done. We have not heard a peep from him (it's now going on a month) and several phone calls and texts have gone un-returned. I understand he is very busy, but the lack of communication is frustrating and unprofessional. We will have to go with someone else. It's a shame because we really liked his work in the past, but people can't put their lives on hold forever to wait for him to call them back. UPDATE: He called back quite quickly after he saw the review. Said he'd been trying to contact me. Not true. His number is in my phone, so if he had ever called I would have a record of it. He only called after he saw the review.

Very good, he got everything done in a timely manner. Professional work, I'd use him again.

John arrived promptly with the materials needed for the job. Because of the size of the faucet he had to go back to the store for different parts. He cleaned the inside of the faucet when he repaired it. He then replaced the 3 way switch. I called a few days later because one of the faucets was leaking and he promptly returned and fixed it. He called the next day to make sure everything was okay. I was very pleased with his work and will call him again.

It went well and stands up to weathering.
