HI-TECH PEST CONTROL

Tech showed up 1.5 hours late for appointment and then told me the company no longer services crawl spaces or attics. Told me to type in 'animal control and my area code' as a next step. Overall, waste of my time since the description of 'ATTIC' was in every communication. Don't waste your time on these guys.

I called the company while I was out of town but my kids were home and they are in their twenties. I explained that right before I left I realized we had bed bugs and that they needed to be dealt with asap as my daughter is is majorly afraid of bugs and has been having a very bad reaction that we had thought were hives. Instead of easily answering my questions about cost, the procedure and how many visits he went on and on comparing his business to Orkin. I told him I am not asking him to compare himself to another company just answer the questions directly. I finally got him to say that he could inspect that day and call me back, it should be taken care of in one spraying and he would give me a cost once he inspected. He went on and on again about his six month warranty and how Orkin only gives 1 month. After he inspected he called back and told me $825 and could do it the next day and again it would be taken care of in one spraying but that they always come back about 2 weeks later to inspect again just to make sure they are gone. I set it up with him for the next day and my kids spent all day and night up washing clothes and getting everything picked up off the floor like he said. The kids let me know he had sprayed and all seemed well. I got home a few days later and my daughter was looking better. Then I noticed a day or two later that she had fresh bites. I called the company and the owner swore he had told me it would take two applications and he wasn't coming back until the 2 weeks mark because they might still die off from the application he had done a week before. I was very upset. Not only did he not kill them in the one application he swore would do it but he told me I was lying. He had told my kids the same thing. I was also so mad that he would let us be bit up again for another week until he would come again. Not only that but he blamed it on my daughter saying she wasn't clean enough and it was too hard to get behind her bed (a loft bed). He refused to come out for that next week. We waited in a bug infested home for a week until he came back at the 2 week mark. He sprayed and left and left no paperwork. When I called and talked to his girl who only takes messages he never called back and never sent paperwork. I pray we never have to call him back because he will not come 6 month warranty or not, he will never come back. He took the money and ran and tried to make it all our fault on his way out. This guy is a total scam artist and will say anything to get your business but once he has your money he never wants to hear from you again and will berate you for wasting his time which is way too precious to spend on you as he has new clients waiting on the other line. BEWARE.

There is still some follow-up work to be done and I am not sure yet about how satisfied I am. He is very responsive and was on time. I have never used that service before, so I don't know what to expect. If the job is done complete, then I would say it was a good price. I have been out of town for two-and-a-half weeks, so I am going down today to check more on the situation. They are supposed to come out and do a follow-up this week.

We just bought a house that had been unoccupied for several months, and walking through on the morning of closing, found a basketball-size hornets nest attached to the garage door. Called Hi-Tech that afternoon, and Don offered to come out within a couple of hours. He arrived a few minutes late (it was rush hour) and advised me to stay well clear as these were bald-face hornets and could get aggressive. Despite a major thunderstorm blowing in just as he started, Don sprayed the nest and removed it in about half an hour. The cost of the service from Hi-Tech was significantly less than the price offered by a certain major national chain of pest control services, and they didn't give me the hard sell for a monthly pest control plan. They just came out and did the job.
